  1. May have lost track of my Blade-Tech holster for 6" STI, with ELS fork. Last used at 10:30 Saturday on Stage 2.
  2. Tom, Those will show no movement at distance, unless people used varmint type bullets. Even Sierra Match Kings probably won't expand enough to make them move. I was thinking as a stationary backer, 1-2 yds behind the target so weight does not affect target indicating movement.
  3. I wonder if the material used in these targets, in a 24" or 30" square mounted on target sticks would do the job as a target backer? http://www.hornady.com/store/Hornady-Self-Healing-Target/
  4. 3-Gun at Zia Sunday 8/9, next RGPSC is 9/5. I'll be at both.
  5. Don't know if it's Black Ice, but for 3-Gun I run a Blade-Tech with my STI 6". I'll bring it along tp RGPSC this Saturday.
  6. Nook needs to be on wifi with internet access and it will reset clock automagically. I put the club Nooks on my home wifi while charging the day before the match. Unlikely clock would drift 10 + minutes in 24 hours. It's an Android function, has nothing do do with Practiscore, other than PS detects and notifies when clocks on syncing devices are too far apart.
  7. Don't get distracted at preload. Happened to me in 2010 at Ft. Benning. Stage with mixed birdshot and slugs. Distracted, lost count and forgot to put birdshot on top for three close poppers. Being the first shooter on the squad with freshly painted steel, slug hits on close poppers were REAL obvious. Procedurals plus $50/hit x 3.

    iOS 8.4?

Invitation to download/update showed up when I booted the iPad today. Go? Wait? Avoid?
  9. We have a sign-in/waiver sheet at the match site for all participants, payment is marked there. Alongside is a self-squadding sheet. Anyone who didn't self-squad will be assigned as needed to balance squads. Same on-site procedure we used before pre-registration was an option.
  10. Match is defined on a master (Nook or iPad) with stages and registration. I also do squadding there. Then I sync stage Nooks, pulling from master, now they're ready to go to the stages for score entry - I'll usually select the stage and first squad so it's ready to go - squad can determine shooting order. Nook stays on stage, squad self-ROs for Level I.
  11. If you have a ready supply of reliable labor, otherwise it's another task for an already busy MD.
  12. Scores/results and activity/classifier report are two distinct things. Only the activity/classifier report has to go to USPSA. As a designated uploader I do that when i get home from the match (90 minute drive, normally last to leave the range) and have my laptop with internet access (not available at the range). Was uploading to Practiscore from my Android phone before leaving the range, but now using an iPad that is WiFi only, that is the first thing uploaded and activity report generated. We do have a WiFi printer on the non-internet scoring network at the range, so printed scores are posted from the iPad as soon as teardown is complete.
  13. Tthat is the USPSA classification for membership expired more than 60 days.
  14. I have the 3.5 moa dot, so it's the size of a 9mm hole at 10y, and that's where the hole appears when I fire a shot, +/- a bullet diameter. Chamber laser for rifle/shotgun due to muzzle devices.
  15. Invest in a laser bore sighter, such as http://sitelite-lasers.com/index.htmland adjust the dot to the laser projected at your c hosen zero distance. I use 10y for pistol, that i can do in my house or hotel room.
  16. Docter, Burris Fastfire, C-more and Deltapoint move dot to POI. Not familiar with Eotech. Usually do my adjustments with a muzzle/chamber laser at desired near zero range. Shotgun slug @ 50y, rifle secondary @ 25y, and pistol @ 10y.
  17. Cost me 30 shotgun slugs one day before I learned you move the dot from the aiming point to the point of impact.
  18. We host two matches a month, 1st and 3rd Saturday I don't overlap registration, mainly to avoid confusion. Opens Sunday after previous match, closes Friday evening before the match because I have a 90 minute drive to the range. It hasn't really caught on yet, but we do put a link on our Facebook page. Match fees are collected at the range.
  19. I've always gotten back unused ammo at Rio Salado's Area 2 match. Not aware of any rule one way or the other.
  20. I've used the .30/.308 BoreSnake version on mine, with a first pass with a .223 chamber brush/mop on a rod.
  21. Maybe Pat Miles will chime in. He built a lot of the walls/bases used at the High Desert Classic and local RGPSC matches.
  22. Remote camera? Is there an economic alternative to http://bullseyecamera.com/ ?
  23. I like the way you think!
