  1. Really glad I understand Reloading. That is a confusing sentence for beginners!?
  2. Must be a local decision because my Kroger’s store still has some.
  3. I’ll bet more of those shoes are knock offs than people are willing to admit
  4. Put a bearing on it and tighten the plate pretty snug. Problem solved
  5. Still listed in their store so it seems to still be available. Change out the milspec Trigger and good to go. Mine works fine but I’m only going to play with it a time or two a year locally. If you are going to get serious and go full PCC then you will start changing so many parts that you may as well build one from scratch.
  6. Slower powder typically means more gas for a given charge. More gas means more comp effectiveness which equals flatter generally speaking. When you find a gunpowder that is so clean as to equal “eating off the floor” clean, please let us know. In my experience some powders are cleaner than others but none are really that clean.
  7. ? I know Chandler too. Still pretty dirty in an Open gun. But it’s good there may be a hole angle issue.
  8. Try some fully Jacketed or plated bullets. BBI are great Bullets but too dirty for m to run in Open
  9. Keep in mind that the match as YOUR gun. Powders, bullets, even primers can perform drastically different from gun to gun. N320 can be beat but it takes an awfully big stick.
  10. I have done that several times at every level of match . It seems a readable accommodation to me even though it’s probably not going to be 100% accurate
  11. Just google 5-40 flathead and go from there
  12. You can say range NAZI if it makes you feel better. I should see Troy and at least 3-4 RM’s tomorrow. I’ll ask them what react means
  13. They are different in my opinion. If I don’t know for a fact a shooter violated a rule there can’t be a call. Such as breaking the 180. No such thing as “I think he did it”. I must be certain. If a shooter reacts to a beep per the rules and I see it there is no doubt. But if he reacts and then says he wasn’t sure about it, then I let it slide, that would be giving him the benifit of the doubt, which isn’t what we are supposed to do in this case.
  14. I’m running about 7.5 WAC @1.168 over 172 in my guns with PD 124JHP. I find Federal SRP and CCI SPP perform nearly identical
  15. Life is tough. It’s even tougher when you’re stupid.
  16. Gary, DNROI does. But DNROI and BOD also make the rules. If the rules exist there must be a reason. There also must be a desire that they be followed. I was taught long ago to not create a policy that wasn’t going to be enforced. I think the same thing holds true here. We have all said and heard countless times, intent is not part of the rulebook, or there is no such thing as benifit of the doubt goes to the shooter, yet here we are thinking that should suddenly apply here. The rule says “reacts”. You interpret that to mean gun drawn. I interpret it to mean literally what it says, reacts. I don’t want to screw shooters and YOU know I never will or have. But if the rulebook said something like, “in the event the shooter seems unsure of the start signal after reacting he will be stopped and issued a reshoot.” Or whatever. I don’t write rules I just try to enforce them as written. And I have to go on record as saying I think the whole train of thought that POS squad members should be ROed differently is a load of crap. Every shooter who comes to the line with me will be treated EXACTLY the same from make ready until the targets are scored. I certainly don’t treat shooters with kid gloves where rules are concerned but I don’t think filling the rules and applying them makes one a Dick RO
  17. Following the rules has to fit in there someplace though
  18. I agree he got screwed by poor ROing. I disagree with your last sentence though. What is reasonable doubt? Beep he Reaches for his gun. What is there to doubt? He reacted.
  19. A hard of hearing shooter will generally just stand there. They will not react
  20. Wait. So I’m wrong but we support being tougher on a shooter who is a slacker or a PITA?!? HOW IS THAT RIGHT?
  21. There are just too many slippery slopes when it comes to rules. Once you go over the edge there is no turning back. AND after reading the rule again I may agree that even turning to say something is reacting. Good catch and welcome to hardassville 8.3.4 “ Start Signal ” – The signal for the competitor to begin their attempt at the course of fire. If a competitor fails to react to a start signal, for any reason, the Range Officer will confirm that the competitor is ready to attempt the course of fire, and will resume the range commands from “Are You Read y?”. 8.3.4.1 In the event that a competitor begins his attempt at the course of fire prematurely (“false start” prior to the issuance of the start signal) the Range Officer will, as soon as possible, stop and restart the competitor once the course of fire has been restored
  22. What if he went for the gun and got a s#!tty grip or had a holster locked and then said he wasn’t sure it was his beep he heard? Now you have to play twenty questions with him. If you just follow the rules when he reacts it’s much easier.
