  2. What is up with people who don't feel the need to clean the snow off their car windows. My favorite are the ones who clean a small spot right behind their heads but not the whole rear window...wtf???
  3. I'm thinking about picking up a sweet P7M8 from a friend and then use it for prodution...thoughts? Experiences? TIA

    Buying Cars

HEY!! I can't select them all!! I just bought a "new" car and it was everything it could be...and shouldn't be. When I aksed if they had "life ins" on the loan they actually said they didn't offer that as they didn't want a bunch of little widows coming in crying about paying off the loan...guess what...I'm a 40 YO widower. That almost lost the deal and would if my trade in would have gotten me back home...grin, bear it and drive away fast. Must include "All the above"!

    Patton Museum

Visit the museum in April or October and visit the Knob Creek Gun range Machine Gun Shoot www.machinegunshoot.com I'm not affiliated but just a long time visitor, camper and competitor...subgun, practical pistol and rifle...there is shotgun too but I haven't done that one yet. It is really something to see. Great place to shop for those odds and ends for your Class III toys too. If you go, stop by our camp and share some brew...camp catfish...fyi
  6. I had a buddy offer to cover costs and ammo but I needed to go Christmas shopping afterward so I didn't hang around. Also I ALMOST ran out of gas on the way home due to no $$. Some days are better than others. I think I'll go back tonight and just shoot. I need to break in the new X5 anyway.
  7. Went to steel shoot last night...no wallet, cash, cc, ammo. Had my pistol but no cash for ammo...I knew I needed ammo.
  8. thanks guys. I didn't want to show up half loaded for no reason...
  9. I understand that lim10 is 10 rounds in mag. But does this mean the mag capacity has to be 10 or just the number of rounds loaded? My take is, I can use hi-cap mags with only 10 in mag. Still trying to get my head around this practical shooting thing...
  10. HK all the way. True not as many accessories at gun shows... but it is a great platform. Yes your host would need a FA bolt carrier which is no big deal. Vector clones come with FA carriers. Keep in maind though a clone is NOT an HK. I have one (Vector V51) and many others have good clones but when shooting with others who are shooting "HK" the ones that tend to malfunction are typically clones of some ilk...and there are some BAD clones. I don't find the controls to be horrible though the SEF lowers are tougher than the 4 position ones to manipulate. Although I can't use the 4 pos ones too well as I have way more experience with 3 positions and they operated opposite of one another...training issue I suppose. My vote - MP5 best rifle ever...(thought I'd stir the pot) HK_mtbr
  11. I got one. It is a nice dao pistol. Not fancy. No short reset. But what I feel is a good platform, that will become a great one. I was really attreacted to the registered trigger group that can be moved to different grips, calibers, etc. Like my HK 9X series rifles. I hope magpul or some one else makes some additional grip options too. My two cents... <minor rant> they only come with one 15 rd magazine <rant off>
  12. pc...but Macs have better...commercials
  13. I assume the shooter wasn't carrying a "Man Bag" right? I would have to draw the line there...I saw those pic of the race kilt...where does this end?
  14. Here is where to get them... http://www.hkspecialist.net/ His email is: Gm1854@aol.com His name is Gordon Miller. I don't have any affiliation with Gordon other than being a returning customer. From what I have heard small parts are getting hard to come by for some reason. See a3 and B below. I hope this helps...
  15. I don't think so much about it being on the sternum...but rather think squeeze the teet. as for me it is on the inside of my pect. muscle TOWARD the sternum. I'm more of an MP5 shooter and that is the method learned in the official HK MP5 operators course. It does feel awkward at first but once learned it gives a great stable platform from which to shoot. Our instructor put a full 30 round mag in a 3" target at 7 yds with this method...one hole. Saw it with my own four eyes...YMMV
  16. Would you use a "thigh" holster with that?

    Bikers...

Yep I've been riding hydraulic disk brakes for 3 years now. I would like to see those more on road bikes...they are coming. I still prefer the ride of my hardtail with respect to handling and response.
  18. I use Smith Optics for my Rx safety option. they are wrap around and very close to the face. The saved me from some 45 brass. It hit me almost square in the middle of y right lens and left a divot. I was glad I had them on...regualr Rx glasses (daily wear) would not have held up. FWIW
  19. I recently purchased a sweet pair of Nills grips for my Sig X5. I have been reading the new rulebook for 08 and see where thumb-rests aren't legal. Would this pair be out for competition?

    Bikers...

Truth be told I'm more afraid on the road, than on a cliff. And I'm always afraid of scratching the paint on my road bike, too. Training on the road really helps in the woods... ...and track guys on the road...what the...I need my brakes

    Bike Riders

I've done a lot of pedaling but not so much petaling except with daisies...Of course I stay in the woods where God intended people to ride...
