  1. A page or two back it was mentioned that everyone would be in the PS. But increased match fee drew some negative comments. Make the increase proportioned to the match. A sectional/ other match $2.50 per, an area match $5.00 per, and the Nationals $10.00 per. This would increase the total money availible without over taxing a smaller matches and few required matches to make easier to have a chance to win. Just a thought, Rich
  2. When the "classic" target came out the first thing I said and I still say it " Put a 6x6 area on top with a A-B zone and you have the perfect target." If it did have that 6x6 area on top you could turn the target more than 90 degrees. I'm all for all of the targets be "classic" at the Nationals. Maybe it's about time some people learn to aim each shot fired, but hey who cares it's just my opinion. Rich
  3. I'd say Caspian is a viable option. In about two weeks I will have my basepads made and I will be selling 20 round .40 mags. Later, Rich
  4. Krag, I've been shooting a 40 in Prod. for the last 2 years. It's a great choice very soft shooting. I"ve been using 150's and 180's JHPs . Rich
  5. I guess my mailman finished reading my rule book. He left it in the box with all the pages dog eared. Rich
  6. Hong Kong and Canada can get the book before Illinois! I doubt my mailman is reading it. The USPS working at its best. Rich
  7. Sent an app. in yesterday, looks like Production is going to be a race. With all of the guys who said their shooting Prod. that I have talked to and read here. Rich
  8. There is nothing wrong with how Production is scored right now. Having the B zone scored as 4 points would be justified if we only shot at the head only all of the time. How many times have you seen a shooter shoot at a wide open target with 1 round in the body A zone and 1 round in the head A zone (or B zone)? Did the shooter actually AIM at the head or was just lucky they hit the head. Giving a extra point for luck isn't what I think this sport is about. As for slowing down to shoot Prod. go ahead just don't think you are going to be competitive at the top of the game. I have had this disscusion many a times with shooters and I always tell them the same thing. I shoot as fast as the sights tell me to shoot. I ask them in Limited you shoot faster because a C is only down one point and it doesn't hurt your score that much! The whole point is to shoot two A's as fast as you can not two C's. There is more important things to talk about in Prod. than a B hit should score 4 points. Just a mini rant, Rich
  9. I'll second #2 is false.I believe it says, No exterior modifications other than notch and post sights. Can't find my red book, hopefully we will all have a new rule book soon. Rich
  10. I would recomend the XD if you also shoot a 1911 gun, grip angle the same. Triggers can be sweet ( shameless plug mode #2 pull 1/4 over all travel is the average when I get done with it).Stock sight aren't the best but plenty of options. If you don't want to reload 9mm Tactical. I like the 40 over the 9 much softer than a 9 with reloads. Best thing to do is go shoot all the guns that your interested in then decide for yourself. Rich
  11. First off in my post I didn't say non-citizens are not welcome to shoot the Nationals as some have assumed. They are more than welcome to come and play. My whole point is USPSA recognizes the highest US shooter with the title but casts aside citizenship for class winners. There are alot shooters who take alot of pride in getting a trophy from the Nationals. These shooters get very discouraged when a shooter manipulates the system to gain fleeting glory at the prize table. The prize table will never go away because sponsors use product instead of cash. Prize tables only serve to create disscusions like this one and possibly get someone to buy their product. Rich P.S. I personally think prize tables should be banned at all matches by USPSA but, it's not going to because of $$$$$$$$$. Lets shoot heads up sandbaggers will die off and so will the classification system but USPSA needs the money.
  12. It is very simple, to win the National TITLE you must be a US citizen or hold a green card. To win the CLASS title in Division you must be a US citizen or hold a green card. I know of several people who got second place in class to a non citizen or no trophy for placing fourth because of non citizens. It's the US Nationals people only US citizens or green card holders should recieve titles or trophies. Just my opinion. Rich
  13. I think I know where you can get everything on that gun except the grip mods for under $900 and a little more than what SA does offer. Rich
  14. Detlef, We were all looking for you on the squad. What happened? Angus would have been closer if it wasn't for a few problems. Next year is going to be one hell of a match with the new people coming up and the people who are dedicated to the Division. It's not going to be a sure thing for Dave. Rich
  15. One idea that was talked about was having Prod.,L-10 and Revo shoot Mon., Tues. and Wed. AM. Awards and prize table Wed. night. Shoot offs Thur. at lunch time. Open and Limited start Wed. afternoon and finish on Friday. Shoot offs Sat. AM followed by awards and prize table. Everything held at the range. No double entries, pick your Division and shoot. Rich
  16. Try Noslers 135 and 150 grain hollowpoints very good bullet and Vit 310 for minor. Rich
  17. JC, I recommend Safariland 773 (s&w/ber92) they have the rollers and give good spacing between mags to grap them. At first I used my mag holders for SVI but, JA ruled no mods to mag holders(I had rounded the corners). I also use the Safariland 5182 holster. Rich
  18. Issue before a Nationals? Can we say 3-Gun Nationals. Oh, my mistake Multi-Gun Nationals. Rich
  19. I'm sure some else some where presented this thought, if not here we go.If by definition a DA has more than one firing componate move how does the Glock fit in ie.The gun has a loaded chamber ready to fire, the trigger is pulled there is a light hit on the primer. You can pull on the trigger until you get tired and the Glock will not reset itself to fire the round. A TRUE DA will. The slide has to be manipulated to reset the gun to fire again. So with this example I think the Glock should be banned from IPSC Production. Just a thought, Rich
  20. Steve, Hp's are no problem for this gun. I've got one gun I've fired 20,000 + threw it without a hicup. Rich
  21. I've been using 9mm dies and a .223 shellplate from the start ( over 8 years) no problems. Don't mind the coke bottle effect. Rich
  22. Yes make it 10 years in a row Rob won by the narrowest of margins 14 points. Taran Butler was second gave Rob a good run for his money. Rich
