  1. +1 Arc'teryx Knee Caps are the best. Slim enough to wear under your pants. Easy on/off with shoes on. The top strap is elastic, the lower strap is non-stretch, so they do not slide down your calf and they bend easily with your knee.
  2. I'm likin' the new Eotac shorts. They're bit roomier than the 5.11's and they're also a lighter wt cotton.
  3. I have a SP01 Shadow, love it. Very good production gun. Is there something specific you want to know? Lots of info on these in the forums...Look for posts by eerw. Also check http://www.czforumsite.info/
  4. http://vault.sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vau...77173/index.htm I think its just plain strange, but I like it. I dont think its practical for the average Sporting Clays course, but it'll keep the trap and skeet guys beer cold. The article is from 1965...I guess they're working out the kinks.
  5. Who knows what'll change between now and Sept... the IDPA Nat'ls may cause a few matches to shift around. But keep an eye on http://www.okshooters.com/index.php the forum there has competition sections. Usually theres a match of some sort every weekend at USSA, and also at Oil Capital (nearby) USPSA, IDPA, Steel Challenge, Pro Am, you name it. Also check this thread: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...92&hl=tulsa and: http://www.bentworks.com/oksection/
  6. If you cant follow the safety rules under perfect, controlled conditions... how are you going to follow them the rest of the time?
  7. You've obviously had some practice. I dont know about this weekend. I may do Oil Cap, prob not OKC, But I may shoot sporting clays instead, or a tactical rifle match. I will of course shoot Monday night.
  8. Bubber put on an impressive display and was kind enough to let me borrow a complete revo rig to try my first ICORE match. Thanks Bubber! Of course now I'll have to buy a wheelgun.
  9. I got my butt kicked...it was my first attempt at shooting a wheelgun. Borrowed gun, no practice, glacial reloads. I would've needed 70 handicap points to surpass Spraylord. Many many thanks to Bubber for loaning me his revo and rig and providing ammo. Being indoctrinated in the way of the wheelgun by him was well worth the price of admission. I asked him if I could reimburse his ammo expense...he said "Pay it forward when you can, take someone shooting" Bubber, of course, won the match.
  10. I think some smack has been spoken on my behalf, without my knowledge and consent. I dont even know how I ended up in this forum. But, let me get this straight. I've never shot ICORE, and dont own a revo rig. You want me to shoot my 5 shot, 2" snubby J frame back up gun, with no moons, or speedloaders etc. You're getting amped up to beat me? Dude, set your sights a little higher;-) All said with a smile of course. Now, having said all that...if you shoot a snubby too, its on. Or, if a suitable revo rig can be procured for me, its on. (I may need a small handicap, since I've never shot a wheelgun) I'll bet your pizza tab.
  11. Manufacturers rep for several outdoor gear companies. I sell backpacks, clothing, shoes, rope, hats, watches, etc.
  12. One valuable thing to take away from the ND/AD incident: The shooter was a seasoned master...if he could do it, any of us could do it.
  13. Nice pro-gun article, the reporter takes part in our local Steel Challenge match. http://sync.arkansasonline.com/news/2009/f...4/shoot-thrill/ Oh, and I'm mentioned in it;-) The thing is; a few days before, another local online newspaper (very anti gun) chose to publish the names and addresses of all of our states ccw holders (myself included) So its nice to see a positive piece. I have to take the good with the bad, I suppose. The Yin, the Yang, and the bang bang.
  14. I have spent many many hours of my life watching driving videos online... My avatar and I approve;-)
  15. Yes. As long as you position them as the rulebook diagram shows.
  16. The slide racker sounds cool. I wonder if an extended mag release would interfere with my grip. I'd like to have a *thumb rest [generic]* style thumb rest. One other oddball note; I have the Tac Sol / Hogue aluminum grips...when installed they rub on the trigger return bar. Theres a 'pocket' milled in the grip there to accomodate it, but it isnt deep enough. A few minutes of grinding took care of it. The grips are light and grippy.
  17. Whats the spring flip trigger job? http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showt...4356&page=4 Scroll to Post #52 at the link above. Its also known as the Heggis Flip, or Heggis trick. Basically you just flip the hammer spring around backwards...it reduces trigger pull by approx 50% (I have not measured it, but its a very noticable reduction) If you dont like it, flip it back. I have no gunsmithing skills...I usually just hand it to Mike Cyrwus at Accurate Iron;-) But I was able to do this one in minutes. I'm very happy with the results. Everyone I've shown this to has been pleased. YMMV

  19. Arkansas shooters breathe a sigh of relief; one less name above theirs in the results... Pennsylvania shooters gasp; one more name above theirs in the results... I dont really know Jack, we've shot a few of the same local matches and been squadded together at least once. Seems like a nice guy and I've learned a few things by watching him run stages. (not to mention reading his posts) Just kidding about the sighs and gasps, but I do hope you find some recreation time amid the moving chaos, it's good for the soul.
  20. Yeah, I cheated and shot Open Rimfire. But I finished ahead of some guys that usually beat me. More importantly, I consistantly called my shots and really felt like I was 'driving' the gun. It just seemed like I was doing it the way its supposed to be done. So, it feels good;-)
