  1. C-more Railway mounted right the flattop as well here. Feels like a good height, but I may play with a spacer to raise it up just a tad.
  2. Definitely front to back for me. No sense in passing over 2 or 3 mags to get the last one. Might as well grab the nearest one possible to get the reload done and get back to shooting.
  3. I've tried that timer trick a few times and its worked. I was mainly just curious to see if it'd work, wasn't really analyzing anything. When i look at match video (rarely anymore bc i forget to record anything these days) I never worried about splits. I looked at footwork into and out of positions, how quickly I was ready to fire when i got setup, etc. Then I'd find a vid from an M or GM at the same match and watch them side by side to see where I lost time at. Its amazing how the little things can add up to 3-5 seconds. Splits were, and rarely are, an issue. Its all the other stuff like absorbing a draw in the first few steps, smooth reloads, no extra shots on steel (sometimes causing more reloads), missed positions/poor footwork causing me to stutter step through a port or shooting spot, not being aggressive out of a shooting position, not being ready to shoot as soon as I came into a shooting position.
  4. The more you see various setups, the better you will be at it. As your skills change, so will the stage plans. Instead of running all the way up to a wall, maybe you'll shoot it from a yards back so that after that array is done, its only a step or two around the corner instead of a longer run, etc. For now, just look at the basic differences you can find such as "do i go left or right first on the buzzer?" and see which one is shorter in terms of steps or which one you feel like you can move better. Sometimes moving one direction instead of the other just feels better and will be smoother/faster.
  5. Watched one match, borrowed a setup for one and now I have my own
  6. Haven't had a problem in some dryfire, but live fire could be a different story.
  7. Finally got everything put together for my PCC. Time to get out and shoot this thing now! New Frontier Glock Lower Matrix Side charging Upper ACE stock (had it laying around) JP Spring Kaw Valley 7.5oz buffer Geissele 3-gun trigger (had it laying around) Kaw Valley 9mm bolt Kaw Valley 16" barrel Kaw Valley 15" Konza handguard YHM Flash Suppressor C-More Railway 8 MOA dot I think that's the list. Might need to get a spacer put under the C-more but it'll work as it is for the final match of the year soon. I like the way it came out, hope it shoots!
  8. AR-10 Spring is in my tube but I have yet to shoot it, lol. Going to see what it shoots like this weekend hopefully and tune with some spacers/quarters if needed. And I think I saw somewhere that mag couplers are a no-go now.
  9. It sounds like you are taking 1 sight picture and trying to rip the trigger twice as fast as you can hoping they both go in the same spot. You don't "call shots faster", you call them when the shot breaks and the front sight or dot lifts up. Doesnt sound like you are seeing that at all. Ignore the time, ignore the splits. Just try to shoot Alphas as fast as you can. Get a picture of the other side of your gun so we can see what your weak hand is doing, but the strong hand looks like its high in the grip like it should be. Lot of people want to shoot fast, which is great. But if you focus on some split times rather than other more critical things like target transitions, moving into and out of positions, reloading smoothly and at the right time/way to be efficient you're going to lose way more time than what you gain by dropping a split from .20 to .15.
  10. Practice? Whats that? In all seriousness, this year and most of last I've taper off a lot of my shooting. A few years ago I was dry-firing 3-4 days a week, hopefully 1 live fire practice night a week then 2-3 matches a month. The past couple years its been 1-2 monthly matches which were used like "practice" for Majors. This year, I didn't even shoot any Majors.
  11. Thought about putting this in the 9mm forum, but since its primarily for my new PCC, here it is. For those who are loading their own (or probably just shooting their production stuff), what bullet weight are you using. It may just be a "try it and see" setup but looking for a trend of lower recoil/dot movement. With center fire rifle stuff, heavier bullets tend to yield more recoil as well. What are people seeing in their PCCs? I'll probably be in the 130-140pf area I'd imagine, but are you using lighter stuff like 115s or heavy 147s?
  12. Locking back isn't much of a concern for me. Sounds like its time to get some ammo around and tune it up a bit. Going to have to be factory ammo for now as I don't reload 9mm, but that's going to change over the winter I'm guessing.
  13. Sounds like I need to put a bolt catch on my lower to check this then, lol. I robbed a bunch of parts off an older build for this but didn't have a blot catch at the time. I figured, its going to have a flag in it or be in use so the need to lock it back wasn't astronomically high for me.
  14. Finally got the last pieces of the puzzle and working on putting it together. I've read where bolt travel can be a problem and if it cycles too far, some internal parts can be broken in the lower. I have a New Frontier glock lower. How much further past the ejection port should the bolt travel? I've seen where people use quarters as spacers behind the spring. I'm guessing that's just to stop the rearward travel, but is there an optimum distance it should clear the port? Open just enough to clear it or go further?
  15. Friend and I are building a couple right now. I'm just waiting on a BCG and mine should be ready to shoot. 9mm lower from New Frontier and a hodge-podge of parts from Joe Bob's. We both shot his at the last match and it ran like a champ.Ill get a full list together once mine is actually done
  16. Had a chance to look at 4 or 5 options at the last USPSA match. Think I'm leaning towards a C-more with at least an 8 MOA dot. There were a couple Bushnells, a Vortex Spitfire and a SPARC that I didn't really care for. Dots all seemed way too small for my liking. Really didn't like the multiple circle reticle of the Spitfire and neither did its owner, lol.
  17. Id like to think I had a small role in bringing it to light, lol. I have no idea how the technical stuff works, so thanks Shred!!!!
  18. Well I was sharing gear with a friends since I only have about half of a gun right now myself. He thought irons was going to be fine and after like 3 stages he realized it needed a dot, bad. lol As soon as I get my own setup running, itll have a dot of some kind for SURE
  19. Tried some new things this weekend at the Fort Wayne match and learned a couple things. PCC is really fun. Shooting a PCC with iron sights is hard and I don't care for it, haha.
  20. As someone who is trying out PCC for the first time this Sunday and waiting on some out of stock parts to build my own setup Ill see what I can do...

No new gun? You're slipping... Nice work at the match!
  22. I'm with Jake, that's not enough food for any adult, let alone someone who is burning calories doing anything but laying in bed. What you eat in a day is less than one of my light snacks multiple times a day.
  23. You need to find a better reason to get healthy other than "you want to". Everyone wants to be healthier, or get in shape, lose a pounds, etc. But most fall short or quit too soon. Find a reason that won't let you quit. 4 years of crossfit and healthy eating and I'm in the best shape of my life and getting better by the day. I don't do it all for me, I'm doing it for my 2 little boys.
  24. Our first match allowing them a PCC won HOA. this month we had 5 of them and they all got beat by a Production gun. Its the shooter over the gun. It does look fun tho
