  1. That's what I shoot and that's my class, look forward to shooting with/against you!!! That's great John we will see you there.
  2. I run the X frame grips off of my 460. I have large hands and needed a little extra trigger each, the recoil pad at the top of the grips helps also.
  3. Does the trigger deactivate the firing pin safety or the trigger safety? I ask because I don't know much about Vanek's triggers.
  4. I will return again this year. To much fun to miss out on it. I should have 1 maybe 2 coming with me this year.
  5. Not trying to turn this into a revolver thread but I don't fully agree with the above. The reason there are 5 divisions is so a ssr revolver doesn't compete against a esp 2011 9mm. Having said that I do agree that I have shot many stages that were not even close to revolver friendly and I try to take revolvers into consideration when I set up my stages. Things like the set up talked about in this stage is pretty obvious. However some revolver shooters complain when everything is not broken into 6 shot array's, so I think the entire revolver species get labeled as "the boy that dried wolf" Strick Not trying to turn this into a revolver thread either. My statement was meant for the MDs of our sport to walk a mile in a wheelgunners shoes to better understand course design. I also don't want the world in multiples of 6 either, just make sure the course design has the elements in it to allow me to complete it according to the rules. All the discussion in this thread is geared toward that. One of us pointed out that all Divisions would have to take a head shot at distances greater than the rule book allows to finish the stage. In the end there will always be stages that suit one division over another(even if only slightly) and we do the best we can with what we are given.
  6. I just noticed your post with the rule and definition Having shot revolver for the past several years almost exclusively, I have run in to some stage that were difficult for a revo shooter. I just ask enough questions to figure out how to do my best with the stage and go from there. Not enough match directors shoot revolvers to understand the unique challenges the guns offer. I would challenge any IDPA match director to shoot a revolver for 6 months(including at least one sanctioned match) to help increase there understanding of the round gun. Some of them might find they enjoy it. Wayne Ritchie IDPA Area Coordinator Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana
  7. no it is not. The ruling passed down recently is for the gen 4 guns only since they come with a dual recoil spring assembly. To my knowledge this assembly will not retrofit to older guns. Jager products makes an uncaptured polymer rod that is legal if you need to change spring. though it is still legal for ESP

    GP6 in ssp

Robert Ray also shot one for a little while for a tactical journal article. Since the gun is essentially a Grand Power K100 with a different slide the Production #s are already high enough for SSP. The frames are even still marked as Grand Power. My girlfriend also has one it shoots great but the slide lock is to sensitive for me.
  9. let me say I suck at the classifier but I shoot extremely well in a match environment. I have received my current classifications with the exception of ESR through sanctioned match bumps(I bumped myself in ESR at nationals 2 years ago when I won my Div and Class). When I recently renewed my ESR classification I just barely shot an expert time for the first time ever with that gun, so I can back up my current ranking. I don't know if I just cant stand still and shoot or if I thrive on the competition aspect of matches but that is where I shoot my best.
  10. if they make weight and fit the box they are legal. I cant remember if the SCT sigs have the sort of magwell type grips on them though, IDPA made the Para ordance tac s illegal for SSP even though it is double action because para put a magwell on it from the factory
  11. I got lucky and found my 15 for 175 at a local gun shop. A friend of mine called me and I happened to have money to spend for once. I also tried both jet loader and Comp III and came to the conclusion the Comp III work best for me. a decent trigger job can still light any primer if you don't get crazy with the trigger pull, mine go at just under 9lbs and i have never had a problem with factory ammo or the wolf primers that I use unless I don't seat them all the way or I had one that didn't have any mix in it.
  12. Thanks Duane and John. I picked that gun just to prove that DA/SA guns can still be competitive in SSP if a shooter choose to train properly
  13. CDP- EX ESP- EX ESR- EX SSR- MA Now SSP- MA. At the gateway classic this past weekend, with a division champion and fastest time of the match using a taurus PT-92
  14. I personally dislike small guns for carry, therefore I carry depending on my mood that morning, Kimber Custom Target, Glock 34, Sig P226, Taurus PT92, Springfield XDm 9mm. I will even occasionally break out the old Model 15 Smith. All of these are carried in OWB straight drop Kydex holsters with the exception of the smith which I have a galco speed master for. I carry at least one reload for each. When the weather gets to hot for concealment garments I resort to a Model 605 Taurus in a pocket holster though.
  15. I agree with Memphis Mechanic, required should be off the clock(except in the classifier) but give me a chance to do it on time in a stage and I will without any trouble. I have even done it with moonclip revolvers. The Cherokee Wheelgun Championship even had to written in standard course of fire. As far as stowing the partial I always put it in my Left front pants pocket since this pocket doesn't move like a vest pocket or have the small opening of a magpouch(pouches are for full mags only) Stow the mag com e up and grab fresh mag which is right above and behind this pocket
  16. Hey I resemble that remark. Wolverine work boots, Never had a traction issue and they are only 70 dollars at Academy Sports
  17. Are there any perspectiv dates for The Cup next year. Doing match planning, just wondering if anyone knew.
  18. i shot som UMC 125gr +p stuff last year that went 132pf or so. It was a sjhp bullet though, kinda tough to speedload
  19. I want to thank Sam and everyone else for putting this match on. As a long time IDPA shooter I was told about this match at the Tri-States Regional IDPA match and decided to finally join USPSA and shoot this match. So this was my first sanctinoed match for the sport. I will definitely be back next yeaar and bring as many of the locals revo guys as I can. Wayne Ritchie
  20. 21. What about lowering the ejection port. The G34 that I have been working on has ejection problems with THE Accesories mount I am using
  22. Duane, I had the full run of extract and eject malfs with the combo I was running. I was trying to get the reliability bugs out before i built an Open gun out of it, but I sold the G22 and bought another G34 to do it with
