  1. I said it was dumb for many reasons. #1 What about the guy who has a Sig P226 and Bladetech gear with a CR belt? Or the guy who wants a hardchrome finish because he lives in a humid climate and doesn't want rust? Setting a dollar limit to fit your pet gun and gear isn't a thought out reason for a major change like HAVING to sell our stuff if you win and someone wants it. If you want to shoot a surplus Glock fine, nothing wrong like that, people like Lawman (Chuck) get as good as they are from working hard and dedication to improvement. He practiced and traveled a LOT. Most good shooters will tell people trying to "buy" improvement, greatness is in the sweat, not the dollars spent on gear. But this is still America last I checked.
  2. That is just dumb, but that is just my opinion. My production equiptment is pretty simple, but it can win any match in the right hands. When was the last time the equpitment won a big match? Look at all the open major 9mm guns or shortys, are any of them winning the major matches? People want to spend money for things that they "think" will give them an advantage. Just look at the top shooters and their gear, not much that is too trick, that stuff is mostly in A,B, and C Class. The top shooters know what works, and it is pretty simple. People want to spend money, that just the American way. So, whatever the rules are they need to be simple enough and smart enough to keep people from skirting them.
  3. The chuck/jaws for the rotatry table. I might need one for the mill to, as I haven't gotten the box that supposedly has the rest of the parts. Thanks.
  4. I was thinking if I want to make money, me doing it in my shop isn't the ticket. There are some good shop around that can crank stuff out on very good machines. On the rotary table would something like this be OK. http://cgi.ebay.com/8-HORIZONTAL-VERTICAL-...1QQcmdZViewItem What about the chuck? Anything to look out for? Thanks, I'm learning a ton.
  5. Would it be worth going cnc on this machine? Everything moves really well. Do you have a ballpark of what it cost you?
  6. I don't know if it is a piece worth CNCing or not, I don't know much about them or how much it would cost. I just know I'm pretty excited to have this huge hunk of metal sitting in my workshop.
  7. I got a new to me Bridgeport series I Model 82184. It has a digital readout for height, but I want eletronics for the table too. I want something decent but I don't want to spend lots of $. It has a motorized feed table and a Kurt vise. I'm looking for a round vise too. I have a class 3 Manufacturer helping me out, but I thought I would ask for help here to, because I always get excellent input. Any tips on where and what to get is appreciated. I know I need cooling too. Low cost is good, but I want a decent setup. My business is picking up and I want to make guns with cool custom cuts and prototypes of things that get stuck in my head. The mill is in pretty good shape, it was in a barn for awhile so I spent the day cleaning it up and everything moves smoothly and it seems super sturdy and very solid (2000 pounds or so.) Anyways, thanks in advance and any advise or good training materials would be appreciated.
  8. I don't care what coast, I'm not even sure where this customer is from I get weird request all the time, and I'm focusing on just keeping up with the Xd's I get in. A list of guys that are good at revos will be helpful to get people on the right track. What better place to get that list than here?
  9. That is just wrong... Thanks for the phone #
  10. I believe he was shooting a Glock when he made GM in Production. Classifiers are minor friendly, the HF's are so high you need A's and they only take your best ones, so it isn't the same as a match. Movers and partials kill your score in minor.
  11. CR Speed, if you do a search there is a TON posted on this.
  12. No luck with the URL I'll try a pm, thanks ~ Scott
  13. So who is a great revolver gunsmith with reasonable turnaround? I have customer who needs some work done and I don't do revos and I would like to point them in a good direction. Thanks ~ Scott
  14. I tried it this last weekend shooting 16 round mags and minor in Limited. You just drop too many points on partials, movers, and time on closer targets IMO. I was shooting pretty good points too, although each stage was 50+ rounds it illustrated how much I was really losing by big point stages. One stage I had 7 C's and got beat by a guy who had a mike and the same time. Not even close to worth it IMO.
  15. Run-N-Gun, old school style.
  16. How much is your time worth? That makes it easy for me to go with the Dillon.
  17. One of each. I like shooting the .40 better, it is cheaper, but if you don't have a SS .45 you need one
  18. 190 vs. 170 170's loads will make you elbows last longer. A pretty significant difference in my opinion. 14 work fine at 170 for me.
  19. See you guys there. I missed it last year. Always fun seeing the revos and the red wagons full of moon clips.

WalterMitty, how about this one? http://www.break.com/index/burger_king_911.html
  21. Atleast people aren't selling their expensive home in Kali and buying up the land so no one that wasn't here 4-6 years ago can afford a house. 350-400K is about as cheap as you can buy a semi decent place. A few years ago it was 120-160k I'm glad I had a couple places before that happened.
