as per current rules the hammer on your CZ must be fully down. the CZ pistols that I have handled will not engage the safety with the hammer fully down, they will at half cock though. The BD model CZ pistols lower the hammer to the half cock notch. This has been an ongoing deal within IDPA and hopefully will be dealt with by the TT. All the traditional DA guns that I have handled that have a separate decock and safety variants have this issue.

score another vote for the 460 smith, I have the standard 8 3/8 in gun and iron sight hits a 200 yds are easy with hornady ammo.

In the years I have been involved with IDPA, my experience has been one of the biggest things that weigh on the Match Directors(at least the ones I know) is how do they make fair it for their SO and Staff crew. I have seen many approaches to this from bringing in Master class shooters to run the SO's, to running a split SO day allowing only the CSO and SO to run the timer for there stage. I have volunteered to bring an out of town crew in to run the local SO's through at some troubled matches in my area. I have also shot matches that were run by an out of town crew as well. As far as the sour grapes aspect and not performing well at a match you are SOing, practice always helps. Take a moment for yourself when you're on deck clear your mind then shoot to the best of your ability. The SO advantage the great debate. I have shot and worked 8 National Championships and 1 World Championship(7 of these as a CSO) and I am always proud to see the number of SOs who get to take home a trophy, this is not because they had a benefit by shooting the day before the regular competitors, being called looser by the other SOs(I promise you this, we get called harder)or the occasional re-shoot for stage adjustment. It is because they are the most dedicated group of people that are more worried about the shooters they will see the next day than about how they themselves are going to perform. Just imagine how well these people could perform if they weren't working for the competitors sake, and for love of the sport.

Actually, if you do have a round come out when you rack the slide then you would need to pick up the dropped magazine, NOT the ejected live round, before firing your next shot. Otherwise you will have performed a speed-reload which is not IDPA-legal and would earn you a 3-second PE. --Lin Unfortunately regardless if you pick up the round or the empty magazine you have still done a speed load(not an approved IDPA reload) and will still receive a procedural per Robert Ray. corecting a speed load

+1 for the K frame, with the reduced PF it should be fine. Don't know that I would chamfer a recessed gun though. By the way good buy, from the pic the gun looks great

if you do reduce the engagement be sure to keep an eye on it since it will not take much wear to deactivate it at that point. A gunsmith for a high end 1911 company let his wear to much and was DQed from the nationals a few years back

under ammunition carrier notes pg 32 of current IDPA rulebook number 2 two full speedloaders/moonclips maybe worn directly in front of the holster and they must be positioned as close to the holster as possible. one additional may be worn behind the centerline on either the right or left side for a total of three speedloader/moonclips on the belt the rule addendum adds addition to rule page 39 number 2 the speedloaders in front of the holster must be within 1 inch of each other and the one nearest the holster must be within 1 inch of the holster the rule book and the addendum states speedloaders/moonclips, not carriers. I use a modified double stack north mountain and wear only it in front of the holster with a single on my left side

that model 19 would be perfect for SSR in IDPA until you can afford a moonclip gun.

I shot both sports this weekend IDPA is a little easier on the budget in the beginning, but can turn expensive if you try to shoot all divisions But with Production and Single Stack USPSA is not much more expensive, just a couple more mags and pouches added to your IDPA rig and away you go. Having shot IDPA for 10 years and dabbled in USPSA for most of that time I joined USPSA last year for a benefit revolver match and had a grand time and will continue my membership with both.

they still flop a little bit but it doesn't seem to affect accuracy any. The one on my 15 is so low that the hammer nose knocked a divot in it when we first put it on.

i can definitely second the weigand blade, I have one on 3 out of 5 of my smith revolvers, Mdl 15, 625, and 617 all with patridge front blades as well

I had an old model 15 converted to the standard pinned in smith sight setup at S&W while the trigger stud was being replaced. Just have them put a patridge blade in it, once you get it back do what you want with it.
