  1. Thank you for the quick reply. I have passed the info on to her and hopefully will be able to find more.

    X-5 Mags

A friend of mine has an X-5 in 9mm and is looking for mags. Unfortunately the only place that she can find any charges around $100 per mag. Is there anyplace online that sells them cheaper than that? Any help would be wonderful. Thanks in advance.
  3. I have a Ghost holster for Glocks. They say that it is only for small framed Glock pistols (9mm .40 and .357 sig) but on a whim I put my model 21 in it and it worked. I haven't used it for competition because it is my second backup for limited 10. Just my .02
  4. I give major props to Blake. He handled being eliminated like a true champion. Sorry to see Kelly the giant killer to go. He was one of my favorite players. Next week looks like it will be a good one. My money is on J.J. to win still.
  5. I am currently using a Glock 35, that is also my limited gun, set up with Dawson f/o front and fully adjustable targer rear, competition mag release and mag well (will be getting a Dawson Ice mag well soon) and running Dawson extended base pads for the mags. I can also use my Glock 22 (back up limited gun, same set up but with out a mag well at the moment) or my Glock 21 which is pretty much stock. It is good to have choices.
  6. What I have been told by certified (or is it certifiable) Glock people is that Glock Recommends that you replace the recoil spring around every 5000 rounds, unless you are shooting a .40/.357, in which the say every 3000 rounds. I have put well over 10,000 rounds through both my 9 and .40 and they are still on the original springs. I carry a couple of spares in my range bag just in case I start to have problems but like most of the people here my Glocks do not seem to have a problem with the "old" springs.
  7. I know an easy way to find it. It is Murphy's law of missing articles. A missing article will be found as soon as you go out and spend money to replace it, esp if you cannot return the replacement item.
  8. I am currently running a Moss 930. I have shot both and prefer the Moss to the Rem. The sights are a subjective thing. Go with what you are comfortable with. Recoil with the 930 is alot less than the pumps that I have shot. About the same as the 1100/11-87's that I have shot. As for price I have a couple of friends that say that if they didn't already have a Benelli and were just starting they would go with the Moss. It is easy to operate, will handle most any ammo, and the price it right for what you want to do with it. Hope this helps. Rick
  9. I have shot it and I think that it is a good thing. The rough textured grip is good. Once you grap ahold of it, it is 'stuck' in your hand. combat tupperware
  10. I saw this one yesterday on an H3 Hummer. LUVRH3 Love our H3
  11. I currently use just plain old Wrangler cargo pants/shorts. The belt loops are big enough to use my CR Speed belt and the cargp pockets have a smaller pocket in the top seam that holds my Barney mag. And the price is around $20 per pair of pants.
  12. This is an idea that has been floating around my head for a few months. I have an idea on how it could be run and even do online "Major Matches", even if for nothing more than bragging rights. You could have ways to customize your rig for the class you are shooting in (ie production, limited, open). Have classifiers so that you could build classifications or when you sign in to the online game it accesses your IPSC/USPSA classification via your membership number. Anyone else think it is a good idea? Or if you have any questions feel free to ask them. Thanks
  13. For you Bob Munden nay sayers, here is the dope straight from his website. Bob holds 18 unbroken World Records in Fast Draw competition that he set with a real, un-gimmicked, stock-weight, Colt .45 single-action revolver. Though the World Fast Draw Association erased the records more than once when they changed regulations or timing equipment, Bob set them again, always using a real gun and a real holster, no light-weight funny guns or gimmicks. In competition with blanks, some of his records are: Walk and Draw Level Event: Fastest Time Ever Recorded: .15 hundredths of one second - Arcadia, CA 06/04/1972. Standing Reaction Balloon Event: Fastest Time Ever Recorded: .16 hundredths of one second - Norwalk, CA 01/21/1973. Total of Five Separate Shots, Standing Reaction Balloons: 1 and .06 hundredths of one second - Arizona State Championships, 1966. Self-Start: Fastest Time: .0175 hundredths of one second - Guinness Book of World Records Museum, New York, 1976. This time is less than one half, of one half, of one tenth, of one second. Bob has been recognized by the Guinness Book as: "Fastest Gun" "Quickest Draw" and "The Fastest Man With A Gun Ever Alive." Using live ammunition, Bob holds the record for hitting a 2' x 4' steel, rectangle target 21' away in .21 hundredths of one second. The address for the site is: www.bob-munden.com if you would like to see for yourself.
  14. If you are interested in what the 4th gen Glocks are supposed to look like you can check the Glock forum on ar15.com. They have a big picture of what they are supposed to look like. They have changed the checkering on the grip and the serations on the slide are now cresant shaped. No idea if they will have ambi mag releases or not. Other than that they seem the same as the 3rd gen Glocks.
  15. I currently use a Mossberg model 930. Brand new semi-auto for around $500 depending on version. It currently had a 8 round tube so it is 8+1. Works well for me. They have a "tactical" version called the SPX which is 6+1, 18.5" bbl, ghost ring rear sight and f/o AR style front. If you get a standard selfdefense model it is 4+1, 18.5" bbl and bead front sight. Choate is the maker of the extension for the SPX and what I have on mine. Hope this helps.
  16. Congrats on making it to twenty. Thank you for the service you are doing for this country. Rick 1C671
  17. CED Electronics has the holster listed for $100-110 (depending on the model of the gun you use) + shipping. They list it as Hoppner & Schumann Speedsec 5CW Holster. Here's the link Hoppner & Schumann Speedsec 5CW Holster Hope this helps.
  18. Welcome to the forum. As far as shooting against like equipment/guns go, if you shoot production(USPSA)/SSP(IDPA) you will be. If you do decide to go the Glock route there are many people both here and other forums that can help you with getting started. As you stated that you are starting with a $2000 limit, you can get everything you need to "compete" for 2 Glocks and still have money left over for ammo. My recommendation is to find someone who shots production/ssp and talk with them. Find out what works best for you and then go out and have some safe fun. On the defense side, 9mm will stop an intruder. So will a .22. It is all about shot placement and good ammo. But that's just my .02. Welcome to the sport. Be safe and have fun.
  19. I am currently using a Serpa LV II holster for my Glock 22. I have had no problems with it at all. The only thing that is different is that because it is my limited blaster and I had different sights put on it I am using one for a model 21 instead of for a 17/22. This gives the front sight enough room to clear the holster without scraping along the sight channel. It is still secure enough that I can run with the pistol in the holster and not worry about it falling out and I still have pretty good draw times too. Hope this helps.
  20. I found that cat's cousin. lol
  21. Haven't seen these but they popped into my mind while reading this thread. How about... SHTR RDY and the one I want to get CMBT TPRWARE
  22. Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: The deadliest weapon in the world is a marine and his rifle. It is your killer instinct which must be harnessed if you expect to survive in combat. Your rifle is only a tool. It is a hard heart that kills. If your killer instincts are not clean and strong you will hesitate at the moment of truth. You will not kill. You will become dead marines and then you will be in a world of shit because marines are not allowed to die without permission. Do you maggots understand? Full Metal Jacket
  23. When I first started shooting USPSA I was a bit warry of trying it. I had heard that it was all about who could afford the 'best' gun and not necessarily about skill of the shooter or that the people were not into helping new/rookie shooters. The 'mentor' who got me started told me to bring my 9mm and my .45 ACP Glocks and shoot both production and limited 10 that day. There were a couple people that I knew there and they and everyone there was helpful in making sure that I knew what I was doing safely and that I had fun while I was there. Since then I have started shooting limited and I still shoot a Glock. This time my .40 S&W with a few mods that I have made to it. I still don't have a race holster but it is on my list of 'upgrades'. My goal now is to 'beat' my 'mentor' in a match someday soon. Wish me luck.
  24. [note: mergerd treads] Has anyone used one of these. I am curious as to you opinion. I found it on the CED website and for $99 was wondering if it was a good 'race holster'. Thanks, combat tupperware
  25. The new frames are being called "replacement". The are (and I believe I am remembering this correctly) easier to set up for a "race gun" type pistol. I also never said that they would be production legal. That being said I don't think that most people would use these for production due to cost. A brand new glock would be cheaper than building one from all lone wolf parts. Thanks combat tupperware
