  1. Congrats! They're nice 'n shiny aren't they
  2. Hi Omar, welcome and enjoy your stay
  3. Looks like you've already made your decision Good luck!
  4. I think you should shoot your revolver! (Of course, that is my answer to all questions)
  5. I think we don't need them. Besides, they'll probably end up being used the wrong way (like, at 50 meters or up close)

    Perfume

As with all things, too much is not good.
  7. Rainman, those used to be my fav rubber grip. I like them much better than the Hogues. They're thinner side to side, but longer front to back. They feel more like an autoloader grip.
  8. Hi Dan, From what I hear you say (web just below the hammer and the grip as high as possible) it sounds as if you or your friend have watched Jerry M's video I started out with the Hogue grooved rubber grip and quickly cut the finger grooves off. I found that fingergrooves in combination with the rubber would be very unforgiving in adjusting the grip during the draw. It's kind of a personal thing I guess, but I like hard grips (wood or other) with a griptape texture. This combination is not tacky and forgiving, but if you put pressure on the grips, it's rock solid. Only downside for some people may be that in the beginning, it's very harsh on the skin (but just shoot it 4-5 times and you'll be OK) Also the grip has to fit YOUR hand. When I first saw Saul Kirsch's "home made" grip, I thought "That's one weird looking thing", but it made sense immediately. His grip looks big and has a large contacting area with his hand. I made a grip like that and superglued skateboard tape on it. The one thing I noticed when shooting it for the first time was that I could have a very relaxed grip to achieve the same amount of recoil control. I hope this helps. Good luck!
  9. Thanks Luca, but I wasn't referring to myself Ouch!

    Finger bite

I'm with Flexmoney on this one. When I put the big serrated trigger on my revolver, it took the skin clean off after an hour of dry fire. I let it heal and continued dry fire after a day or two. First I got a big bulge on my finger and now it has a normal shape again, but the skin is really tough. No more problems. I can dry fire all day long (and I usually do )
  11. Yeah, maybe there's still room for a TAPGO.... (The Also Pretty Good One)
  12. That's a good thing I think, BUT..... What do you want exactly? Do you want to be competitive? In that case, forget all about the existence of a PERFECT gun. Any gun that has good sights a decent trigger, competitive capacity in .40 S&W and 100% reliability will do. This includes Glock, Para, CZ, Bul, EAA/Tanfoglio etc. Get one, get a nice reloading setup and spend the rest of the money on reloading components and PRACTICE You'll be kicking ass in no time. If you want to be competitive, does it HAVE to be in Limited class? Production is a growing division and is currently IMO the most competitive division It's a lot easier on the wallet and ammo can be bought instead of being reloaded. You'll save lots of money. Or, do you just want a nice gun? In that case, only you can decide what you like best. Hope this helps. BTW, welcome aboard Chris!
  13. Sad but true in lots of marriages
  14. Welcome Les! I hope you will enjoy these forums as much as most people here. Björn
  15. Your welcome. Eric G. uses that same gun for Standard/Limited shooting. If you have any technical questions about the Tanfos, I suggest Eric G's Forum. He works on all his Tanfoglios himself. The English is a bit "foreign", though
  16. robomanusa, I just checked the EAA site and it seems like the Limited Custom HC is listed under firearms --> Target pistols --> Witness Limited. I haven't seen any other "recent" Tanfoglio guns at their site though.
  17. argh......(slaps his forehead). Does this mean I owe you lots of .38 sooper brass now? Now I understand why all of those Hollywood houses are so cheap
  18. Rob, please PM me. I can get you some $20.000/1000 .38 super brass. For that price I'll even ship it overseas to the US for free
  19. To me, it would be so I can shoot my Glock 17 production loads in my revolver. Saves me an extra reloading setup.

    IPSC reloads

Yeah that's a good attitude man! And congrats on achieving your goal!
  21. Dang! You haven't even been shooting wheelguns for a year? LOL, keep it up man. Eventually, we'll get him
  22. Nice post Sam. Jerry does seem like a nice guy from all the stories I've heard. I cannot wait to meet him. Only 320 days to go BTW, nice result you've got yourself there mate! I would never hate being 2nd next to Jerry.
  23. Jesse, I've been there. I feel for you. The biggest disappointment in my life was when I found out that "the one" in my life did something that showed me that when push came to shove, was very selfish and mean. Just hang in there and be glad you're not the mean one
  24. Click the link to read that Matt McLearn thinks Physical Fitness helps him a lot. Clickity Click
  25. I just got back from the range and a drill where I shot a target, an imaginary target and another target. I accept more visually on the imaginary target. That, or I see what I need to see faster. I think this is because I only have to allign the sights and don't have to check the relationship between the sights and the target. I confirm the location of the target, move the gun there and there's no more confirming to do before I finish the shot. Maybe I should dry fire with targets that are further away than the mini targets at 3 yds so I have to shift my focus more. Well, that drill taught me something new, but it didn't answer the question that started this thread. Or maybe it did. It showed me that when you dry fire, you should not let dry fire become a different game than live fire. Reloads from the real targets to the imaginary one are fast though I pulled a 1.45 and a 1.47 today. My first ones under 1.5 s
