  1. I have met more people from that part of the world or who have family there since I started shooting then ever before. Even one of my best shooting partners and coach was born there. Welcome to the forums sir!
  2. The flu. My whole family has it as of yesterday. Very low grade except for Jimmy who did not get his flu shot. Dumbass...
  3. That my friend is irony.
  4. The ONLY reason this keeps getting pushed is because of totally flawed logic. NOT once in American legal history is there a case where handloaded ammo, or even a modified trigger changed the outcome. The ONLY case Ayoob can come up with is the case of a man who murdered his wife and tried to assert it was suicide with "low powered" handloads. COMPLETE MYTH! STOP perpetuating ignorance! And yes, I am a court certified ballistics and shooting reconstruction expert. I too concur with The-Vigilante . . . carry factory ammo. Just common sense to eliminate that possibility, don't you think? In my 65 years of life, I have found those who boast about being experts are the ones I trust the least. You obviously know little about MarkCO. Not only as certified an EXPERT as you can be, but also a practical and intelligent person. Don't jump on the hysteria band wagon guys. Look at the precedent in the case stated and really try and see where that relates to what the OP was talking about. I just figured that the best ammo, that is the most potent/deadly would probably be a commercially loaded cartridge. If I could make one that was better, than I would have no issue loading them up. Who is to say that the ammo that you have loaded is for any purpose definitively? If it worries you, then do not. If it does not, load away.
  5. I just don't know of any pistol rounds that you can buy over the counter, so to speak, that perform to the level of what commercial loaders sell as defensive ammo.
  6. He IS in Florida. Realistically it is probably cheaper to just use what you can buy over the counter. I seriously doubt the folks of your lovely state would find you at fault for saving your own skin.
  7. I'd contact the kid, and have his mother contact you. Explain that you care not to ever see her kid, that there are no strings attached, and that this is how it is in the shooting community. Then if she declines you can at least feel that you gave it a decent try. Either that or forget it. I just know that with people, sometimes it depends on the day that you caught them. When they hear it from you they often change their attitude.
  8. What exactly is wrong with the DPMS rifle? In comparison with the Stag? I own several Stag rifles, and no DPMS. Having said that, the DPMS rifles I have seen seem like nice enough rifles. What specifically is missing from the DPMS rifle in comparison? Just really curious. I am currently selling one rifle I have to fund an upper. Looking and researching the pros and cons of various platforms.
  9. Tom, Was the set up on this machine that difficult? Do you anneal after resizing? What is the reason annealing is done?
  10. PICS or it did not happen. Need some .22 ammo. I do have some .17hmr and the Ruger bolt gun. Hmmm...... Need to play hoookey tomorrow
  11. Thanks. Put myself in for the notice. I think this will be my first chrono, radar, whatever.
  12. Especially when I just picked up a S&W 15/22. I had to trade some .308 ammo finally for it and some bullets. Just not much around here. Hopefully that will change sometime soon.
  13. Spray paint cans we try and hit with a glancing shot just nicking the bottom edge. They spin, get airborne, and leave cool swirl patterns in the dirt. Milk jugs and any high velocity bullet. Some never make it out the other side as a unit. Found some cans yesterday half buried in the wash. made them dance at 35yds with the AR. I too LOVE SHOOTING STUFF!
  14. Practicing reloads will do this to my weak hand elbow. Push-ups do not help with this at all.
  15. I like the way the TS feels weight wise. If I were to shoot limited again, it would probably be with a TS. I do know also that my TS was very accurate too. Stock sights were good as any others I have put on a pistol.
  16. BBs, a glue gun, and an exacto knife can turn any hull into a dummy round.
  17. Village idiot? Which one? The one with the makeshift helmet (at least he was thinking), or the guy in the hoody (yeah, this will protect my noggin great!).
  18. Sweet looking shotgun now. Hmmm........ I see this in my future.
  19. Cool picture. I think that is the village idiot reporter...
  20. Sweet. I love a good show, that sounds like a great one.
  21. My next rifle purchase this year. Just what the doctor ordered.
  22. Reposado is what Mrs. Zip likes to drink either as a shot, or with lime juice over ice. One of my favorites when I used to drink. It is as very smooth liquor that kind if warms you over. A great shooter too. New Years Eve had Mrs. Zip in rare form. Thanks to the Reposado.
  23. Try it with plate racks too. This will force you to be quick with your transitions. Start close, work back. No taping. If you don't care about taping, then El Presidente is a good one too. Reload, regrip, track your sights at speed. Fun stuff.
  24. And mic the difference between the two, that is a fully loaded magazine, one with a round down, another with two down etc. Use the mag in question, and another. You will get numbers that you can quantify and you will KNOW, rather than suspect.
