  1. Pro grip for hot sweaty hands. Pole dancer grip enhancer for pouring rain.
  2. No such off the shelf animal exists.
  3. In my mind, unless you are LEO running duty gear, you are doing it wrong if shooting USPSA with a retention rig. All this hubbub over something we rarely see and there is an effective rule to address it.
  4. Yeah. I run 3 in the mount then two through the rest.
  5. There wasn’t a ruling made. DNROI responded to the shooters question about it after an RO had a problem with it. The correspondence was posted here.
  6. Are you saying you use the Alpha X in Production?
  7. I have known guys who do that. While I personally always thought it was dumb because I would inevitably launch a round, I never thought it to be against the rules. There was clarification from DNROI that it was permitted. It was mentioned on here probably 5 years ago or more. Also, it is not prohibited in 8.7 where sight pics are addressed.
  8. If you are in that wet of an environment I would just buy a sheet of coroplast from home depot($23)and paint it brown. Trace out some metric targets and practice.
  9. Only problem is this could be misconstrued to even include locks on race holsters.
  10. Yes the rule was quoted. But it amazes me how several folks still thought it was ok to flip off safe as soon as they touch the gun. If the gun is still holstered and flip safety off that’s a DQ without question. It’s pretty hard to catch though as things happen so fast. The one case I saw was a guy drawing and holster was left locked. He grabbed gun and flipped off safety and gun never left holster. He was DQed when RO noticed safety off while trying to draw.
  11. A little unnecessary weight for one. A shooter should be able to figure out what works best for him and not need one on each side?
  12. Agreed. And I have had brand new RO’s tell us if they screw something up to please speak up. The seasoned RO’s here will all frown upon any stop calls made by the peanut gallery pertaining to the shooter on the COF.
  13. You quoted my comment about a dropped gun. A competitor can’t pick up a dropped gun. That’s a DQ . An RO working the match must pick up a dropped gun or supervise it being picked up. And I think it’s pretty clear what an RO is. It’s been shown in the rules by 7.3.2 .
  14. To me there is a difference in an RO (probably new) seeing a shooter point a gun at the squad and not taking action and an RO not catching a 181 on a run. And you and I both know an RO at a local can DQ a shooter.... I see it like this. At major matches staff are still competitors. They shot the match already typically but are still listed in the results etc. By your logic they couldn’t DQ a shooter either. At local we obviously don’t do that so we have to figure out how say the RO is not a competitor while running shooters.
  15. I’m really not being an ass but now you are just being silly. I said the rules are geared toward large matches. So we have to figure out how to adapt locals
  16. I’m sure it doesn’t. But go to nationals and pick up a dropped gun and see who is right. Or even come to my match and do it. I’ll turn it over to the RM. maybe you’ll get a softy that will let it fly.
  17. I shoot 4-5 locals and they all have a designated RO Per squad. We are very RO heavy in my Section. The vast majority of shooters around here are certified. We literally never have an uncertified guy run shooters. Big difference between a perceived 180 break and pointing a gun at shooters.
  18. You IDPA guys......? unless it’s the guys first USPSA match I just say make ready on uprange starts. Most guys I shoot with want to turn and draw a time or two before shooting the stage.
  19. My last 8lb jug was 3/10ths grain different from current jug.
  20. Different LOTS of powder can also be waaay different which is why recipes always need to be taken with a grain of salt .
  21. And on the other side of the plate the seating die induced leverage as well. So, like I said you need a full shell plate to produce the most consistency
  22. Again, if you read the USPSA rule book this is not true in all cases. For level I matches there are no requirements other than a willingness to help Appendix A1
  23. Like I said a real RO is one who is actively engaged as part of the match. Usually it , “hey Sarge, you wanna run a squad for me?” If yes then I’m an RO. If no them I’m just a veteran CRO shooting the match with zero authority. Now, I do get asked a lot of rules questions and I try to help out in that regard. But it has to be a blatant obvious thing for anybody else to stop a shooter. Sometimes new shooters do dumb things. I have been scoring targets and heard “STOP”. Come to find out the on deck shooter put his gun on the table already for table start. I have watched a new shooter airgunning his draw and knock his gun out of his holster. I called stop to try to keep him from picking it up but he did anyway.? One thing that screws us all up on occasion is that the rules are really written for level II and up. Often, locals are left out and left up to us to adapt.
