  1. 125 Zero's at 1050fps, 5.3 WST, no recoil out of my 38 S&W. Works best for me. Russell
  2. Good Day Alan. A very big thank you to you and the crew of the Bedford club for a great 2 days of shooting. The weather could not have been better, the organization of the matches was 100%, and the range crew did an awesome job. I only wish we could have a few more matches in the year, I need the shooting time. Thank you again. Russell Canadian AP shooter.
  3. Thank you Ed. May I ask which eye has the Astigmatism, for me it's my master eye and that's my shooting eye even though I always have both eyes open. For what ever reason the old style Holo Sights I have work great, just go to see if they can be serviced. But if found the web page you quoted and its there. Will you be at the matches in Bedford in 3 weeks? Thank you again Russell
  4. Hello Ed. I have just tried to find the scope you guys are talking about, but the only one I see is the XTS speed dot, but it says it's a 30mm tube, I must be looking in the wrong place on there web page. Could you help me please. As Kevin says, I have an Astigmatism in my left master eye, and the only sights I can us that don't give me the 2/3rd's snowman are 2 old Holo sights I use. but they after almost 20 years of use are not reliable anymore. I might be able to have the serviced, but they are very heavy. Thanks Russell
  5. Good afternoon guys. You are all missing the point, he hit the steel plate ( balloon ) at 1000 yards, it does not matter how many shots it took, try with the naked eye to see that far. you have to love it, Jerry you be the man. I want one of the Revolvers for Action Pistol. Russell
  6. Hey. I just checked the rules, section 3. It does say 6", but I would get a ruling in written form from the NRA, the firearm you are wanting to use seems to be in production, and looks to me that it has been in production for a long time. Some times you need to ask the big wigs, because they don't always look far enough forward or behind. I use a 621-c-1 in open, it's lot of fun, but being left handed makes it even more fun. I found the rules on the NRA web page, but please send them an email and get them to put it in writing as to why or why not the firearm can or can not be used in the division you want to compete in. Have fun. Russell Canadian Action Pistol Shooter, one of only a very few.
  7. Hello to all. Those of you going to the World Shoot, the Bianchi, I wish all of you the best time, great shooting, and lots of X's. I hope the weather is great for the matches. For the few of you going to MI for this weekend, I will be there by 6pm Thursday night. I will not be able to attend the Worlds or the Bianchi this year, not enough time, enough money, and my wife could not be left alone for such a long time. But MI is doable. Please have a great time, shoot well, and above all be safe and have fun. J. Russell Bryan It's still winter sort of up here.
  8. Hello Mark. well I can say that I have not accomplished all the things you have, but for sure I have moved a large oil tanker of snow in the last 8 weeks, and spent a of cash on fuel to do it. My gun room is still a mess, my brass is still not clean ( to cold in the garage )and the guns are dirty from last year. I will not be able to make the worlds or the Bianchi as time is tight and so is the cash, but I will do the matches in MI, and PA, as well as VA, so I will get to see you guys for sure at some point this year. The site I am trying to construct is now 8 weeks behind schedule, no way I can make it up until the weather breaks. I can't even get to the range to take a few shots at paper, guns will freeze and ammo hates this kind of cold, but to day the temp is 34f, holy crap I can start to ware my pink T Shirt, it's like summer compared to the past 2 months. it is what it is, so I just put up with it. Hope to see all of you soon, and get out to play, working for a living just sucks. Russell
  9. at least you have a place to play. It's still freezing cold up here, and we have at least 4feet of snow on the ground. if this ever lets up I might get a chance to go out and play a bit. Russell From the great white north.
  10. You ever get down towards North Carolina Russell, look me up. You are welcome to shoot your round guns with us at any of our ZSA or USPSA matches anytime, and just an aside, PLEASE keep all your snow up in Canada where it belongs, we DON'T NEED IT IN NORTH CAROLINA !!! Thank you for the invite, what club are you with? I will rejoin USPSA in the next few days. I compete in Action Pistol in Pa / VA / MI, so NC should not be to much more driving to get to. I will need to read up on the revolver rules for USPSA as one of my 2 Revolvers ( Performance Centre ) can meet all the requirements for ICORE, in all 3 categories, just a few alterations and it's good to go, all loads are minor, but not sure if it meets the rules for USPSA. As to the Snow / Cold / Rain, I sent it down because after nearly 8 weeks of the crap we have had enough. Please enjoy it, we didn't. December 21 at midnight we lost power for 70 hours, it cast me a lot, had to by a Honda 3000 for power to keep the house warm, and my wife from freezing solid. Let me know if you can as to you match schedule for the year, or a place to find it. This year the World shoot and the Bianchi for Action Pistol are out for me, can't take that much time from my wife or work, I'm the boss, no work no pay. I will make 4 AP matches this year, and would like to try a few Revolver/ICORE/USPSA matches if time can be made. Thank you again for the invite. Russell Canadian
  11. Hello to all. I am new to ICORE, and our club just got it's affiliation, way up here in the great white north. ( Toronto, Canada ). I have shot IPSC/USPSA for 28 years, then on to Action Pistol, and now to add to my fun ICORE. I bought a 686 Performance Centre 4 years ago, just cause it looked cool and felt great in my big hands. O ya I'm left handed to boot. No mater what the rules, any time you can put rounds down range is good for me, it's about fun and a way to relax, if I can shoot well I'm happy. 6 / 7 / 8 / does not really matter, it's all about the X. I hope to meet some of you in the future at matches, if all goes well I might attend a few matches in the Eastern US this year. Have fun, shoot well, be safe. Russell
  12. Thank you Grant. When time allows I will start trying to get my P9 up and running, I do have some 115's and will give them a try. Russell.
  13. Hey Grant. How do I tell if my P9 is old or new style, I got it and it was 9x21. I got it used. Why such a light bullet, I would normally use a 124 or 125 JHP, and I got lots of them from Zero. Russell Happy thanksgiving all in the USA.
  14. Hey Grant. Is that out of your P9, Kevin had mine re barreled a few years ago, to 9x19 from 9x21, I have yet to play with it much, and had a few problems with the sizing of my reloads. The barrel is real tight. I'm still playing with the revolver. But I love 3N37 VV, it worked very well for the 9x21, and in my BHP As for accuracy, any well set up 9mm will do what you need no problem. Russell
  15. Hey Guys. I have to add my .o2 cents worth. I am shooting a S/W 681-C-1 custom built in the early 90's. It is awesome to shoot, heavy as heck, but can shoot the eye out of a fly at 50yards, if you do 1 major thing. All testing needs to be done from a bagged rest or better. if the gun moves you will never know for sure what it can do. ( not what you can do ) these are 2 different things. My 681, with 5.2WST / Lapua Brass / 125grn Zero hollow point, case / bullet set half in the canular and a slight crimp, nothing major, makes 1020 to 1080fps. this load will shoot ( bagged and rested ) less than 1/2" at 50yards, no S!@#. no I am not saying I can do that free holding, but I know for sure that the gun can do it. That is all that matters, the gun can do it and the load. If this all comes to, at a match, ( it has not yet ) I could shoot pretty good. The last part of this is to test shoots on targets ( with the gun set up for the match and loads ) at 5yrds and through to 50yrds at 5 yrd increments, this will tell you what elevation at what distance you need to be shooting. My 681 shoots 1 1/4" high at 50yrds, 1 1/4" high at 10 yrds, from 20yrds to 35 it shoots point of aim. I have spent at least 3 years trying to get an handle on this Revolver, I have had a lot of help from some great guys at my club, and you guys have all helped me just from reading your posts. I still don't have enough of a clue yet to be where I want to be, but I'm trying. I have tried almost every powder out there, the all have good results, the best came from VihtaVuori 3N37, it was the closest to Win 540, which was the closest to Win 453AA, I used all these powders in my 9mm High Power, and my P9 9x21, I used to load a lot of 12gauge for Trap, that's were the 452AA came from. But they all work great. The VV is very costly and some times hard to get up here, but the WST is easy to come by and does not bust the bank. With all this babbling, the point is the only real way to know for sure were the gun shoots ( any gun ) is to bag it or use some kind of rest, in needs to be as stable as possible, once that's done the rest is up to us. If the gun shoots great and we don't it's not the fault of the tool, it's tool behind the gun. One last comment I love the flames, nothing like position sensitive powder. Be Good, shoot lot of X's Russell, the Pink Man
  16. Ok Doug now your showing off. It looks real cool, and if you can shoot it as well as it shoots, YE HAY. Russell
  17. I agree with you. So what's really stupid, is that I spent 27 years shooting an Auto, then went to a revolver, and to add insult to all of this, I am left handed. The internet is really cool for the most part, I may never have a chance to meet some of the people I chat with otherwise. O by the way, if I could shoot as well as my revolver, I might have a chance to at the Bianchi some day. 6 Shoots in the X is way better than 10 shoots of the target. Russell
  18. Thank you Doug. That tells me all I need to know. Russell
  19. Pin Shooter, what is WTF mean, did I pee on your corn flakes, if so I'm sorry. Russell
  20. Moon clips are the only way to go, in your case plus 1 , but I love the way they work. The only draw back is if you are left handed like me, for fast loading they are tough to use. But the cost and workmanship were worth it. The guy who did mine is not that far from you. I did it all through the mail ( Canada to USA and back ) Russell
  21. Hello Grant. You are a good man no matter what anyone else says.( Ha ) Thanks for keeping us all in the loop. Russell B Canadian
  22. Hello Toothguy, your numbers are on the money. If I could shoot my revolvers as well as they shoot, I could not lose. It took me a lot of time to find this load, I had a lot of help from a friend at my home club. Shooting the revolver is not an easy thing to do, when I had shot an auto for 25 years. Loading for a revolver is even more difficult, trying to find the perfect powder is tough, I still would love to find a powder that filled the case more, but will stick with the WST for now. Shoot well and lots of X's Russell
  23. The only reason it takes that long, is because you still use canoe's to travel around, o ye I forget with Dodge Hemi's in them. Melon Head.
  24. The only way 2 make both matches is if I won the lottery, and my wife gets a hole better by then. I think that the lottery is a better chance. But with that said, I am still not sure if I would be allowed to compete at the world match, it says it's a team match, but I am unclear on the wording. I would only be able to take enough time from work, I work for myself, for one of the 2 big matches. Also Martin P has his matches in MI around the same time as the 2 big ones, the MI match is only 8 hours away for me. Kentucky is almost 18 hours away. Bianchi is 17 hours. So with that said, I am going to buy a lottery ticket tonight, and hope,!!!!!! I missed the Bianchi this year because I had not had a contract for a few months, and money was tight. This is a great sport with some of the best people I have meet in the 30 years of shooting. most of you are willing to help, with nothing in return. and its fun trying to hit a 4" X at 50yrds, it was much easier to hit the trap target with my 12 gauge. Be safe, and shoot only x's if you can. Russell
