Great match look forward to shooting it again next year...

There are so many variables that come to mind when a gun is not running. Check your springs in the gun alot of times taking some weight off the slide can help improve the overall function of the gun. If that gun has the tru-bore comp get the slide down to about 10.5oz and that could fix the problem. I had the same issue with a tru-bore open gun cut the weight off and it worked from there.

My load is 9.8grn of HS6 with a 115grn bullet 8lb spring and the gun can run with out cleaning past 1k rounds.

I have used the CR speed for 4 years and it works great. The race master holster is also a very nice set up being that once it locks it will not come out.

I have shot many open guns over the last 5 yrs. The comp Akai puts out by far works the best.

9.5 to 10oz would be a good weight. I load 9.8grn hs6 115gr mg. Gun runs super flat akai comp and 4 holes.

Took a five foot fall landing right on my shoulder and ribs 2 weeks before the match. As of now can't push or pull with my strong hand. Looks like this is going to be a tuff match. With a lot of great master shooters at the match I'm hopping I can hold my own. Oh well no pain no game!

When shooting two targets close together you should never hear a pause in your shooting, weather it is fast or slow. See your sights call your shots snap your head to the next Target see your sights call your shots. A drill I run for transition is anywhere from 3 to 6 targets varying distance and separation. Have some one call out shooting order before standby. Once you can do six try a few more targets with a little more distance. This is the drill that has helped me the most. Hope it helps you out.

Had this happen with a tri glid as well. On mine the trigger shoe had cracked where it connects to the bow. So when you pull the trigger it was never going strait back.

HS6 works great behind a 115grn bullet. does not cost near as much as VV powders

Shay builds great guns. I have a shogun in 38sc loved it some much I ordered another to match with his new comp. I have shot the katana in 9 major and it was a very flat fast gun. Give him a shout tell him what your looking for in a gun and he will build you just that.

27+1 is all you need if it is reliable. Trying to find that extra round is not necessary. It is rare you will ever run a large field course and not reload at some point. Stick to what is working.

You will be very glad with your choice akai builds great guns. I shoot the shogun and that is by far the best shooting open gun I have owned. Before I placed my order with akai I had the chance to shoot a lot of the guns on your list. But had not shot an akai open gun. When I got the gun and has the chance to shoot it well it shot better than any of the other guns I had shot.
