  1. No....the Winlites are not the same. I found a guy that deals in LE ammo to get me my Ranger slugs by the case. I used to get them from Ammunition To Go til I found him. Thanks OO.
  2. Where can I buy them? Are the Winlight low recoil slugs the same?
  3. Sorry, meant to say that the Weaver at 3 power, because it is very clear, looks better than most low cost scopes that have 4 power.
  4. OO, Would you mind giving me the address to check out the Ranger slugs? Thanks
  5. Of course we'll all do whatever we want, I'm just pointing out that the thing that you, and others, say cleaning guns will sovle doesn't really work out that way. Based off your comments it certainly hasn't worked that way for you. I'd also submit that someone claiming to have avoided all manner or problems by identification during cleaning might consider buying better guns or better parts. Looking at a part and thinking it's "going to break" is silly. Except in extreme cases, where it's already started failing, this simply isn't an accurate indication of impending failure. Worn, seriously worn, parts can continue to work for tens of thousands of rounds, but that brand new part you replace it with can break immediately. I've been shooting guns since just a little bit shorter than I could walk and I haven't had that many parts break, and the vast majority didn't stop the gun, or were visible without needing to clean the gun or disassemble it. Not real hard to spot a cracked safety or cracked slide. I clean my guns when they need it and I maintain them as needed. I also normally have the most reliable guns at any match or club...without question. Ask the people who shoot with me when I've had guns malfunction. Last time I asked that question to a large group, someone said "a year ago you had that magazine problem at a match"....yep, and it wasn't a gun problem, and they had to go back a year to remember a problem! Guns simply don't "need" to be cleaned as often as people think they do. Proof is your statements above. I don't clean my guns all the time and have never had the problems you've had when cleaning yours more frequently. That's sort of interesting all by itself. Now, some could say all that cleaning could have led to more failures with yours, but I won't go that far. I have one pistol I've been shooting since 1983 and was one of the first guns I shot in USPSA....hard to imagine this problem wouldn't have cropped up on me with that gun in the last 27 years if I was totally off base. G-Man, Chill out! I have my opinion, you have yours. Nuff said,
  6. G-Man, Sorry, I should have reviewed my response to you. I would change it to say, I have avoided most of the potential problems. You do whatever you want. I will continue to clean and maintain my guns. It has worked for me for the last 15 years. Take care.
  7. Because I clean my gun's often,I have avoided future problems by seeing worn or about to break parts. I have also after shooting a match, taken the gun apart to find out that a part had in fact, broken. Bummer way to start the first stage at the next match!
  8. Most of the people responding are more than likely using jacked or at least a plated type bullet. Put lead bullets down the barrel like I do and trust me, you will be cleaning the gun and barrel! I have tried all the known good barrels. Using all the known good lead bullets, they ALL leave lead in the barrel that does not come out unless you brush the hell out of them! Tried the put some jacked bullets down the bore after shooting lead. looked good! Checked it with my friend's $900 dollar borescope. Lead was still in the barrel! I will admit that the accuracy is still good with lead left in the barrel, but I worry about pressure build up. That's my story and I'am sticking to it!
  9. Listen to the man! He speaks with a straight tongue!!!
  10. I have two Weaver 1x3's. They both check out okay. I had that problem with a Burris XTR.They fixed it, no problem. I guess you can have a problem with any brand of scope. As you have done, it pays to check them out.
  11. Just get the Weaver! At 3 power it is so much clearer than most low priced scopes, it actually looks better than they do at 4 power! It is also very close to a true 1 power. Very important for fast shooting at close targets with a crosshair reticle! Take care
  12. OH my GOD! A Benelli malfunction caught on tape! All gun's seem to do it when you least expect it, don't they. Great tape! Best I have seen on how to load from your belt! Take care
  13. Some trainers and matches have banned their use because when you push the button to release the gun, it is possible for a tensed finger to slip into the trigger guard, hard enough to activate the trigger, and BOOM before clearing the holster. Lee Those same "trainers" are suggesting that people not flick their safety off until the gun is in front of them. Who on this forum does this? I know I don't. My safety is off before I even clear Kydex. The same goes for my Ghost holster in limited...safety is off before the gun even moves upwards. I do agree the that the Serpa holster is unsafe for this reason, but for them to blame the shooter for flicking the safety off on a 1911 too early, I wonder what they're even teaching at that school. Back on topic, I'm a big fan of multi-gun but until the rules become more standard, people will rebel and run their own matches. I DON'T WANT TO EVER RO YOU OR EVEN BE IN YOUR SQUAD!!!!!
  14. Dean, Are the Zombie targets like the ones we shot at the DPMS match two years ago?
  15. Yep, thats whats trying to be figured out?? I know in my RO class the point was made very clearly that the RO gives only the range commands. PERIOD!!!!!!!!! Flyin
  16. A 69, 75, and 77 grn. will not have more energy than a 55 grn. going 3100 or faster at long range. Unless the heaver bullets have the proper velocity! At least that is what the ballistic charts tell me.
  17. Thanks Dean, I should have known you would have it figured it out. Can't wait!
  18. Could you please reconsider letting box fed shotguns compete against single round loaded guns. If you figure at least two reloads in a stage, box fed in two seconds or less. verses a GOOD one round at a time guy taking at least 8 to 10 seconds per reload! That's a advantage of about 14 seconds!! Does not seem fair to me. Just saying!
  19. Tim, Could not have described it any better!!! GREAT POST!
  20. I wish I would have known this. I just sold all of my Wilson 47D's to a very lucky guy and now I'm in need of getting some 10mm magazines for my new Fusion 40 cal 1911, so I did search here and what do ya know there is plenty of info to look at. Looks like Tripp will be getting my business. How are you using a 45 rd. mag to shoot 40 cal. bullets from? Please explain why the 40's will not fall out of the wider 45 cal. feed lips? What am I missing? It seems that if the .45 feed lips are correct distance apart that its close but the .40 rounds won't fall out. Now if the feed lips spread all bets are off. Thank you for the quick reply. Tried it. I'll be darned, it worked! Learned something today. Thanks!
