  1. I am attempting to put a new grip on my Eagle and I am having trouble getting the grip holes to line up with the frame holes. I thought that the new grip might be FUBAR, so I tried a second new grip. The second grip lined up just like the first one did. This led me to believe that the new grips need some "fitting", but before I started "fitting" anything, I thought that I would try to put the original grip back on. The original lined up just like the other two. I have tied smacking the bottom of the grip with a hammer as shown in the Dawson reassembly video on Youtube, but it doesn't help. I am able to get one screw in, but I managed to bend the interior bushing of the second screw. The holes are only about the thickness of a business card away from lining up. Am I missing something? Is there a secret trick to this? How much force is needed to get a grip back on the frame?
  2. I lube my guns with the free $hit that falls to bottom of my goodie bags. After tens of thousands of rounds and using whatever lube that happens to be on the shelf, and within reach, I see no reason to change now.
  3. Stay away from Italian Sunglasses "sponsorship". There are a few dozen of us that figured out that the Vitamin Water only tastes good if you're at the top of the pyramid.
  4. How is she gripping the slide? Have her grip the slide over the top with her thumb facing her chest. While bracing the forearm of the hand that is over the top of the slide against her strong side ribs, ask her to think "push" the gun instead of "pull" the slide. I don't know if it is the best way to do it, but it seems to help some of the ladies that I've worked with. It is easy, and the human body is stronger, when we work work close to our bodies. I often see people holding the gun too far away from their bodies when trying to rack the slide. Also, have her begin racking the slide with the hammer back or the striker "fired". Good luck!
  5. I noticed that Daniel Horner zeroed stage 5. is that the stage where he allegedly swept himself and was disqualified from that stage but not the entire match?
  6. Sean, You cashed my check (#2775) on 15 November 2011, so I don't know why you wouldn't have a record of my order. Please PM, email or call me so that we can get a refund taken care of. Thanks.
  7. Well, there is no deposit with Rick right? DAA is already shipping the new Mr. Bulletfeeder so you could cancel with Rick and order from DAA and have it in a week or so. As for me, I will keep waiting on Rick for now. I ordered throguh Sean Gaines and Power Factor. It has been so long that I am not sure if he charged it to my CC or not. I need to check.
  8. I ordered mine on 08 November 2011 and I have not received it yet. I was told mid-April, then the end of May, then by the second week of June, then by the end of June. Rick has been very good about replying to my e-mails, but who fu*king knows when I will actually get it?

    Vest

What's next, bag your gun between stages so you aren't carrying around an unnecessary couple of pounds? I like to pretend I am CCW and keep my gun under concealment. Kind of in the Spririt Of The Game and an effort to Do Right. Me too! I like to pretend I am a chairborne ranger when I am in full Tactical Timmy wear at an IDPA match.

    Vest

Smith Alexander vest are way too lightweight for competition. They tend to hang up and get in the way. Wear the heaviest and stiffest vest that you can. The 5.11 are nice because you can leave the velcro panels in them to add even more stiffness. The weight of a vest doesn't matter because you only wear it for a total of 3 minutes per match. I always chuckle when I see people standing around sweating while wearing their vest. You can take it off when you aren't shooting.
  11. I don't see how HoMIE's put his own spin on a rule interpretation. If you push your first shot and missed target 1 of 3 in a tac secquence array, you have engaged it by firing one shot at it regardless of if it is a hit or miss. By definition you have to move onto target 2 and 3 or incur a PE for making up a shot on target 1 with out engaging the remaining 2 targets in the array. Once all target (1-3) have been engaged once you can make up any missed shots, in this case the one that was pushed on target 1. In this example the shots would look like 1-1-2-1-2 instead of 1-1-2-1-1. Simply each target must be shot at one time before any can be shot at twice. As i like to say, every one at the table has to be served once before anyone can have seconds. Some define engaged as "to shoot at", while others define it as " to hit". There is a huge difference. I was referring to the second part of his paragraph where he discusses "calling a miss and making it up before moving on". There is already way too much subjectivity in IDPA. We don't need "did he call his shot" as well as "did he dump a round" to the SO's list of judgement calls.
  12. Hmmmm....is it even possible to be dropped to IDPA MM from USPSA GM? That would be f-ing hilarious to see those match results!
  13. Award DM trophies just like any other class.
  14. Thanks. I have recently started doing about 30 minutes of dry fire practice a day, but it's mostly drawing from the holster to first shot repititions. I'll definitely pick up these books. Remember, dry fire practice is so much more than "draw, click, holster, draw, click, holster". You only "draw, bang" once per stage, so spend some time on all of the other things that happen after the draw and first bang.
  15. Ask the SO what his definition of "engaged" is. "Engaged" is not defined in the IDPA rule pamphlet. As you can see by HoMIE's reply, he managed to put his own spin on the poorly defined rule and other SO's will do the same.
  16. The third commandment? Is that the one that says: No soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law. I am amazed that some people ever leave their house because they are so easily offended.
  17. Corey is shootin' Production? Looks like I will be shootin' Single Stack. Oh yeah... However, I am sure that one of the other KY single stack terminators will show up and ruin my fun.
  18. An M&P will fit right in shooting production.
  19. STIHL. They cost more than most and they are worth it. Any STIHL product will outlast it's owner.
  20. They must be on top of the second barrel before the last shot is fired. I find it kind of funny how people, myself included at times, will completely overthink the simplest task. In our squad of eight people, I think there were six different versions of cuff transport and nearly two dozen possible plans for cuff transport. Really? You would've thought we were required to carry an Atlas stone or something.
  21. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=139171&st=25&gopid=1712544entry1712544 Here are the stages. It was a fun match.
  22. I had a rough start to the day with some gun/ammo issues, bad foot work and a little too much tension on a certain hoser classifie, but I pulled it together after that. Once I decided to relax and let my sights control the speed, things went much smoother. I managed to get through the match with only a few deltas, zero mikes and zero NS. I was pleased with my reloads...except for that POS one on Can You Count. Ugh. I was VERY unprepared for this match. Due to work and travel, I was unable to get any practices in before the match. It was very apparent! All things considered, I think I turned in an acceptable performance.
  23. This was a rough match for me. I have no idea what the hell was going on in my head for "that one stage". Just watch and you'll find it quite easily. It was a case of moving too fast, manipulating the trigger too slow and then just having my brain shut off. Ugh.
