Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I have read several posts about using the G19 9mm barrel in a Glock 23 but can the reverse be done. Using a G23 .40 S&W barrel in a G19?????
  2. I had several issues over the years with the "Old" style breaking when dropped or knocked off the reloading table. I just gave up and started using MTM boxes, No breakage with them. I might have to try the "new" Dillon boxes out to test durabilty.
  3. WOW I am glad you were not shooting .356 sized bullets
  4. Reloads??? It must have been a one hell of a reload as .45 ACP rds are low presure rounds. I beleive that the shooter was also glad it was in a Glock and not another brand of handgun.
  5. I drop all my cast bullets (using wheel weights) out of the mold into a pail of water. They then are sized and lubed. Roster Is a hard lube and may not give you the results you are looking for. I use the harder lube in my cast bullets that I use for rifles as the velocity is higher and more heat is generated. I have shot cast pistol bullets with Red Rooster lube and upon examining the spent bullet found all of the lube was still in the lube groves.

    Glock 21

My hands are very wide but with medium length fingers. The regular G21 is just too large. I can shoot it but it isn't comfortable. However i just purchsed a G21 SF and I like it very much and it fits my hands. AS for bullet shapes I am shooting 200 Grain Round nose flat point bullets without any problems
  7. Thanks for the suggestion and the information on the striker. I may hold off on the striker. I have free access to enough once fired brass, I cast my own lead bullets and reload. A box of 50 rds costs me less then $4.00 to reload. I am retired so my time don't count. It either cast bullets, reload, shoot, repeat or sit in front of the idiot box.
  8. I have upgraded my G35 to include the Ghost rocket trigger assembly, Storm lake barrel, Prezine mag well, Henie rear/Warren Tactical Fiber Optic Front Sight. I am now wondering if changing out my stock striker for a Titanium Striker is a worth while upgrade for IDPA???
  9. For a while I was running all my brass for the .40 S&W throught a U die before loading them on my 650 using Dillon dies. I tried just reloading a few just on the 650/dillon dies and found out in my case that I didn't need to take the extra step with the U die. I am running s G35 with a Storm lake barrel and I am using range pick up brass. From the range into the tumbler, into the casefeeder, into loaded rounds.
  10. It woud nice to have the mags if you had one of these The Olympic Arms K40-GL The 40 S&W Caliber AR-15 that Takes your Glock Pistols Mag Just a Neat Idea for Glock Fans http://standbyliberty.org/2009/10/20/the-olympic-arms-k40-gl-the-40-sw-caliber-ar-15-that-takes-your-glock-pistols-mag-just-a-neat-idea-for-glock-fans/ http://www.olyarms.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=60&category_id=24&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=37
  11. What recoil spring? 2.8gr barely even moved the slide on my gun. It is stock recoil G35 Recoil spring.
  12. Pistol G35 Barrel Storm Lake Powder 2.9 Gr Clays Primers WSP Bullet 180 Gr Cast from WW PACT Chrony 10 ft from barrel I am getting a PF of 134-136 This load in this gun is giving me an average of 745 FPS I have checked this load on a couple of other Chronys and they are the same.
  13. The two things that i have found causing me chambering problems is: #1 The round is not crimped enough #2 OAL is too long I have also found that when the seating and crimping dies in my 550b are set up for my Glock 35 with a Storm lake barrel the rounds won't work in my Kahr CW40. the rounds will work in my G23 with a stock barrel. Also strange enought there is a difference in the die settings between using lead TC bullets and lead Round Nose bullets. Both bullets are the same weight/diameter -- 180 Gr/.401. In my guns the TC bullets require a shorter OAL length and a tighter crimp. When everything is correct to work in the CW40 it will also work in my G35 but not the other way around.
  14. I am using 2.9 Grs of Clays with a 180 Lead bullet cast from a magna mold. Power factor is 735PFS X 180 Grs = 132 PF This is out of G35.
  15. I had several (over 10 1st gen mags, U shaped in the rear instead of square) for my G19. They started splitting on the backside from the U down. I called Smyra and was told there is no warranty on those mags :-(
