Malfunction

What clay sport are you planning to shoot the most, I have a Browning XT Trap that I love. I can use it for sporting because I shoot it so much I know where it shoots with each barrel. Remember most O/U the bottom barrel shoots higher than the top barrel. Bill

Sorry, I disappeared for a while. I appreciate the great advice I always get here, I have decided to save my pennies and buy a Browning O&U, I found a range that rents a variety of Browning shotguns and they have Trap, Skeet and a great sporting clays course. I intend to try a 525 sporting and an XT and see what works the best. July is my birthday and thats my goal. Thanks Bill

I will probably end up shooting more trap than anything else, I live four miles from a great trap range. The nearest skeet or sporting clays range is thirty miles away. I'm sorry it took so long to reply, I was out of town. Thanks very much for the great replies. Bill

I respect the advice of the people posting here. I am seeking advice on buying a shotgun for clays, I am shooting trap more than anything, however I do shoot sporting clays occasionally. I have shot a friends Browning 525 and I love it however I can't come up with the money, I continually look for used guns on the web. I have read and talked to lot's of people who tell me that a good quality over and under is best and as a second choice a Beretta 391. I have found a few Technis Gold 391's fortunately I was warned away because they are nearly as expensive as an o&u. I recently found a Urica 2 30 inch barrel for a reasonable price not as fancy but basically what I am looking for,however it is in Mo. the seller has no previous history on the site. I am leary of sending a Postal money order across several states on the hope that I will receive what was advertised, or that I will receive anything at all. Thanks in advance for the advice. Bill

I stumbled across this used 390, 1 chip in the wood, finished over. Owner says less than 500 rounds, I had a couple of people who are into clays look at it and they gave their approval. Asking $1,400.00, so Beretta 390 technis silver finish receiver, 32" barrel, nice wood except for the chip which is not noticeable, chokes, adjustable comb. What do you think of this shotgun for clay sports and what about the price I haven't tried to negotiate yet. Bill

I have a Glock 34 and a Kimber 1911, I love both but I have been struggling with the 1911. I shoot the Glock much better than the 1911 and from what I read in here this just isn't right. I may have stumbled onto the reason yesterday, I was discussing this with a friend and he asked me where my groups were going and I stated low and left, he then asked me if I was placing pressure on the safety and I said that I think so, he told me to try just placeing my thumb onto the safety with no pressure. I will try this later this week. What do you think ? Bill

I am a Glock shooter trying to adapt to shooting a 1911, with my past history not riding the safety feels more comfortable, however this may not be the most effective. Bill

I bought a Kimber TLE single stack in May 2004 and it just has never felt right, I shoot a Glock 34 and it feels as natural as an old glove. I recently borrowed a friends Para 16-40 and that wide body feels good ! I thought about adding a Hogue grip but I'm not sure it will do the trick. I may have to sell and purchase a wide body, any reccomendations ? Bill

Mike, I have progressive reading glasses with a little distance prescrition, to focus on the front sight all I have to do is tilt my head back a little. I think you can also have that reading prescription placed at the top so that you could dip your head down to focus on the front sight. ( IT'S HELL TO GET OLD ! ) Bill

I put the whole Dawson set on my G34 with an optic front .100, very easy to install ( don't forget the loctite ) great setup. I like the sight picture. If you don't like the optic just use a permanent marker. One complaint, the corners of the sights are too sharp, they will catch on clothing etc. Bill

I was seriously thinking about sending my G34 to CGR for a trigger job however when I called fedex it was $40.00 each way shipping, more than the cost of the trigger job and they were giving me a really hard time about shipping a firearm. Does this sound right ? Bill

Sorry if I'm in the wrong spot, I'm not talking about gaming but I know there are a lot of Glock owners who shoot IDPA and I'm wondering what modifications they make to make the Glock better for IDPA along with not interfering with the dependability of the Glock. I personally have a G 34. Bill

I just bought a Glock 34 and I am interested in replacing the sights. I was pointed toward a set of race cut heinies from CRG however this weekend I was at the annual GSSF at Richmond ca. and ran into a guy who had a set of sights from Dawson, they had a narrow front sight, I believe .100. What do you think, both methods allow more light around the front sight however the heinies have a fatter front sight. With either one of these will I have to take them to a gunsmith or are they dropin's. Bill
