Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I'm not sure if this is what is happening but it might be. I use henning's firing pins in all my tanfos and I had one that I dry fired to much with out using a snap cap. After dry firing it enough it made a groove in the firing pin where it passes through the breech face. The groove got bad enough that the firing pin would stick forward after firing. Pull your firing pin out and see if it is smooth where it passes through the slide into the breech or if it has worn a groove in it. Hope this helps.
  2. I'm currently using the safariland 014. I haven't had it that long so I hate to say it's the best. After I put the lock on I can still lift the gun quite a bit in the holster. It won't come out but I just don't think I should be able to lift it that high with the lock on. Other than that It seems to be well made. The lock on mine is really stiff and not as easy to use as the racemaster. I've used the racemaster aslo and had a few issues with it to. It's ok as long as you draw the gun straight up and out. If you have any sort of twisting motion when you draw it will not want to come out of the holster. Probably going to put my racemaster in the classifieds soon.
  3. I use red Loctite and I have also broken one by over tightening
  4. Henning, Your link for Henning Shop Worldwide Distributors doesn't work for me.
  5. I'm pretty sure you have the one for mags without the spacer. You need the one that says TS on the bottom of the follower.
  6. I've had several tanfoglio pistols and have "worn out" or broke the little detent on the safeties on several of them. I think it's one of the downfalls of the tanfo design. Henning mentioned he was coming out with his own safeties, I'll be inerested to see what he comes up with.
  7. I think the combination of short chamber along with to many ports in the barrel make 9major in the tanfo's a bad idea. I tried it and my barrel lugs and locking lugs in the slide are chewed up after less than 3000 rounds.
  8. Take your barrel out and drop one of your loaded rounds into the chamber and see if it will turn freely by hand or if it hits the lands. If it hits the lands you are loading to long. I don't think this is the problem though because I am using the new mec gar K40 mags with grams followers and henning base pads with a bullet oal of 1.135 with the same 180 grain bayou bullet with no problems. There is no need to load long with these new mags. That was only with the old henning competition mags that were 10mm. Clean your chamber really well. I had something similar happen to my limited when I was using precision bullets. I had a build up of moly in the chamber and it wouldn't let the gun go into battery.
  9. I have the same issue with a brand new limited. I think it's one of the major problems with the design. The cz tactical sports have a sear cage with a place for two springs that stick out the back to hold the sear cage tight in the frame. I am looking for a cure to this problem also, and wondered if Henning had any ideas. Maybe he could design an over sized sear cage that could be fit by hand? I'm not sure if there is room on the tanfoglio sear cage to make a recess for two springs like a tactical sports. A friend of mine had one and showed me but I didn't really get to look at it but once.
  10. I have two 170mm 9mm mags that I had made for the tanfoglio large frame. They both work flawlessly. One holds 30 and the other holds 29. It might hold 30 but it is really tight. The problem for me is the gun started to show a substantial amount of wear on the barrel and slide locking lugs after a very small amount of rounds. Maybe I should have had the barrel reamed to use longer OAL ammo but still, I don't recommend using 9mm to make major in the tanfoglio platform. If you check on the IPSC Global Village forum Eric Grauffel himself recommends not using the 9mm for major. To many poppel holes. Just trying to save someone the expense I went through to learn that lesson.
  11. I did the same thing with a canyon creek magwell. I had to fit the feedlips on each mag also. Had to take a little material off the top to get them to seat all the way in the gun. A friend of mine polished and reprofiled the extractor and after that no problems.
  12. Thanks for the info. I will email shooterready.biz and see if they can find me one.
  13. Stick to 38 super in the tanfos for open. I tried 9mm "major" it didn't work out so well. To many popple holes for 9 major. It took to much powder and really started to wear the lugs on the slide and barrel after only a few thousand rounds.
  14. I want an IFG limited custom in 40 so I called Wholesale hunter to ask if I could order one. I gave the lady on the phone the sku number straight from IFG's websight. She said "We don't even show that number sir". Kind of smart ass like, and then she said we don't special order items. Nice. Anyway, I emailed IFG direct to see if I could order one. I sure can for over 1400 dollars. What a joke. If I want one from IFG I have to pay full retail. Why does everyone act like they are doing you a favor by selling you something, or ordering something for you, instead of just doing there job. I don't get it. I shouldn't have to buy a gun in a different caliber and buy a different barrel to make it work. Anyway sorry for the complaints I'm just frustrated.
  15. That is very interesting to know. There are a lot of 10mm out there right now and not a lot of 40's. Did you actually call them and verify this? Thanks
