Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I have a 38 super with 5 magazines. Does anyone have a recommendation on a device to help me load the big stick and the stiff 140mm mags? Anyone using the UpLULA by Maglula? Help.
  2. I am going to try one shot on my pistol brass. I guess I am one of the last to hear the good word!
  3. This is why i switched to petroleum based, pic. The first tank corroded on the inside after about 5-6 years. I got my new tank from Toolking, cost was $51 bucks. SLIP doesn't sell them anymore, I am wondering if it was because they didn't play well with their water based solvents. I am using Graymills Agitene solvent from Graingers (2RE49). Works much faster and I don't have to be so careful when drying the parts since there is no water.
  4. That is sweet, I am going to print it out and try it.
  5. I remember sitting around for hours cleaning guns with my dad when I was young. It was the old "news paper and Hoppes #9." Seems like it took forever to do 2-3 guns this way. Once I got shooting and found myself spending more time cleaning guns I got serious about how to go about it. My first breakthrough was with the SLIP2000 parts washer tub and their 725 water based solvent, that was in 2006. I am still in the same tub (replaced once), but i am now using a petroleum based solvent. I love this thing and the entire system. The only other significant component is a small air compressor to dry the parts.
  6. Next match in 2 weeks. Time to practice.
  7. I have a 300 win mag that comes in over 16 lbs. It goes from the car to the bench and home. Biggest weight contributors are the bull barrel, stock, and Night Force optics (56mm).
  8. No issues with TiteGroup on the Dillion 550 tube. However, Winchester AutoComp is sticking to the inside of the tube now.
  9. +1 for Redding dies. They are all I use. I typically use the competition seater die set.
  10. That is a lot of rounds in one month. How many times do you go to the range?
  11. I just had a steel plate rack built for practice. Typically I use 5 IPSC target stands, 5 steel plates (22"x10"), and now I am going to incorporate the plate rack. It has 5 plates on it. I like to shoot steel so I don't have to tape so much.
  12. I am trying out AutoComp and liking it. I also have a ton of TiteGroup, but I don't think I can make major with it.
  13. My dad is a south paw and had an ambidextrous safety on his comp 45ACP. Eventually he just used his trigger finger.
  14. Looks like a nice way to shoot open.
