  1. I remember that stage...”two mike, one fte”. Still had me confused on the drive home.?
  2. Brownells has a file for this, with the safety edges. File a very little, see if that's what you want, file a bit more, etc. By very little I mean only a few strokes.
  3. I used an o-ring of the proper thickness, same result. Then replaced it with a Millet.
  4. 1.250, .469 taper crimp. Works in all my single stacks and my Para. That's what I load for SS, but for 2xStack I load 1.235. Do you think that also applies to SWC? The lack of ogive gives me pause - or because of it, can load long (1.250)? The reason I ask all this is I'm not that fond of wasting reloading materials w/o cause as they have gotten expensive. Thanks, -jb ps my taper is .469 - .471. Same-same. I only run SWC. Same round for SS and P14 Para.
  5. 1.250, .469 taper crimp. Works in all my single stacks and my Para.
  6. Yep, then we'll need a spec trigger pull gauge, that will have to be certified annually, and the one used at major matches will be a different color than those available to us. Analog or digital? And the exact spot the gauge will be placed on the magazine will not be defined anywhere in the rule book. Did you miss that the trigger pull requirement was removed in USPSA? Did you miss that the reference to a trigger pull gauge had nothing to do with triggers, but with seating magazines?
  7. That is awesome, Congratulations..! Thanks, guys. It's been an incredible year.
  8. Paul, the best of 2011 is the continuation of the story I've told some of those we shoot with.. Earlier this year I got in touch with the sweetest woman I've ever known. We hadn't spoken or communicated since we were divorced in 1973. We spent a few days together in the Adirondacks in September and realized that we'd missed each other terribly for all that time. We met again for Thanksgiving at her sister's in Oregon, where she agreed to marry me again. She came home with me and we were married here in Colorado on Dec 11. Life is good.
  9. We do have some shooters from your area/Vail compete regularly.
  10. If you're east of the Divide www.ecouspsa.com has all the information you need.
  11. Welcome. Are you going to come shoot with us?
  12. I'm hoping that Paul Jr has put that into hibernation rather than bringing it to our club. We do have a Qualifier coming up next month..
  13. I use vented Oakley M-Frames. 100 degree match today, no fogging.
  14. I put a new one in the end of May. It was bright right up to the end of the first stage of today's match. Open the door, two US Poppers left to shoot, 4 rounds in the mag, no dot...static reload...
  15. I think you might be looking at the 2008 version. That wording doesn't appear in the current rulebook (simply an oversight, I hope). Yep,Blue book Jan 2008, the only one I have.
  16. Appendix D4-22 is pretty specific. Specifically prohibited modifications and features. "Prototype and single action only handguns."

    Divorce

It doesn't get any better with practice.
  18. Ricochets...I've been hit with plenty of them off steel, anyone shooting for any length of time has. A serious incident at a GSSF match some years ago.. I was watching one courses of fire being run, on my right was a friend's wife, then her husband, then another shooter- a big guy. Big guy grunts, hits the ground. It appeared that he'd suffered a GSW to the upper thigh- entrance hole, fat protruding through the hole. Ambulance ride to the ER... He'd been hit with a fully expanded jacket, like a mini Ninja star, looked like a .45. and it went right to the bone. It wasn't off steel, probably a rock or target frame. Reconstructing it later, it appeared that it had to have travelled directly in front of three of us to hit the victim. A neck hit hit would have been pretty serious, to say the least. So, not just steel..
  19. Another vote for VZ. I use the Diamond grips on mine. I spoke with the owner, told him I wanted the most aggressive grips he had, short of making my hands bleed, he sent me the Diamonds.
  20. So a revolver shooter, using those carriers that the moon clips slide "on to", not "in to" would be disallowed? Sounds like an overzealous RO.
  21. "This needs fixed", or "that needs fixed". Aaargh!! It needs TO BE fixed. Maybe it's a Colorado thing, I never heard it anywhere else.
  22. Nice! I just sold one- '11 2SS/RS Victory Red. I spent more time waxing/cleaning than driving. Just didn't fit my lifestyle.
  23. Good news, Charlie. Open Dot will be at the next workday, making sure all those walls go to the ground. Thanks in advance, Open Dot.
  24. I believe it's a problem with the specs on the dillon powder funnel, just on the .45. If you're loading lots of new brass, call Starline, I think they can modify it for you. Once you've fired it, it's not a problem any more. I load .45, .40, and .38Super on two different 550's, and I've only encountered the problem with .45's.
  25. Try 5.4 gr WW231, 1.250 OAL, .469" taper crimp.
