  1. I just started using a tanfo large frame gold team in 9mm a few months ago. I ordered a gold conversion kit from EAA in 9mm and put it on my lmited 40 lower. Using the new K-9 mags it runs flawless as others have posted. The longest I've been able to load to is 1.155 with montana gold 124 gn cmj bullets. Any longer than that with that particular bullet and it won't turn freely in the chamber with the barrel out of the gun using your fingers. It actually touches the rifling at about 1.160 on mine. I have been loading to major power factor using HS-6 and silouhette with no problems so far. I've shot maybe a thousand rounds at this oal with no failure to feeds.
  2. It seems strange to me too but if you look on his website he lists them as USPSA/IPSC Open division pads.
  3. I don't think the H-141O pad makes the mag longer than 141mm (hence the name). The main difference is how tight it fits. The old H-141 pad fits tight on the Tanfoglio branded mags, but its a tad loose on the new MecGar mags. However You get the same round count with the H-141's in my K9 mags that Henning is getting with the H-141O and the K9 mag. If there is any difference in length, I don't think its enough to get another round in the mag. The h-1410 pads absoluteley make the new k-9 mags longer than 141mm. They will not fit the gauge and are not for limited. I have both and I'm sure.
  4. The h-1410 pads will not fit the 140mm gauge. I think they are for open only. I know the old h-141 pads will work with the new k-9 mags in 9mm but I'm not sure about 40sw. I think they will work just fine.
  5. I really never shot it past 25 yards and the accuracy wasn't that amazing. It was about the same as my witness limited in 40 sw. Maybe basball size groups off hand at 25 yards. I never really sat down at a bench and shot it off a rest. I just used it for steel challenge and it seemed plenty accurate enough for that. Sorry I can't give exact numbers but I really don't know.
  6. I have one for the large frame on a match. It took extensive work to make it reliable. A friend of mine is a gunsmith and he reshaped the point of the firing pin. He also reshaped the hook on the extractor because it wouldn't reliably extract. I had to change the extractor spring and the recoil spring also. The mags are plastic and for some reason mine would not seat all the way into the gun. I had to remove material from the top of the mag and reshape the ejector which is on the mag. It was a lot of work. Haveing done all that though it now is one of the most reliable 22's I've owned. I use federal ammo, the stuff that has 550 rounds to a box, with great success. Also don't try to use any mainspring less than 16lbs.
  7. The bladetech dropped offset holsters are the way to go for uspsa limited. Henning has them in his shop too. http://henningshootsguns.com/shop/holsters.html
  8. hey this is Brian Mayne from the indiana state steel match. thought I would send you a message so you would know who I am.

  9. I'm on my third one! Do yourself a favor and take it back off and put some red locktite in there. I thought there was no way it could come out....wrong.
  10. I had the same issue every once in a while. I checked my feedlips and they had opened up a bit. If you are full length sizing your brass with a glock rx die or something similar you will need to adjust your feed lips to .395 or so. I adjusted mine and have not had one issue since. If you are using Cha Lees method you might have to adjust your feedlips even smaller. He is pushing his cases through the Lee U die, I am pushing mine through the regular Lee sizing die.
  11. The delta point sitting that low in the slide looks really nice. I bet that would be a really nice transition from irons to something like that. Can you tell me how much it was to get the slide milled like that? thanks
  12. Don't tell me that! I already cleaned it with that solution. It definetely took the build up out. I hope it doesn't cause any harm. I'm just gonna switch back to copper jacketed bullets, but I've still got like 2000 of these that I don't want to just throw away. I guess I'll use them for practice.
  13. They are Precision Bullets. I keep saying "moly" but I'm not sure if that's the same thing or not. Either way I think I'm just gonna switch back to copper jacketed.
  14. Thanks. I thought they were but I wasn't sure. I've been trying some of those precision moly bullets and I am having trouble getting the moly out. It built up in the chamber so bad the gun would chamber a round fully every now and then. They have two different methods of cleaning the moly out, one for stainless and one for steel.
  15. Are the barrels from the factory on an elite limited 40 caliber made from stainless? thanks
  16. I would get the 10mm from henning just in case you ever decide to reload in the future. With the 10mm mags you can load to a longer oal. I have not had any problems at all with hennings 140mm mags. I've put thousands of rounds through my limited 40 with hennings 10mm mags without a nose dive. I do use the lee u die to help the rounds stack better in the mag. I don't have any experience with the 40 sw 140mm mags so I really can't comment.
  17. Does anyone make an adapter that fits the rear super sight dovetail to mount and sts or doctor optic?
  18. I've got a couple of friends that would probably take that deal! I hate to think what that's gonna cost you in the long run.
  19. Thanks for all the input guys. I measured all my mag feed lips and several of them were over .400. I will adjust them and I'm sure it will take care of the problem. thanks again
  20. Thanks for the info I suspect your right. I'll have to do a search and find out what to set them at. I remember reading it on here more than once but I can't remember the measurement.
  21. I shot a steel challenge match today with my witness elite limited in 40 sw. I was using henning 10 mm mags that have been shaved to fit in the 140mm box. On one of the stages fired after hitting the stop plate my gun appeared to have the slide locked back like I had an empty magazine. After a closer look I had a live round actually stuck in the very top of the ejection port, facing forward like it just popped up out of the mag, with another live round below it ready to go into the chamber. So somehow I had some sort of double feed. I've never had this happen and it only did it once. I had to press the mag release and one live round fell to the ground after the mag dropped, and then rack the slide to release the other live round. I just wondered what would cause this and if anyone else has had this happen. I would guess maybe the feed lips on one of my mags is open to much but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated. thanks
  22. I've been using the 13lb main spring with the henning extra long firing pin with federal primers without a light strike in around 4-5 thousand rounds also. Don't have any experience with large pistol primers only small. I've used winchester and federal small pistol primers and the federal are easier to set off.
  23. If your mag bodies are 40sw you might want to think about getting some 10mm ones so you can load to a longer overall cartridge length, if you load your own, or if you are ever thinking about loading your own. As far as trigger pull I have done the same as others have posted here: polished internals to smooth out the trigger, trigger bar, trigger plunger, and the bottom of the firing pin stop where it touches the hammer. henning xl firing pin, and a 13lb main spring(this does away with your firing pin safety) I installed a henning flat trigger and although it's kind of expensive it really takes the slop out of the trigger on the match. (This part does take some time and effort to fit) Fiber optic front sight from henning is a good idea too. I use the henning 10.75lb spring in mine with really light steel loads and I think it works really well. After market grips are nice but you can reduce the size of the stock rubber grips with a dremmel and a sanding drum if you have smaller hands.
