  1. Does anyone have a good picture of a light setup for a 550 to look into the case to check powder drops?
  2. How many are you getting with the dawson follower combo
  3. Has anyone tried the Dawson std(non SNL) base pad on the rescomp mag with bolen guts? Will it go 22 rounds with that combo or are the bolen base pads needed
  4. A 1911 is one of those guns were you need some pretravel
  5. Correct it may be staged as addressed in stage description ie all mags must come from barrels, barrels etc. What he did was not allowed. If he would have waited till the buzzer to grab that mag and drop it he would have been good to go
  6. Even better than on a long stage would be a nice 22 round stage where if the shooter is going to bring out their special mag, its going to be there.
  7. FWIW coming from a shotgun sports background, USPSA hasn't even got a foot in the door with respect to elitism. Agree 100percent. Came from a skeet background here What a good open gun runs, that about entry level for skeet equipment new. Drop 10-12k or a Krieghoff that will sure turn some heads right? Nope thats their standard model with basic wood. The head turners start at about 20k and go up from there. That is elitism right there
  8. It totally depends on the stage. Usually the closer to the mag capacity of the stages, the more valuable that round is. For the STI shooters, the 22/23 round stages are usually where the "Special mag" comes out. It can be an advantage especially if the shooter is good enough to take advantage of it ie no misses since there were no planned reloads
  9. 20+1 in a glock is not that difficult and puts you right where most 2011 guys are shooting. For most of the stages out there you are fine with 20+1. The only time those "buy an advantage mags" come into play is if there is like a 22 round stage. Throw some steel in there or a star and most are gonna reload anyway.
  10. I doubt the mag race in limited is driving shooters away. If you have a 20+1 round gun or even a 21+1 gun you can be competative. The only real benefit to having the 22 round mag is on those occasional stages where it saves a relaod and there really isnt a good place to do on without costing you time. Most of the people that I know who have the 22 round mag do not use it in their mag rotation. It is saved for those occasional stages where it is needed. Its the same for the extended AR mags in a rifle. I have a 45 rounder but it is only used if it saves a reload. If its a 20 round COF, I just use a regular mag.
  11. I think ill stick with my regular exteneded mag. I have a beta also but its a rare use. The only time I like it is if its a situation where the extended mag is too long to be used and I need the extra rounds. The beta also shines on table starts where the rifle has to be picked up off the table. The gun isnt extactly flat with the beta its either like an extreme kick stand on an open gun ot pretty much verticle
  12. Problem with doing that for SS and production would be location of safe areas. The mag gauge, grab a mag slide it in and your good to go. With production/ss and weighing and the box, you going to go to a safe area to do it. If you want a good random gauge of the mags, pick the 22/23 round stage out for the mag checks. If someone is going to be using a mag that really really pushes the envelope that is the stage its gonna happen at. Checking at chrono would be possible and not take too much time you you basically had 2 "stations". While the shooter is on deck for the chrono, the mags could be gauged.
  13. When using a lee single stage for resizing, with screws work to hold the loader down in the front 2 holes or are 4 bolts needed
  14. seen plenty shot in the white, just keep it whiped down with oil when not used

    light strikes

I also feel the trigger just feels crisper with the jager striker than it does with the stock
  16. I would go with a longer stock as they can be had quite cheap. 12 inchs really is way to short for a shotgun stock for a normal sized adult unless your wearing heavy body armor. Even then 12 inch could be a little short
  17. are they the new ones where the floor plate hooks to the bottom or the old ones

Shot a Jager striker with the extended tip in both the 34 and 24 and have never had a problem. FP spring is replaced probibally every 3k as just cheap insurance(never had a problem with it though). I do not reload for these guns and they have had a steady diet of champion, blazer and even some of the tula junk and have never had one fail to go off
  19. Currently I don't as I am waiting for the 2011 to get back from getting the slide lightened. When that comes back, the 24 is going to be the backup. I do usually take the 34 also so I guess that could get me by now if it needed to.
  20. All change would do is cause problems and complaining from alot of people. Make limited 20 rounds, watch how many complain after having dropped big bucks on the 22 round, 21 round reloadables. Go the other way and make it a free for all and watch people complain that the expensive mags they own are now obsolete
  21. tried the tula and it dosent feed near as well as the brass or aluminum stuff. I have had the 40sw hang up in mags turning it into a salt shaker
  22. The only problem with handing over a mag is the same as handing over ammo at the chrono. Your going to get a much more accutate reading pulling a mag off a belt during a stage, same as with ammo. How many people have a bag of chrono loads that they know without a doubt will make PF.
  23. Have both the JP and jard and the JP is heavier and just dosent feel as crisp
