  1. Max Michel's been working with Sig on development of the "new" Romeo 3 MAX .......it seems to be wonderful in all respects (but we've heard that before, time will tell).......it will apparently be available to consumers at the end of July/2019....one thing I find rather strange is I heard it shares the same footprint as the Vortex Razor and CMore RTS2, strange as the footprint for Romeo 1 was the DeltaPoint Pro...you can view some info on the Romeo 3 MAX on Max Michel's Facebook page
  2. tried them all......CMore RTS2 6moa is the best of all worlds....way easier controls and acquisition of dot than the DPP 2.5moa , just as big a window, good reliability and construction
  3. you do ihat preliminarily the DPP was the chosen optic with the Vortex Venom maybe a distant third that the CMore RTS2 is DEFINITELY the way to go , no problems, all the right attributes and no misgivings........the correct sizing plate is the one they make for the Venom Viper I believe
  4. ....my local dealer had me first on the list when the new CZ Shadow 2 Optic Ready came in from the factory ....too close to Christmas and spent the money I had waiting for it since March just last month on a new German Shepherd pup, so had to turn it down.........so they ARE in Canada (my dealer in Vancouver just had 5 of them come in the door).... $1499 Cdn......now it looks like next spring or summer before I will be able to get my hands on one......probably they will be in the US by then
  5. Not true, and, I assume you meant MINI red dots..............the RTS2 (after its long struggle with reliability) has proved completely reliable with its v4 version, not only on Production div guns shooting minor but also Open div guns shooting major
  6. RTS2 (by CMore)......tried the Vortex Venom 6moa (good brightness, controls, battery replacement and manufacturers warranty.....but sight window is too small), tried the DPP (don't like the triangle, the 2.5 dot although small gets bigger as brightness level increases but it starts to "flare" leaving it without a really nice crisp dot, don't like the controls, don't like how heavy it is....do like the brightness, construction, and window size).........RTS2..best of everything: construction, reliability (now that version4 is reliable), nice crisp dot, nice brightness, good controls, not much heavier than the lighter red dot sights, good manufacturers warranty, battery replacement, window size (only negative is fairly expensive to buy due to the quality of construction: as is DPP and especially the RMR)
  7. Correct.....as in the case of the original Shadow 2 for some reason the US is a little later on the list...just guessing but probably not until sometime in 2019 (possibly due to the fact you are allowed to mill your slide yourself in USPSA Carry Optics div whereas in IPSC (the rest of the world) only the factory milled Optics Ready are allowed (rules may drastically change after the General Assembly on Sept 16 where a proposal to allow personal milling of the slide to accept an optic is being considered, among a huge list of other changes)
  8. the Canadian distributor for CZ told us the Shadow 2 Optic Ready will not be available until some time in November, the P-10C probably a little sooner
  9. latest word about Shadow 2 Optic Ready from the Canadian CZ distributor : the CZ factory told them November delivery date
  10. If you're finding your DPP is not bright then it is either a defective new "lemon" or has something else going wrong with it.....I've owned all three: Vortex Venom (6moa), RTS2 (6moa) and DPP (2.5moa).....they are about the brightest dots you can buy...the DPP when turned up full bright really makes the dot "bloom", unfortunately I like a very crisp round dot (too bad DPP does not make a 6moa round dot): so am now using the RTS2 which seems to have everything I need in a good dot.....light(at least compared to a DPP), good construction, very bright dot, crisp round dot, a large viewing window, battery change without removing from slide, easy to use controls, manufacturers warranty , and finally they are dependable now that they have the V4
  11. It's a very commonplace occurence living in a 10 round mag capacity place such as Canada where you also shoot in the US sometimes....You purchase mags that can accomodate 15 or more rounds.....in the state (or country) you live with a 10 round restriction you "pin" them so they cannot accept more than 10 rounds....go out of state where 15 can be used and you "unpin" those mags so they can be used to full capacity...you "re-pin" those mags before you go back home to your 10 round restricted state (or country)
  12. I did not think the bolt pattern for the Vortex Venom was the same as the DPP, correct me if I'm wrong, thanks
  13. Yes, springs are the same
  14. Trinimon....as far as IPSC goes the Shadow 2 Optic Ready is already on the Production Approved List (making it also approved for Production Optics)
  15. Rowdy....I knew last summer you were having a problem with the Henning mag bases allowing you to overinsert during slide lock situations, so switched them out to another brand.....was the problem the wrong Henning bases or what ?....I now see you are running Henning plus mag bases on your Carry Optics Shadow 2....what bases are you running on your Shadow 2 when shooting Production div ?
  16. the milled for optic rear portion uses an adaptor plate for different optics.......apparently the factory is working on coming out with a plate with an attached iron rear sight so you can take the optic off and put the rear cover plate on to use it for production
  17. I agree totally, not much sense having a backup that is a different model (even if similar)....seeing you shoot both sides of the border it would be ultimate to have a match gun (and a backup) that could be used on either side of the border
  18. Chili....go ahead and go with the Q5 optic Walther..........that will move me up on the Wolverine wait list which I put a deposit down for the Shadow 2 OR in the middle of March, not sure where I stand on the wait list....when did you wait list to be #1 ??
  19. Slavex...what's your perception of how it feels with the buffer as opposed to without ?.....also, I notice you shoot 147 grain bullets, what is your perception of 124 grain (and would that make any difference with an optic installed ie. faster cycling for quicker dot tracking ? )...thanks
  20. Rowdy.....I'm sure you trialed shooting without any buffers, did you notice anything at all in difference of feel with or without the buffer and if so then what ?....thanks
  21. similar experience, after trying both I'm back to running an RTS2 as its easier to turn on/off, just as bright and doesn't flare so I find it more accurate as the dot is a crisp 6moa instead of a "flared 2.5moa trying to be a 6moa"
  22. I had hoped that one of the rules of IPSC Production Optics would be that only guns with optic installed would be allowed, iron sighted Production guns have their own division and there is a different skill to attain using an optic as opposed to iron sights........but it seems there is alot of opposition to that viewpoint from various people on Global Village.........I have realized after shooting several club matches that the iron sight only guys have an advantage on shorter distance target stages and feel if only optic installed were allowed then everyone would be on an equal footing as far as sighting systems and closeness of target arrays go..........oh well, the final rules aren't drafted yet, let's cross our fingers and see what happens at this years IPSC Conference
  23. What country IPSC Nationals ?.....almost all the IPSC Regions are running IPSC Production Optics rules that do not require an optic installed.......and as far as USPSA Carry Optics I believe you must have optic sight installed but whether they are working or not and still stay in the division I guess might be debatable
  24. I agree with the thin safety....thumb never interferes with it and is legal
