  1. Appreciate your hard work! Any plans to put together a G43 package deal to sell on the website? Say a +1, +2, connector and sights? Just thinking out loud as a guy who doesn't run a business but was curious Yeah, it's something we've wrestled with. The issue is that most people will want tritium night sights over our fiber optic sights. I really wish I could convince someone to do a tritium front and blk rears... For a carry gun, I think that is the way to go. If I had to choose between the options you post, I would go FO front and blk rears. Are all the parts you have avail on your website to buy?

  3. We just did a little short shootout at our monthly practice between the 43 and the Shield. Take a look if you're interested. https://www.facebook.com/APDMarksmanshipTeam
  4. Alright, I am in. I spoke with Mr Taylor last week and ran some questions by him on this. Talk about a nice guy who is super knowledgeable! I was really impressed. I am going a slightly different route. I am going to make a Glock 17L out of a Gen 4 Glock 17 I traded for a while back. I have started putting together and ordering parts. I will do a blog series for our team's website. Hopefully I can get it all running. I plan on using this for Steel Challenge and 3 Gun. Though I may take a breather from Production for a few weeks and run Limited minor for giggles. Here's where I am starting: Pistol - Glock 17 Gen 4 Barrel - LWD G34 Threaded Sights - Dawson Precision Adjustable blk rear and FO front Trigger - Zev Starter Spring Kit and V4 Disconnector (and LOTS of polishing) Recoil Assembly - Zev SS guide rod and ISMI 13lb spring with Zev reducer washer Magwell - Dawson Ice for Gen 4 with Med back strap. The 9mm ammo I run through my production guns, and what I plan on running through is, is 124 FMJ at 128 Pf. Pretty excited about this.
  5. We're making a connector too! My Man!!! Definitely need to smooth out this trigger. I sure wish someone would make a tritium front and a rear solid black rear like the TTI..... Be a great carry set...
  6. Do we have a thread running yet on all the avail aftermarket parts for G42/43's yet? Surely someone is making something besides sights and base pads.
  7. Thanks! On my production guns, Gen 4 G34s, I pulled the recoil guts and replaced them with a reducer washer, uncap'd guide rod and an ISMI spring. Would that work for this? I am having a hard time talking myself out of this project gun!
  8. Think I could paypal you and grab one from you for a g17 project please??
  9. Less than a month away. It'll be my 2nd major match shooting Production. Really looking forward to this.
  10. That's great. Thank you. Looks like I already have about half our team roped into going with me. Thanks!
  11. Hell, I might be tempted to have my smith lighten up the slide some to reduce the mass cycling. Man this is really tempting.
  12. I just traded for a Gen4 G17 and am having a hard time fighting the urge to buy a barrel, sights and this shroud to try out for a steel gun. Any specs, costs, etc on the lightened block? Obviously I would want to respring the recoil system and I'll prob put my standard trigger in. But this looks really promising and cool.
  13. I have always been pleased with the BSPS. Those guys are great and good shooters too! I regret not ordering from their site sooner. Not to mention you can call them and they actually know what they are talking about if you have questions. I think you have to be M class or something to work there.
  14. 82.21% Getting close Shot some M times on Smoke and Hope yesterday. Nice confidence booster.
  15. I have been running a 7lb spring in my 9mm 1911 with 128 Pf ammo, but it's just not enough spring and the slide tracks a little too slowly. I will be switching out to an 8/9lb next. I shoot Glocks in Production right now, but plan on moving to SS division after Area 4. I think the big thing is working your draws, safety manipulation and getting your first shots off. The point differently due to the grip angles/bore axis and I think some dry work would make a big difference. I use to shot 2011s in Limited, but prior to a few months ago, had not handled the platform in years. One thing is for sure, after getting good at mag changes on a 1911, Glocks are going to be easy peasy!
  16. This is what I used. Going to confirm it at a friend's shipping shop. I am very close, 27.9oz.
  17. I've posted it before, but here's what I did for my G34s for Production. Both pistols are 100% and run great with 124s @ 128 Pf. Tuned Recoil/Trigger Gen4 Glock 34 I think they are great pistols and I am doing well in Production with them. Made A last month and I am sitting 3% from Master. I have been shooting a lot, but the tuned guns and dedicated belt/rig helped a lot. Are there better triggers, sure. But I think there is a lot of value to the Zev/TTI kits and some polish. Tuning the recoil system is key too. Lots of guys like the 13lb spring, I like the way mine shoot better with my ammo and the 11lb spring. These threads are great!
  18. Yeah, now I am showing 144 points on Stage 5, but looks like there are still people getting over 150 points. Not sure what's up. Overall match % for me now is under 75% which sucks, but I am not sure if that's correct or more scoring errors. I guess showing up, having a good match and running the gun well are the most important parts after safety, but not "knowing" the score is frustrating. Guess it's that competitive nature. Glad I shot well for me, but I'd still like to know how it stacks up with the big boys. Gives perspective and an idea of how far of a gap I have to work at covering. So I guess with stage 12 I shot at my Class %, but without it, I am a point under. Guess it's time to just look towards Double Tap and working those mag changes. Going to be a mag change beat down in Production haha.
  19. I hadnt heard of this, but I am not up on practiscore. That would make sense since I thought you couldn't enter more "hits/targets" than what was in the stage. Seriously though, why does this never happen on a stage I tank. It's always on the good ones.
  20. I don't know about Sat and Sun, but my group shot all day Friday. We had several issues with nooks not working at all or correctly and ended up having to run them to stack shack several times. I just checked my scores and in Production, I am showing to have made 154 points on stage 5 : / I see another person with 160. Pretty frustrating. 2,5,8 and 12 were the best stages for me and now 12 is tossed (I assume for range equip failure?) and 5 is obviously messed up with practiscore, showing numerous shooters across squads scoring over the 150 pts. Now I am wondering where I actually stand in the match results. I was hoping to get a good read on how I was stacking up against other shooters on a regional level. I enjoyed the stages very much, but this is pretty disappointing from a Lvl II match.
  21. I think there are 40cal SS pistols in the classifieds here right now. Trojans are very popular and seem to run very well with the right mags.
  22. Both my Gen 4s are a 100% with 128Pf ammo and 11lb springs. It's amazing how much better the guns handle and easier it is to track the sight and get faster splits.
  23. Just out of curiosity, why are guys running RMRs melted into the slide vs traditional mounts? I have a glock 19 with a RMR installed by ATEI, but it's for carry/etc/tactical teddy stuff.
