  1. Invector is the type of choke tube that those barrels require. They make an Invector and an Invector Plus. Nice solid guns, mine is 30+ years old, with many thousands of rounds thru it. Still runs like a champ.
  2. I have the Ice on a G35. Super easy installation.
  3. Or you could sell that barrel cheap to me. I'm in Ft Smith.
  4. +1 for the Vanek trigger. I just put one in my G35. Oh boy, its nice! Why didnt I do this a long time ago??????
  5. Is there an aftermarket .40 follower for Glocks that is the 'hot set-up' for extended mags? Seems like I remember some by Novak (?), but I cant find them. I want one that offers just a hair more room for the 20th round.
  6. FWIW, I shot the monthly 'club match' version of this event yesterday. It was a blast, really, soooo fun, even though my performance was dismal. If 35 shooters will slosh thru the mud at the the club match in miserable weather, then I think the Nat'l Pro-Am version will be very well attended. Great match, great concept, great facility, be there or miss out.
  7. I use a Comp Tac for my G35 and G19. Very nice, I have no complaints at all.
  8. Now if you were into sporting clays, you'd have it made. But, in addition to the club in Joplin, you have options if you dont mind shooting down in area 4. Tontitown Ar. is 2> hrs away and has matches on 2nd Monday nights. Ft Smith AR. is 3hrs away, matches on 3rd Sundays. Tulsa, OK. has lots of matches (3 clubs) and is also about 3ish hrs away. Harrison and Mtn Home AR are just south of you, and both have active clubs. http://casarange.com/arsection/index.htm IDPA is headquartered just south of you in Berryville AR. Lots of IDPA in the area. Interesting note: MO lifted their old jim crow era handgun laws recently. Handgun sales in MO are on a big upswing. Now would be a great time for Clubs in MO to promote their clubs and our sport.
  9. Trivial, but interesting; In the April '08 'Front Sight' magazine, (inside NROI) Mr. Amidon states that the SR9 is not approved for Production division. However, its been in the online USPSA Production approved list for a while now. I suppose the magazine just has an unusually long lag time for printing.
  10. Accuracy develops confidence. Confidence develops speed. Its doesnt work as well in the opposite direction.
  11. Production division, kydex (Comp Tac) Holster. I generally keep my holster adjusted to hold the gun tight. I often use this holster for regular carry. I also like it tight for pasting, scoring, resetting etc. At 'make ready' I load up and holster the gun but I dont 'snap' it into the holster. RO says I have to insert it fully. No argument from me. Before the next stage I just go to the safe area, loosen the retention a bit, and carry on to win the division. (yeah) Now, after browsing the rulebook and searching this forum I cant find a ruling on this issue. Rules pertaining to retention straps dont apply. Old rules about retention test are null. Am I missing something in the rulebook?
  12. I saw the 5" M&P 9L at SHOT today... very nice. They also showed a 5" M&P9 professional model with f/o sights, tuned trigger, etc. Was told 'sometime this spring' for availability. I've been wanting a 5" M&P9 for a while, so I was psyched to see these.
  13. I've lurked here for awhile, but never posted...most of my questions have been answered by searching. One issue that havent found an answer to is this; Are there any shootability issues with an alloy frame in the single stack division? Will the 6 or 7oz difference matter much? I'm not concerned with the durability, etc. I've just been shopping for a new 1911 and some of them that I like so far have been alloy framed (Kimbers) This would be in .45acp of course. I've narrowed my choices to Kimber and STI in the $900-1200ish price range.
