Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I have an older SVI Limited pistol. I am thinking about having it refinished and I am curious what the process would be and what the best types of finishes are.
  2. Yes, I have mag holders and belt, but will need a pistol and holster.
  3. My 14 year old son wants to get started in pistol shooting competitions. I am looking for recommendations in getting him started. I am thinking about getting the Canik TP9SFX for him to start with in production. I am looking for input on other options as well as other gear he would need.
  4. Hey, when I first started USPSA I was using a .40 Hi-power in Limited 10.
  5. I am not a new member, but have been absent for a while, my last post was in 2009. I was too busy with work and 3 young kids to do any shooting. The last few years I have been into M1 Garands and M1 Carbines, and have shot a few CMP matches. I am glad to be back on this forum, and still see a lot of familiar names. I am looking forward to getting back into USPSA with my middle son who is now 13. Wow, it looks like a lot has changed, what with Carry Optics and PCC. I will have to find out what these are all about.

    Bad names for kids

When I was in High School I worked in a Grocery store with a guy who must have been in his seventies, working as a bag boy for extra income. His name was Richard Weed, and he did go by Dick. His name tag was amusing to say the least.
  7. I am on Playstation 3, screen name TY50485. It took forever and I could not find a screen name it would accept, so I used my USPSA number. Jason
  8. Is there any info on this match online? I will be heading to South Florida for Thanksgiving. It would be cool to get a match in while I am there Is there a link to the Registration Form anywhere?
  9. New parts on the way, along with a small parts kit.
  10. I have already removed the platform since my last post. Unfornately, I do not have a spare parts kit. It seems it may be a good idea to get one.
  11. My 650 just broke the plastic Ring Indexer when a shell stuck on the shellplate at the Ejector wire, a pioece of it fell out of the bottom of the machine. The GA State match is Saturday and I need to load some ammo. Anyone else experienced this piece breaking? How is it to replace it. I have not taken anything apart yet.
  12. Hey thats good. My 2.5 year old daughter is named Molly.
  13. This weekend I went to chrono some rounds for a new load using Montana Gold Bullets. There was no shade on the range and I was worried about incorrect readings, especially with the bright bullets. I had read were people set one of the white canopies over the chrono with good results. I did not have a canopy and it was a public range. I had a great idea. I work in a General Contractors office and happened to have a set of plans with me about 32 inches by 42 inches. These were on plain white copy type paper not actual blueprints. I attached one side of the drawing to the bottom of the frame the sky screens sit own and wrapped it over the screens and attached it to the bottom on the other side. I attached it with pasters so it was easily removed. The paper was thin enough to not actually block all the light, about the same as one of those canopies. The paper was about the thickness of standard copier paper. It seems to have worked great and was easy to set up and tear off. I had readings for every shot I fired, after I remembered to push the GO button. What do you think? Any reason this would effect the chrono in a negative way?? You could probably find similar paper at any number of stores and it is very cheap. Jason
  14. In a previous topic TheOther Erik had mentioned blacking out the Montana Gold Bullet with a marker when chrono'ing so it would be 'seen' easier by the chrono. I tried this this weekend and had higher readings for rounds that were blacked out then regular ones. Which way is the most accurate and how will this effect the chrono stage at a match? I doubt you would be allowed to color your bullets at a match before they were chronoed. Any Ideas?? P.S.- I was using a Pact Mk IV from BE.
  15. Steve, Just sent paypal for the book. Can't wait to get it. Jason
