  1. Julien, I was discussing the same thing with forum member A33435 at the EC2004. I looked at the scores of the Standard shooters too. I seemed like very few standard/production shooters had shot a solid/consistent match. The open, modified and revolver guys all shot pretty consistently. My only theory is that most of the targets looked pretty "hoseable" but were in fact quite difficult shots for iron sights. And since there were so many moving targets with slow activators, a lot of the shooting had to be done in between activating the movers/bobbers and shooting the mover/bobber. Forced timed shooting at hard targets surrounded by no-shoots....well....sh!t happens Open/Modified guys can make the hard shots easier/faster with dots 'n comps. Revolver shooters can't shoot many targets in between so they have different solutions for stages. The Standard/Production guys usually pick the same strategy as the Open guys, but without dots those partials are just a tad harder. Just my 2 cents.

    Sights

I love the thin front sights because they give me a better idea of where the bullet will end up on those hard shots and small targets. I find it easier to cal my shots with them.
  3. Ray, I'd love to go. But right now I'm finishing up my education. Financially, I think I won't be able to go to Bali I hope I'm able to find some sponsors in the near future to help me prepare for next years big matches. Right now I shoot about 200 rounds a week and just dryfire a whole lot at home...
  4. Thanks guys! A3, yeah I know what you mean. We've been shooting together for about 3 years now. It's been a little rocky for both of us. I have always enjoyed it when you shot really good. You can perform much better than you have at the EC and I know that. You were just not "all there". I really appreciate your words!
  5. Thanks Eye Cutter! There were some Phillipine shooters as well at the EC2004. Anyone you know?
  6. It feels good. Real good. Nuff said
  7. Yeah, I know the national anthem by heart after the whole prize ceremony! "Please stand up for the Italian National Anthem" I still dream about it Good going Italian shooters!
  8. Gefeliciteerd Arvid!!!! Yeah that is a big cute baby! Way to go, mate! I think we have another one for the National Basketball team here!!!!
  9. Hey guys, I already posted something in the Revo-forum (and I'm going to post something in the Braggin'-forum as well ). I had a great time there. Met up with Dalmas (BTW, Mats I looked at the results and you did a great job shooting that 9milla man!), Even, Julien and many others. I can't wait to go to Ecuador to shoot against my big idol (Jerry M. in case you didn't know! ) I've been walking on clouds ever since I heard I won the match at the ceremony (I hadn't done the math, so I was unsure until the very last moment). I want to thank tha whole bunch of ya! Especially Dalmas, Even, A33435 for being very pleasant company at the match (it was way cool hanging around with you guys!) And Mats, if you see Ralf anytime soon, would you tell him the same thing? It was so cool to see a nice guy like that win a big fat medal! Thanks all!!!!! This place rocks!!!!!
  10. Whew! I just woke up after arriving back home very late. It has been quite the week. Lots of shooting and meeting up with lots of international friends at the Europeans (I finally met Julien after 3 years on the forums ) I shot the match the way I wanted to (made very few mistakes fortunately), dropping an average of 5 points per stage It was great fun meeting up with some of the other Revolver shooters from Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Ecuador, Sweden, Finland and Austria (it seems revolver division attracts a certain "kind" of personality ) Forum member Even was shooting in the squad before me which was great, because he is a really nice and relaxed guy and just talking to him put me in relax-mode before I went to shoot the stage. Anyway, I want to thank everyone here that has contributed to the "improvement-minded-atmosphere". I could not have won this match without these forums! Thanks everyone! Especially the guys 'n gals who put in the BIG work to keep this place running!
  11. I rest my head in shame.......
  12. Clickity Click Some language some of you might not like, but I thought it was funny.
  13. You should be able to know where the shot went very precisely. Not just, "this-was-an-OK-shot-it's-probably-an-A-or-a-C"-precisely. At all dstances and especially with difficult shots, you should know you've made a good enough shot before you can move on. A good drill for this is to shoot groups at different locations on the target. Most people shoot groups at the middle of the A zone. Try shooting some groups at the edge of the C zone, the edge of the D zone or any other spot on the target. I found that doing this will speed up your shot calling ability tremendously (at least for me, YMMV)
  14. Thanks Nik. Damn that's only 2 weeks after the European Championships...
  15. Ah we'll see... It's been a while since Eric didn't win shooting his open blaster (he hasn't lost since '99 actually) When are the Nationals? (I don't have access to the USPSA site )
  16. I thought Eric G. was attending the match?
  17. This was posted on Eric Grauffel's forum. Check out the CLIP

    Relaxation

Dude, he just figured out why he didn't win last week's match. "Oh it's the FRONT sight I have to watch?"
  19. Great news Ron! That's the spirit that will make revolver division grow. I can only say that if you like revolvers now, you'll probably like them forever. Just don't sell this one OK
