    THE RUMOR MILL

Seriously Guys, AMMUNITION WILL BE ILLEGAL JUNE 1 2009!!
  3. This makes twice I've had first pick at someones "life stash", the other time the fella passed on, and his family called me to have a go at it. You cannot help but think about "your stash" when going through someone else's
  4. Older gentleman comes in my pharmacy, and notices the shooting trophies. He says, "Do you reload?" I say, "yep" He says, "Come by and take a look at my shop, I'm never gonna use my stuff anymore, and I need room for my gardening things" Got: 6,000 primers, 2 presses (RCBS single stages), shotshell reloader, 2 adj. powder throws, all the accessories, couple of hundred bullets (varible calibers), 4 full sets of dies, electric case trimmer, assorted gunsmithing tools, and 5 lbs different powders. "What do you want for it?" I say. "$150" what I looked like while handing him the money =
  5. Hell, I modified everything! Open sights switched to an optic w/magnifier. New gas block (thanks!) Dremeled out my brand new FN SLP's loading port, and jacked up the sights a quarter inch. Even gonna bring a pistol I haven't shot in 6 months too. (single stack just doesn't feel right for this one) And I must face it.....Changing up stuff is part of the fun of guns for me. I figure I'd rather have my equipment crap on me during a match, and not in the real world. Besides, I imagine it'll be more fun than we can shake a stick at! BTW, Don't let this guy fool ya, Something tells me he can ding targets at 500 with his aimpoint all day long
  6. I was in your boat, but only for 5 years before I made the revalation.
  7. So, the "actual" number of rifle for me (depending on the number of 500yd shots available) is likely 250-365 Sooooo.....How many 500 yarders are there???
  8. Good Shooter = good accuracy, good time, good gun handling, good gaming, good sportsmanship.
  9. Does Gordon have WINCHESTER in big red letters written down the side of his shotgun? If so, I shot a match with him one time.
  10. This is the kind of stuff you only read about. Seriously, I'm glad your OK.
  11. When I was about 12, I had a kittie named Socks. Missing for 6 MONTHS! I was outside shooting the pellet gun, and heard meow, meow, theres Socks coming home. Still hope my friend.
  12. I thought about using a double mag clamp, and then bungee a 3rd mag to my forend, so all rifle ammo will be on the rifle. Anyone see a reason not to do this?
  13. Something I hated to do, but had to. I caught the pitbull eating my 6 pound weiner dog "Rojo", who was on his run in my front yard. I have told my neighbor to keep his dogs tied/fenced about 3 times sofar, because they were getting into the garbage and eating my little dogs food. I really didn't think it would come to this, but when I caught that bitch , I put one right between her ears, then called the sheriff's department. The deputy said I had all the right, and he would've done the same thing. I told my neighbor when he got home that he owed me $150 for a new dog, and I wouldn't press any charges. My poor little boy was so heartbroken. I'm just glad he didn't get to see it. It was the most awful thing I've come across in a long time. I had just taken him out for a truck ride, and gotten him some McD's sausage for a treat. :angry2: :angry2: :angry2: Keep you Pits tied up, those dogs are just killers, nothing else. SO MAD I CAN'T SLEEP!!
  14. Nighthawk Dominator, wouldn't strip top round off of a wilson mag, nighthawk mags work flawlessly (and cheaper) 3,000 rounds, no issues, just reliable, accurate shooting.
  15. Seating station, with a bent neck desk lamp for a bright view of charge.
  16. The point of my thread was not to dis on liberty safes. I own one and am happy with it. Also, I have limited details about the actual incident. He just came in my store and was telling me about it, so I figured it may help someone out here. Out at the Lake, it may be that the fire dept. never even showed up (no one around to call) I just don't know enough about his safe/house/layout to make any assumptions about the specific incident, but the whole "Document Safe would be better" thing was what had me paying attention, and was what I wanted to share here. He did mention the numbers 3000*F for 3 hours rating for document safes, but I have not verified this.
  17. I was so freaked out by the dentist, I wouldn't breathe the nitrous. Freaked out is probably, an understatement. I was so keyed up about it, I still have mental scars from the worry. I'd mouth breathe unless they looked over at me, then I'd hold my breath, and push my gut up and down to fool them. I was so dang jumpy, the dentist made my mom give me valium, and demerol before my next appointment, as it appeared the gas had no effect on me. I still hate the dentist, but have kept very good oral hygene my entire life to minimize my exposure to this awful place called the dentist office.
  18. I'm with G-man, since I don't ever remember thinking about it I must be a feeler, #1
  19. A friend of mine recently lost his lake house in a fire. He had a Liberty Gunsafe (don't know the exact model), and it was one of the higher end models. He said that it came with a good fire rating, but couldn't remember exactly. He had to get a locksmith to basically "crack the safe" for him, so he could inspect the contents. He lost almost everything! there were about 2 long guns out of 8 that were partially salvaged (wood burned up, and blueing lost) and everything else was totaled! several handguns, longbow, compound bow, cameras, and some paperwork was all burned up. The good of it all....... The locksmith recommended a "Document Safe". I don't have any details, but my friend gave me the locksmiths # if I wanted to follow up with a better safe in the future. (We both had Liberty safes, now only me) The locksmith told him that the companies that offer these don't sell them retail, but deliver and install them like for banks & such. The price was supposedly less $ for a far better and safer safe. Although they are not as pretty as a gleaming shiny safe with a dear head or a fish on it, "pure function" was what he was telling him really mattered. (apparently it does!) I was taken in by this conversation, and thought I'd share it here. The good feeling I had about having my investments protected by a fire safe isn't that good anymore. Anyone have pearls to add, or an experience with a burned safe??? Please share, I haven't googled it yet, but I thought I'd plant the seed here first to see what we know. thanks, kyle
  20. I am really getting excited about this match. First big 3G.
  21. Yeah, as a professional....not nitrous. I agree with XRe. Freaking hialarious though
  22. I can hardly even tell now, healing nicely!
  23. Me and another guy run our club, and have Sunday matches. The only computer with the scoring software is at his store, and I am the webmaster. He scores the match while at work, and I update our webpage Mon & Tues, and I work grueling hours on those days, but am off Wed. I go to his store and post scores Wed morning. So, 3 days is my vote (cause thats what we do) BTW, before we took over the club you were lucky to even get scores, as the guy running it said when asked about posting scores, "no one looks at the internet" Anyway, it was a HUGE leap forward for our club, and I have had no complaints. In fact several compliments on our new "consistancy"
  24. It is a movie, about a cartoon, about a comic book. I think they did just fine.
