What division do you want to shoot? A 17 would be fine for production. It would be ok for limited/limited 10 but you will be shooting minor and really stacking the deck against yourself. It is a great gun to have an open gun built on. If you want to shoot limited/limited 10 a 22 or 35 would be better.
  2. Ole Smokey lives again I am working on that. I am going to try a different bullet lube.
  3. EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A couple of weeks ago we several guys decided to see how many revos they could get together for a monthly match. I heard about it and decided to see if I was ready. I had a blast. We had 9 revolvers show up by the way. I finished third. Then this past weekend my hunting plans feel through so I shot a steel challenge match and shot my best ever score. I feel right at home again.
  4. I got a little burned out on them. I shot them so hard getting ready for area 6 that I needed a change. I shot my first match June of 06, made B in ten months so after area 6 I tried lim 10/lim for 6 months.
  5. I am shooting it well and enjoying it.
  6. Dito was shooting a 7 shot 686. Thanks, that was the best total score I have ever shot. I crashed accelerator and shot smoke and hope pretty poorly.
  7. I am not totally sure about Smith scope mount holes but for rifles they are 6-48. An odd size that you will have to order from Brownells.
  8. I may take you up on that, I will let you know. I am leaning toward the standard slab sided gun. I did shoot this past Saturday, you should have been there. We had I know 7 revolvers. Nothing to brag about but I shot my best total time ever.
  9. Something I have thought about is trying a comp 1 for 44 mag to see if they could be made to work. Couldn't hurt to try. I have also thought about trying to cut down a HKS. It would involve some lathe work which I happen to have and do everyday so that helps. :-) Just some ideas to toss around
  10. Well they make the 327 that is just like the slab side also. See here.
  11. The slab side barrel or the V comp barrel? Or should I look at th 327? I will use it mostly for steel challenge. If I ever get over to the ICORE match here in Jawja it would work nice. I have also thought it would be fun to spank some production USPSA ass with a 8 shot revolver at our weekly fun shoot.
  12. They are slow. I have never tried any round nose bullets with them only truncated cone or SWC's. If you seat a long round nose bullet out as far as possible that may help some.
  13. I use mostly cast 230 truncated cone for small matches and practice. I can load them just as fast as ball 90% of the time. For a BIG matches I go to FMJ ball.

Shooters are the best folks in the world. Good things happen to good people.
  15. Sadly you can't lighten a 22 too much or you will get light strikes. The speed loader Carmoney posted the link to are the heat. I don't have a 10 shot gun so I don't have any but I have seen them and know folks that do. Other than that just shoot A LOT!
  16. You play with revolvers hard enough long enough and you will break one. Get it back to Smith they can fix you up.
  17. We had 8 or 9 revolvers show up for a monthly match at Cool Springs. Yeah there was a little bit of pre planning to do it but it worked out very nicely. I know this, a GREAT TIME was had by all of us revo shooters. Even ima45dv8 shot a sixgun with us.
  18. Jerry is one of the nicest people I have ever meet in my life. As pskys said, wired a bit different. PRACTICE! Robbie, Todd, Koenig, Sevigny,ect... Nolan Ryan in baseball Micheal Jordan in basketball, Dale Earnheart, NASCAR. God reached down and blessed some of us with special abilities and they figured it out and have taken it as far as they could. The rest of us well we get to enjoy doing what we do.
  19. Don't tell anyone he was shooting a single stack last night.
  20. The 13th there will be our weekly fun shoot at Autreys Armory in Fayettville just south of Atlanta. Look at georgiaipsc.com for info. Thats where we were last night. Larry Turner does the stages for us and always has some goodun's. If you going to be around come on out and join us.
