  1. I'd also like to know the vendors going and would like to pick up some powder. Are they now having shooters on Thursday also? If so, that is awesome. Will the vendors be there Friday as well or just Sat, Sun? Wadette, you make this thing better every year.
  2. Peter Can you send it to me too. Email sent. Thanks,
  3. Pat, Does it make a difference which way the diagonal is made for the AR front sight. Either / or \. Can you get a picture? Thanks!!
  4. I was going to ask what distances are we talking about, but anything 20 yards and in, lower A. Just slow down a little and get the hits. Anything with irons beyond 20 yards might change my mind.
  5. I had a G24 that I sold, boy was that a mistake. I put a Jarvis barrel in it and it was a damn tack driver!! I should have kept that gun forever. It would group 5 shots damn near touching each other. I'd love to get another one of those. In fact, I think I will. I'll just get the slide and barrel and stick it on a 40 frame.
  6. I started using brass a few weeks ago and it has been working very well. I have cleaned about 6000 pieces of 40 brass. I used white rice from Super Walmart. 20lbs for $5 I think. I didn't use any polish and I let it run 1.5 to 2 hours. It has looked pretty clean afterward. It looks and seems OK, we'll see over time, but nice and cheap and does a good job, or so it seems.
  7. Hey Phil, what's up? I see you schmoozed your way to a Warren rear sight. A lot of people have been trying to get them and wanted to know where. This is the same Scott Warren that is HRT/FBI instructor and has shot IDPA and IPSC, right? Heard very good things about him. Heard great things about his sight. Is the rear blade serrated or plain? You going to Florida Open? If so, I'll see you there, if you're shooting on Friday, or possibly Sunday, depending on how I fare.
  8. Hey, Did some chrono'ing today. I chrono'ed the same load out of my 35 with the Glock factory barrel and the Barsto barrel. The Glock barrel has the polygonal rifling and the Barsto has standard lands and grooves. The Barsto was for a Glock 24 and was cut shorter to fit the 35. Suprised by the difference in velocity. The Glock factory barrel was consistently 22-25 fps faster than the Barsto. I'd always heard about the polygonal rifling increased pressure and velocity, and figured it did somewhat, but didn't realize it made that much of a difference. Also, I chrono'd the same load out of the 35 with the Glock factory barrel and my Sig 226ST. What a shock. The Glock barrel was 60-70 fps faster than the Sig. I know the Glock barrel is 5.3 inches and the Sig is only 4.4 or 4.5 inches, but wow, that is quite a difference. It takes at least .3 of a grain of powder, and sometimes .4 extra for the Sig to catch the same velocity as the Glock barrel.
  9. Charlie, Do you need the whole gun or just the frame? Also, what's your turn around about now. If I have it done, I want to make sure to have it back before Fl Open. Otherwise, I'll wait till after.
  10. Hey Eric, how have you been? I've been shooting the past several months and havent seen ya. Hope everything is going well and I might want to get with you to see your trigger job. Ive been looking into getting one done.
  11. So, what's the turn around on a Vanek trigger? Also, where do you get the Dale Rhea triggers?
  12. Hey Eric, Kevin Insco here. You actually like the 135's in minor? I started shooting Production about 3 months ago and have started playing w 155's compared to 180's. I really like the 155's, but want to shoot them a little more. Very nice and soft, easy to shoot. I was thinking about trying the 135's, but didn't want to try too much of a good thing. You like them though, huh?
  13. Looking for any info on loading a Production load with 155gr bullets. Anybody use Titegroup with 155's?
  14. Tell me about it. I didn't shoot a match for about 10 months, then shot Fl Open and didn't shoot again for another 7 months. If you dont use it, you will definitely lose it. Im just now starting to get back into the swing. It's taken a lot of dry/live firing to get back close. To top it off, I went from shooting my STI in Limited to shooting my Sig in Production. So this makes it even slower than it probably is. But when you start to hit the burnout phase, you have to change something.
  15. Dont ask me why, but I shoot more A's with my Sig 226 in Production than I did shooting my STI in Limited, both strong and weak hand. I think maybe I pay more attention when shooting my Sig than the STI. The STI almost seems to run by itself after a while, but the Sig seems to take more constant attention.
  16. Phil is so smooth, when he's practically done reloading is when you stop being mesmorized and realize he's doing a reload. VERY smooth. Can't emphasize that enough.
  17. Gorilla, Yeah, I dont know when, but they changed this by about 10% at least.
  18. I have a Blade Tech holster for my 226 and Kytac mag pouches. I really like the Kytac mag pouches and think they are probably the best Ive tried. I like my Blade Tech holster and when/if it wears out, I might try the Kytac holster. Heard they are very fast and easy to use and you can get a good grip out of the holster. Ive read everything about Kytac's supposed poor customer service, but I can only speak for my dealings with them and they have been very good. I have gotten responses to my emails/questions and the products in a very timely mannner. I would not hesitate to buy their products.
  19. Wadette said there were a few GM and M's that are on the waiting list and wont get to shoot it. Anybody know any big names?
  20. Hey Leo, Yes I'm shooting the Open. I got in at the last second, but I'm shooting Friday. It's the only slot that was left. I'm shooting Production.
  21. Phil, Is River Ranch still open? I thought it went into receivership a few years ago? I used to stay there when the Open first started, but a few years ago, I called they said it was bankrupt, so I went elsewhere. Didn't know it was still open. You're right, great buffet on Saturday nights as well as the saloon and rodeo. Kevin
  22. Nik was right, Todd teaches doing one thing at a time. He impressed upon me to reload (or at least start the reloading process) prior to moving or getting out of the box.
