  1. Why not the Al guide rod? I have the Dawson one in my 9mm SS and the pistol runs great and I have yet to see any issues. Yes the part wears out, but as long as the gun is serviced, I would think it's not a big deal. I believe they are on sale for $10 right now too. I am coming in at 42.5 oz currently. I have switched to the Magpul grips from the ergos. I can get you a weight if it's helpful.
  2. Just some info to help since I couldn't find much on loads. Just got back from the chrono, hope this helps guys. I am still doing load development, just wanted to see what the high and low on the suggested window for titegroup was. My Pf should go up this summer since titegroup is so temp sensative and give me a little more wiggle room on the chrono stages. This ammo shoots nicely, is clean and my gun and I don't notice any smoke unless I screw up the coating. My crimp is set to almost no crimp. They case gauge well and appear to be reasonably accurate. I am going to work on the load and tune it better to the pistol as time allows. I'll try to post up the results as I have time. My cost per a round is coming out to right at 11 cents a round ordering the bulk bullets deal with them and using brass from my range at work. Cost can go down if you can get the S&B primers on sale at Cabelas (19.99). They primers are hard, but work well in both my 1911 and g34. 3. I just started loading 125grn RN Blue Bullets and using Titegroup since it s a powder I can regularly find. I started my load with 3.2grns. I have not had a chance to chrono yet, but it seems light. Accuracy is good, but I can tell when I have shot a round I screwed up the coating on due to not getting enough bell on the case mouth. My current OAL is 1.130 (9mm 1911), but I will move that down to 1.125. I am borrowing a friend's press until I have my 650 converted over from 40 to 9mm. I'd like to work the load up and see what I can get for accuracy, but it seems like the load window is small, so I am not sure how much I will really be able to tune it. Sounds like most guys shooting the 125s are going with with 3.6 grns of Titegroup. I have 2 friends using their 147s using 3.0 grns getting 130 Pf/
  4. Yeah, seems like forever. I have a 3Gun/Steel Challenge G17 already for this, just need a sight island. seems like this would be huge for 3gunners.
  5. Hi Robin! Any updates on a sight island for 9mm yet?
  6. Any updates? I'd really like to get the 9mm version and roll out my new ballin sight tracker Steel Cahllenge/3 Gun pistol. Think there is huge potential in the 3 Gun market for this.
  7. Well it looks like the dust cover/guide rod adapters are no longer for sale. What a bummer. I was thinking about doing a project gun with similar set up, but with a G22 slide and a 40-9 conversion barrel so I could get almost a bull barrel set up.
  8. Just so I am clear. Even though it's a G22 slide, the adapter acts as a cover and the end the guide rod fits into. It is also using the G23 recoil set up? I want to do something similar to this, but off a G19 frame with a 17 slide (Prob the LWD one so I can get the front serrations and just do a ground up build off a bare frame.) thanks guys.
  9. Hi Robin? Any updates? I have a G17 ready to go, just need a sight block
  10. Any updates Robin? My Glock 17 is jet set and just needs a sight island The gun really runs, I can't wait to see what this can do for my performance.
  11. I shooting my 34s with the med back strap/beaver tail
  12. Any updates on a 9mm version Robin?
  13. Can I buy one of the 9mm prototype 9mm Glock sight blocks? Steel Challenge is Sunday, no rush. HAHA That;s for the pics and the update Robin, if you can't tell, I am pretty excited about this....
  14. any updates on some shrouds threaded for 9MM?
  15. No, sounds like competitor carelessness. And maybe some fatigue I think this was a big factor. A great guy and a very good shooter on my squad DQ'd Friday on our last stage for a 180 on a mag change while retreating. We had 10 people in our squad and it was a very long day. That being said, I enjoyed the match very much. I found the stages challenging and fun, the staff was pleasant and friendly, water was regularly offered. I think it's probably one of the best matches I have shot (not my personal shooting, but the quality of the event). I really did think we had more people in SS than what's uploaded to USPSA. I came in 4th shooting SS Minor, but practiscore shows me as 5th with 84% and USPSA shows 4th with 78%. Any way of telling what my actually score is? Not complaining, just trying to do some evaluation so I can look at where I am starting and where I think I should go in SS since I am new to this division. Thanks Ken for getting all our LE guys into a squad. We appreciate the assistance and support.
  16. I'm jumping into SS tomorrow and switched over to shooting SS at Area 4 next week. I got about a 1k through the gun this week in practice and shot 3+ Steel Challenge matches so far. Really happy and stoked about shooting SS this next year. Hopefully I can make M Class by the summer.
  17. It's official. I am diving into SS. Ken switched me to SS from Production and I will be shooting my first major with this gun at Area 4. 42.8oz with the Dawson mag! Basic SARO with: - Dawson .100 wide FO Front Sight - Smith Alexander Magwell/MSH - 8lb recoil spring - EGW Open Recoil Plug - Wilson Combat Extended Mag Release - 10-8 Performance Extended Slide Stop (38/9mm) - STI Ambi Safety - Dawson's 300109A Trigger group I have an SVI Long Flat Curved trigger for it, but I wanted to spend some time with the new trigger group and get use to it before I changed out the trigger. Pretty stoked about this. It is a excellent shooting pistol.
  18. seriously, I should upload a pic of my G17 Gen 4 tricked out and ready to go... w/ a G17L threaded barrel.... It looks ridiculous right now. SOO close to having a bad ass Glock Sight Tracker steel challenge gun too.
  19. Can you please add me to the list for SS please? Going to change divisions now that I made M in Prod
  20. Any word Robin on a 9MM? Lots of guys here locally interested in them for 3 Gun and Steel Challenge.... ESPECIALLY ME
  21. The gun runs and tracks really well. I'm pretty sure I just made M Class a week or two ago with this pistol. I was B Class about a year ago before I decided to really jump in, push myself and spend some $ on the guns and belt set up. I think I only shot 1 or 2 all classifier matches too, so most of my high classifiers were organic in nature. Both these pistols run great. I am sure TTI makes a great spring kit and connector. I spent a lot of time on my polish and most shooters are impressed with the trigger job. I think for the money this is a really strong set up. I can't say how it compares to box triggers, but the all the shooters who have shot these pistols were impressed. The recoil tweaking makes a big difference and as silly as it sounds, the base pads have made my mag changes much more consistent and smoother. BOSS hanger and DAA pouches are hands down my favorite now after trying a bunch of others. Some people like the comptac holster better than the blade tech, but I don't think my shooting would be effected as much by that as having the solid platform the BOSS hanger gives. I wish I had bought good belt gear years ago. Very glad to have stumbled into the BSPS here locally. Good luck and keep us updated. My goal this year was to make A Class and beat a friend of mine at a major match. I did not anticipate making M Class. So I am torn now between trying to push to GM in Production or switching to SS like I said I was going to in October. I think I may switch to SS to change things up ( and because I just love my 1911, even more that I have good belt gear now!) and try to push to A Class with it, then switch back to Production and try for GM while my limited gun is being built. Hard to say. I just got a job with all weekends off, so I am stoked about shooting a match every weekend instead of every other month. Here's a video a friend did on the base pads.
  22. Glock 34 Gen 4 (my gun and my wifes, or aka, backup gun...) Zev competition spring kit and Disconnector (polish job) SS Jager guide rod Zev guide rod reducer washer 11lb recoild spring TTI Sights (prob will switch to dawsons) Shockbottle Base Pads (favorite by far of the base pads - got them from the Ben Stoeger Pro Shop) 100% reliable. I run 124grn FMJ going 1030 (but I am going to be jumping up to 1040fps so I don't have a heart attack again like I did at Double Tap and have to shoot 8 rounds at the chrono stage...) ETA - am running DAA mag pouches now though
