  1. Last year a buddy had problems with the 1oz shells fitting in his shell caddy. If you use an alternate shell holding device you should be fine. Otherwise, check to see they fit when they come in so you can get a different shell holder prior to a match if needed. Don't forget about your tube as well. Longer shells may decrease your guns capacity.
  2. Here is another angle. I also find the 90 deg easier to back and forth between irons. Other pics
  3. I modified my DOH Singray to work with the QLS - Had to add a couple holes and screws. Made me feel more comfortable due to the weight of the pistol. Down side is I believe it now sticks out too far from the belt to be USPSA legal.
  4. I'm up over $1k easily, but I have: 2 Holster setups + parts for a 3rd 4 pistol mag pouches 2 AR mag pouches 4 308 mag pouches 6 MME Caddies 4 Carbon Arms load 2 1 4x4 1 belt 2 inner belts
  5. LaRue SPR-E and 100yd zero. The 300yd zero lines up now at about 7 yds to 25.
  6. Used it for 3 big matches last year. Loved it for the long range stages, but had trouble with 50 yards & in, especially when no- shoots are involved. I hit 6 at FB3G. Over the last few months, I've put it on my .22 and gone through a couple thousand rounds on plate racks, paper target transitions and half covered head shots. I'm getting a bit more comfortable with the reticle for close up targets now.
  7. Welcome! CASA is still hosting monthly matches - 1st Sunday. The AR Section match will be there in June and Area 4 will be in Ft Smith in September.
  8. used practiscore at our local 3gun match this weekend for time plus scoring . Worked great! Big thanks to MGM, STI, and all the other sponsors.
  9. I have a QD YHM 308 can. I have used it on .223, 762x39 and 308. Put a QD mount on all the rifles I wanted to use it on and just swap it out. I am happy with its performance as well.
  10. I put a Fulton Armory Lightweight Match barrel on my 308. Here is a 5 shot group shooting Federal GMM 168's with a 4x scope: I'm very happy with it.
  11. I'm fortunate enough to have a shooting buddy with one of these: http://www.magmaengineering.com/component/banners/click/12/ Here it is in action: Did about 4000 pieces in a little over an hour.
  12. Instead of buying another optic, I just swap mine between my rifle and my .22. I have my rails marked - My Bushnell is in a LaRue SPR-E and it ha no problems with returning to zero when I put it back on my main rifle. I always check zero before a match, and so far it has required very little adjustment.
  13. I've read where the magwell is tight on these. Troy mags work, GI mags are ok, but PMags are real tight.
  14. Best advice I can give is when you set your belt up, make sure you put the two metal prongs on the outer belt in a place where you can put it on by yourself. I suggest having them hit just behind the holster. Mine is in the center of my back and I usually have to have help to make sure it's secure.
  15. I ran a gasbuster on my SBR. It worked better than a regular CH, but I still got a shot of gas every now and then. Just got an Noveske Switchblock upper. Haven't had any gas in the face since.
  16. I use the inexpensive / reusable Tupperware food storage boxes from Walmart. One of the medium sized can hold about 300 rounds of 40 at about 2/3 full. They are inexpensive and stack easily in my cabinet.
  17. I've had real good luck with my Fulton Barrel. .5" groups at 100 yds with Federal GMM. I started out with a DPMS AP4 I picked up for $600 - got real lucky there. Stripped it down and dumped everything but the upper, lower, charging handle, bolt & carrier. Added a stock, JP fire control, JP 15" handguard & adjustable gas block, Fulton barrel and SJC Titan comp. Sent the carrier off to Benny & he lightened it. After selling all the spare parts and the work on the carrier, I ended up with about $1000 in the gun before optics. Here is a pic before I added the 15" handguard.
  18. I prefer the JP standard trigger. Their easy fit is nice and easier to install, but I like the standard better.
  19. Great match! Stages were challenging and the Practiscore Program made scoring a breeze! Scores were final less than 30 min after the last shot! Looking forward to next year's match. Here is my video. Ended up 3rd in Tactical and 3rd overall
  20. So what happens if someone loads 9 in their shotgun tube - do they get bumped to DQ?
  21. Another cool option: http://www.boomershooter.com/forums/index.php?/topic/9605-finally-a-use-for-spent-primers/#entry117184
