  1. More matches, not a problem I wonder if the fact I dry fire now with only fully weighted mags(dummy rounds) will have some effect on this in my mind, should be interesting.
  2. My family owns a 5 acre field that is a 45 sec. drive from my house. The family has used this field for shooting for as long as I can remember. I was given the ok to make permanent changes if I wanted to. I plan on just using a portion of the field to set up one permanent bay for private USPSA practice use. I am looking for suggestions on the size of the bay and what props/targets(and number) would you feel essential to such an undertaking. Also keeping in mind a way to secure(mostly from weather) all the equipment on site. Some quick brainstorming got me things like this: 25yd X 25Yd bay with the ability for 50yd shots. If I can tuck it into the field the way I want I should be able make a 100yd lane for sighting rifles. 20 wood H target stands w/sticks of varied height I have steel plate collection that keeps growing One swinger and DT should be enough Maybe 2ea PP and USP 2 Bianchi barricades Handful of barrels Texas Star Plate rack 4 start boxes Something for fault lines Snow fence Suggestions? Im not going to go out and buy all at once, just some ideas to get the wheels turning.
  3. So a couple of times I have been able to let loose at a match, but only when I am mentally drained or physically spent to the point my head is empty. This results in my best runs. It seems that some of the safety stuff I was taught as a kid need to be "put away" at a match. It is hard for me to explain, but someone must know what I am talking about. Any tips for getting over it? I am not talking about the real safety stuff. Mom and Dad always taught me not to run around with a gun, don't do quick draws, don't shoot from wacky positions. I know I can and have done all this stuff safely at matches, but there is still a mental roadblock in my speed that I feel comes from this. Give me a verified empty gun and I will do this stuff as fast as my body will allow, but as soon as I get a "hot" gun I slow down for safety sake. Uhg, its bugging the heck out of me. Maybe I am wrong and its something else? Maybe I am still "green" and just need more time behind the gun at matches?
  4. Neat that I found this thread, just got a #1 and #2. I have not started a regimen yet as I was looking for some direction first. I could close the #1 out of the box with my right(3 reps) and almost with my left(2 reps). I was planning on working out 3 days a week- Mon, Wed, Fri. Is that too much?
  5. I don't know exactly what they do, but to me it did feel better than when I had polished parts and aftermarket springs in my 34. The take-up does feel a lot shorter, which is why I went to it. I was in too much of a hurry to really compare the parts side by side, but since my cousin just got a 34 and wants to put a Challenger in it I am going to look carefully at the parts side by side and note any differences. About the return spring, maybe it is left out due to the fact the trigger seems light enough as is(liability?). I have one, I might throw it in to compare.
  6. Ordered one with an extra mag today, also ordered up sights to match my G34. Cant wait.
  7. Will these take aftermarket Glock sights and can you align the lasers to the sights? I would love one of these and if I can put Sevigny Comp sights on it that would be great.
  8. Alright guys. Tite Group is the only one I can find local(10 min from work). So it would seem that it would be the most logical choice from a $$ standpoint. Now as far as bullets...nothing local. Would it be a wise idea to order up some 500ct boxes from various online vendors to sample? I would like to stick with TMJ/CMJ 147s. How do you guys feel about plated bullets out of Glocks at 130-132pf? I have never used plated bullets before, just jacketed. What kind of pressure/velocity differences are there between plated and jacketed? Seems like I have seen plated bullet loads use less powder to make pf(yes or no?). Most loads I have seen for plated are making pf at 3.0-3.2gr of TG.
  9. Considering this trigger for my carry 19 and 26. I have a question. Have you ever used the Challenger from Glocktrigger? I have one in my game gun and wondering how this compares. Thanks
  10. Bullseye, I ran across a full can of that in my gun room. Got the all the hardware yesterday now I just gotta go get some powder/primer/bullet supplies. Thanks for all the replies.
  11. Thanks guys, I bought the NR Topnotch kit so all the hardware is taken care of. I reloaded quite a bit in high school(class of 98), but now that I have my own place, family, ect, I have no idea where all my stuff went so I ordered up the whole shebang for a fresh start. Clays was on the list, but I knew there are different ones and don't what they are so I left it out for now.
  12. Ordered up a 550 kit from Brian this weekend. I have no components on hand at the moment just brass. I would like to try to buy powder locally due to shipping cost. Ill be loading 9 minor for Production for two guns one is a G34 the other a G19. What powders should be on my list of options? I already have N320, Titegroup, Solo 1000, and WST on the list. What else is out there I should be looking for? I will be running 147gr bullets. After reading on the forums here I really want to find some 320, but I don't know if anyone around here will have it. I want to have a powder list sorted out so I can call the shops in the area to see if they have any on hand before venturing out to buy some. Thank You

  14. Let me know what you think of it in regards to how similar is is to a Glock.
  15. I'd like a G35 for Limited, and the gun setup is in line with what I like. To answer the original question: $800
  16. Hello, Anyone here have some hands on time with the KWA A.T.P.? Since Glocks are hard to come by and the A.T.P. is the "replacement" I was wonder how good of a gun it is and how Glock-like it is. Thank You Patrick Scott
  17. My 3GS with IOS5 only works when I don't need it. Had it working after the update, but last weekend at the range...not so much.
  18. Beltman for dress Ares Gear Ranger for everything else.
  19. My channel. First year of competition, Production, G34 http://www.youtube.com/user/ghostb14?feature=mhee
  20. I have two gen 3 guns, G19 and G34. I have one gen 4, G26. The G26 had rust on the left side from carry(IWB) within 6 months. I'll admit I never did anything to prevent it, but I carried my G19 for over a year the same way/same holster without any such issue. I dont like the look of the new finish either. The G26 will be getting Duracoated this winter.
  21. Bitten no, but I do get what I call "Glock Tracks" sometimes. Two black grease lines on the web.
  22. I personally disagree...classifiers and classification is how we measure ourselves to the rest of our piers...thus the whole diappointment because I know I am B shooter capable already just my first few scores were crap lol I understand your point, but I(personally) base my progression on match results, not just "ripping" on one single stage. Good example is that I can perform to B level on classifiers, but my field course planning is(I feel)lacking compared to my competition in Production. This is why I will be running Limited-minor for a few matches with big mags and my Production gun, just to make sure its planning not shooting thats my downfall.
  23. Little late to this party, but: Shoot first USPSA Match- Met goal 4/17/11 Top ten in Production- Met goal at every match so far(out of five) Top five in Production- Met goal 6/12/11 Top three in Production- Met goal 8/14/11 Win Production- Not yet Win a stage- Not yet Reach B classification in Production- Not yet Shoot in Limited with Production gun- Not yet Have fun- Goal met every single time!
  24. I started shooting USPSA this year(April) first classification was D, then I made C, shot 2 at B level and blew the last one. I may not make my goal of reaching B in my first year, but with out setting that goal I would still be D I think. Besides, classifiers are just another stage.
  25. Thanks everyone! Since I am such a noob, I am going to stick with Production for a (long)while. I'll just tinker the 1911 up slowly when I have time/money. Those big blue machines have all of my attention at the moment.
