  1. It happened to me twice this weekend, Saturday and Sunday
  2. It looks like you have spent more than $100.... Try Pro Ears. I have the originals, bought when they first came on the scene, probably 12 or 15 years ago. They're as good today as when I bought them. Change batteries every couple of years.. I think you'll find that plenty of people here use them.
  3. Totally soaked...I fell into a stream while fyfishing- J-frame in my pocket. When I got home I drenched it with WD40, then took the sideplate off, drenched it with more WD40, then cleaned and lubed it as usual. No rust, no problems, all the dunked ammo worked fine as well. I don't think your gun can get more soaked than that.
  4. Shooter's Connection has a rain cover for their big gear bag that will do the job. It'll probably be a litte big for your Uncle Mike's bag. As for the rest, just basic outdoor rain gear.
  5. Yep, then we'll need a spec trigger pull gauge, that will have to be certified annually, and the one used at major matches will be a different color than those available to us. Analog or digital? And the exact spot the gauge will be placed on the magazine will not be defined anywhere in the rule book.
  6. And you'll want to install a beavertail grip safety, or at least bob the hammer.
  7. When I first started shooting USPSA matches my pistol was a Gold Cup. I shot 10's of thousands of rounds through it, no problems with the collet bushing. The fix for the rear sight is simple- after sighting in, measure the gap between the sight base and the top with a feeler gauge. Remove the elevation screw, insert an o-ring of the appropriate size, reinsert the elevation screw, and use the feeler gauge to get back to the proper gap. Your roll pin won't break, and you will not have irreparably damaged the sight.
  8. I figured that if the back of the magazine is flat against the raised part of the gauge, it was good. Funny, isn't it, that there isn't a depiction of the gauge in the rule book.
  9. 5" 2011, Scheumann barrel, 180 gr Lazer Cast flat point (which is about 178 gr)- 4.8 231 makes 167pf. 5.0 makes 176. Small rifle primer, 8000 ft altitude, so your results may vary.
  10. Hey, a real stud would have done all that with a revolver....lmao That sounds like a challenge/opportunity. Got everything but Open. Maybe next Classifier only match, I will sign up as Open with a S&W 625. Three- Open, Limited, SS. I really don't see the revo thing happening, but who knows what the futere holds?
  11. Don't do that. I haven't used every type of primer that's available, I guess some may not come in the little trays, but- when you slide the primer tray out of it's little sleeve all the primers are facing the same way, either up or down. If the anvils are all facing up, like Wolf. just take the tray with the primers in one hand and put one piece of the flip tray on top of it. FLIP it over and the primers are ready to pick up with the primer tube. If the primers are all anvil down in their container, it's the same procedure but you have to do it a second time.
  12. Sure, I know where that is, Ct's not a big state. I grew up in Woodbury. And yes, life does get in the way sometimes....
  13. Welcome. What town in Connecticut are you from?
  14. None of the holes in the edge of the door frame are mine....
  15. Interesting... about 2/3 of our squad shot Stage 3- that "lean around" target- through the space between the door frame and the barrel. Stage 4- I spoke with Paul Jr after the match, he shot the first 3 targets strong hand, kept his body square downrange, instead of turning to the right. I learn something new every weekend...
  16. ECOUSPSA.com will give you all the info you need on local clubs. As far as a local FFL, are you shipping your guns to Wyoming? If you're driving, just pack them and arrive. Wyoming is still Free America, you don't have to register your stuff.
  17. CR Speed, because I love the sound of an expensive pistol hitting the ground. Going to try the new DAA when I get the $ for it.
  18. Yep, Igloo marine coolers are white, and their insulation is thicker than their regular ones.
  19. If you're shooting a 1911/2011, this is one cool tool. I can't believe it took me so long to find it. Getting the extractor out of the slide on a .45 is pretty easy without it, .40 gets to be more of a pita, and .38 Super drove me crazy. This tool just wedges the extractor tip over, using one hand, and you pry the extractor back with the other. A DP screwdriver is included to do the prying with, I prefer a brass punch. For $14.95 it can't be beat. No, I'm not related to Dave Dawson...
  20. 285 South to Pine Jct, left on 126.
  21. I was first classified as C. As with some others, that was back in prehistory, before divisions.
  22. Good deal! That was a good match. Next weekend Aurora and Clear Creek. Say hello...
  23. Come shoot this weekend- HPPS Saturday, Weld Sunday. It's going to be nice and cool out on the plains tomorrow..
