  1. I couldn't have thought of a more accurate way to describe them. Great post jaredr.
  2. That's probably either rust, a coating on the steel, or some kind of remnants from your bullets. Copper is way to soft to be used for a part that takes that much abuse. I wouldn't worry about it.
  3. I have no experience turning barrels that sized and threaded on the ID already but it sounds like it would be easy to open up a can of worms you don't want to. Heat, tool pressure, and setup issues will make turning the OD difficult to do without altering the straightness and concentricity the barrel. Just some stuff to watch out for... Good luck.
  4. I use tap magic for mainly everything cutting related. Make sure all of the flutes on the reamer are oiled up. Don't reverse the reamer when you are retracting it or chips will get caught up under the cutting edge and will cause a bad finish. You could just use a small Crescent wrench for the handle. If you can get access to a drill press or mill your setup can be much more accurate and controlled. With that said, if the reamer is only going to be taking one or two thousandths off you probably won't have any trouble starting the reamer straight by hand. Take care not to wobble the reamer if you are turning it by hand or it will ream oversize. Good luck!
  5. I believe setup will start at 8:30 and shooting will start as soon as the stages are setup.
  6. The match will be held at the Ankeny Ikes range. (Just north of Des Moines)
  7. Did someone pick up my Great Plains Sectional plaque on Thursday or Friday morning? It wasnt on the table with the rest when I looked. Thanks

  9. DS-10 speed loaders. Maybe a cylinder reaming if yours are tight.
  10. Underoath and Linkin Park make up the majority of my pre-match music.
  11. Alright, I've used both the C&S firing pin and the Apex and can get a lighter pull with the C&S, so I use them. The C&S firing pins have a more blunt tip compared to the Apex with the wedge shaped tip, that probably has something to do with how much main spring tension needs to be applied to maintain reliability, but I haven't looked into that much... I have had one C&S break but that was before they started to step up the quality of their manufacturing process. There new pins seem to be just as durable as the Apex. Also I dry fire my revos without snap caps with the C&S firing pins and never have had any problems. Maybe because I trim down the firing pin spring a little bit?...
  12. Good luck Cliff. That video just broke the 5000 view mark...
  13. Yep, and don't forget the most important meal of the day... post work out.
  14. Open gun? How's that load with N320 work the comp for you? Doesn't work it at all. Its a very light load so you can't notice any muzzle filp. I used to use the slower burning powders like 4756 and VV N105 but I really think a faster burning powder is the way to go for steel.
  15. Try 4.2ish grians of N320 or tite group with a 115 grain bullet at around 1.170 OAL. My load: 5" gun with lightend slide. 4.2gr VV N320 115gr MG JHP 1.173 OAL
  16. A total gym is not going to help with the muscle definition near as much as cardio and healthy eating will.
