  1. I think it took a week for my guide rod to arrive this month.
  2. I would definitely try them. Right now I have 15 OEM glock mags, three that are old "LEO" that I use from dry fire. I just bought new springs for all the mags, because I actually had a jam at the last match. So I am invested in keeping them in use for a while to come. I don't have a single complaint about OEM glock mags. I round the tabs a little so they are easy to dissemble with a writing pen for cleaning. They never jam (there was that one jam on a 8 year old mag, but it might have not been the mag), always drop, and aren't expensive. I had a Glock blow up, and when Glock offered to give me a new mag, I told them the old one still works fine. I like uniformity, so why change? But, why not throw a few bucks at giving a couple a try? I like the idea of supporting that company.
  3. That's a great new thing to know. With those Lee dies on the Dillon I worry that I only have half the threads of the nut engaged. Put the nut under the toolhead....
  4. I had that going on with my 650. I had some going in with difficulty, some had dimples. I looked at my primer ram, and there was some media caked on it. I had been using a crushed walnut that caked (cat litter rather than lizard litter). I cleaned my ram and the press and those problems got much better.
  5. Yeah, I have that jager extended guide rod with the wolff spring. That guide rod it is thicker. I was hoping wolff had a 13lb spring.
  6. After the last two matches where I had a failure to feed, I just finally ordered new mag springs for my glock mags. They were really cheap. Seems like very cheap insurance. Some of these mags have 6 year old springs in them.
  7. Since you fit in adidas, it might be worth staying with that same brand. I bought a pair of adidas football cleats that I have been very happy shooting in. I have a size 12 and a narrow foot.
  8. I am flirting with the idea of placing a Dillon trimmer on a my 550 along with the CS swage tool. I could have a toolhead to size, deprime, swage and trim. Then I would have another to load. It looks like Dillon is making a 1500 trimmer to allow for 300 blackout. I may just grab a 1200 trimmer on ebay or the classifieds if I can find one.
  9. That package that was mailed on 3/3/15 from Texas, it finally arrived a couple days ago. It was a paper padded envelope. USPS had placed it in a plastic bag with an apology printed on the bag. Inside, the paper padded envelop was soaked with a non-water oil based substance. I didn't know what the substance was, so I immediately washed my hands and threw the packaging out. The item only took 24 days to mail from TX to VT and was soaked in an unknown oil based substance. Gee, I am glad it was not an electronic or important item.
  10. I have a last name that if you don't know how to pronounce, you will fail the solicitor test. Hang up. To be honest, I don't even answer the phone if I don't know the caller.
  11. We had a rash of packages being stolen off front porches in the area. You would think UPS would want to avoid that and all the angry customer calls and would just give a quick knock or doorbell ring.
  12. For all us who don't have a land-line, I was so happy when I found out my iphone could "block this number." I had been getting automated calls daily at dinner time from some bank I never heard of.
  13. I think you have a bad tank. I live in VT, where the winters get under 0F kinda often, and there was one year I couldn't get my grill up to normal temps. At the time I was refilling a tank that I owned, rather than using Blue Rhino and trading tanks. At that time the only thing that worked for me was to fill a large bin with hot water and to put the tank in the bin of hot water. That would make the grill work with no problems. Now I use Blue Rhino and that old tank is gone. There are no problems at all. I grill in -6F without issue. I actually have two tanks, so I never run out halfway between a steak or salmon.
  14. Yep, I have a package that was mailed in TX on 3/3/15, and it hasn't arrived either. The tracking information just says something to the effect of, departed sort facility on 3/3/15. Its been 14 days since it departed the sort facility... Either the broken down truck was actually broken into or the driver is on a bender in Vegas.
  15. For my Gen3 G34, I've been trying to decide between their extended guide rod and their regular guide rod. Anyone know the weight difference between the two? Their website lists the heavy one at just under an ounce, but doesn't list the weight for the regular one.
  16. If that's the case I'd stick with what you have, I don't see why'd you want to spend the money unless you were planning on loading a lot more rounds I second that.
  17. With the 650, your left hand is just sitting there, so it might as well throw a bullet on the case. Hardly any time saved with a bullet feeder. With the 550, you have to take your right hand off the handle to place a case, which is awkward anyways. Definitely more time saved with the case feeder. But in the end it depends on the volume for each... If the 550 isn't getting much volume, or changing calibers often, then it might just be more hassle than its worth.
  18. Hey, Zzapp. Let's talk about your primer assembly. Do I see that you used that same plastic on the bottom plate? How's that working?
  19. It looks very smooth. I wonder if a poll was taken, maybe we could sway Zzapp to start making them for our 550s.
  20. Yep, Mine came that way too. I even remember reading somewhere on Brian's page that's how it works.
  21. Yeah, that is a good point. I haven't assessed my grip in a long time. Thank you for the reminder!
  22. A couple people commented on his speed of movement. Also, watching his reload, he is probably rather new to USPSA shooting. I remember when I first started working on shooting on the move. It was hard to transition away from sprint shoot sprint shoot because I knew I was shooting slower until I got skilled at it.
  23. That's what's killing me right now. I used to have a range about fifteen minutes away. I was even be able to visit it in the middle of a work day and my boss didn't mind. I was practicing twice a week and matches every month. I've changed jobs and moved, and now I am lucky when I get to a match! There are many times I wish I didn't make that change...
  24. Talking about this reminds me of some terrible dry-fire drills I used to do. I would set a par time and try to get through a stag in my living room by the second beep. I would find myself rushing through targets and definitly NOT calling my shots. It was more me seeing how fast I could wave my gun around and pull the trigger. Reading this thread, my priority should have been calling my shots and speed second.
