  1. TF lists +5 basepads. Is that 15+5? Then some people are able to get 22 in? What springs and followers?
  2. So here is my plan for a glock build: G35 used or new KKM barrel to avoid bulge issues Glockworx drop in trigger/striker set with 2# connector SJC magwell Dawson sight I haven't figured out mag components yet, not sure what combo will get 20+1, sounds like Arredondo(?) bases on the 15rd mags. I figure I need 3 maybe 4 total mags, all with some type of basepad to handle reloads in with the magwell. I figure all of that runs about $1000-1100. Then just to figure out reloading .40, (currently only reload .45 for my ss 1911). Sound about right?
  3. I guess the question I haven't had answered yet is whether the round count of a used glock matters? Is there going to be any issue with slide or frame wear? I'm less worried about the barrel since I would likely replace it anyway. I figure most used glock have 200-5k rounds through them, but there is the chance of a 50k+ well used competition gun making it onto the market.
  4. Both limited and 3-gun. I thought of it after someone suggested I move to higher capacity mags on the thread about your shell caddies. My belt has such limited real estate that I can't really shoot 3 gun unless I go with a vest over belt mounts.
  5. Used to be that even a disliked president received the respect that the office entails.
  6. The good side is that I could get the glock, barrel, complete drop in trigger, connector, magwell, sights, holster, mags, mag holders, and caliber conversion for my Dillon 650 for the price of just a stock STI Eagle. I really want an STI, but I'm thinking it would be smarter to buy something less expensive and shoot Limited sooner. I also need more room on my 34" belt, as my 6 single stack mag holders don't leave any room for shotgun shell caddies, much less rifle caddies.
  7. I'm toying with the idea of getting a G35 for Limited, as I could likely have it a year sooner than I could afford an STI. I've seen a used one listed for $499. What constitutes a good deal on a G35? If I'm going to replace the barrel with a drop-in match KKM anyway, is there any concern for the actual round count through a used glock?
  8. Will this holster work for a G35? Are the magnets helpful at all with glocks through the synthetic frame?
  9. Nice. The more coverage we get, the more sponsors and 3-gun friendly gear, and more new shooters. We only benefit from good air time.
  10. My first weekend in college, met a girl at a party that stood there long enough to strike up a conversation. We chatted and danced all night. That was almost 13 years ago now, been married for 5 years.
  11. Furthermore, don't take any side trips. You need to be going to or from the event. If you decide to go 20min off to go to a mall or visit aunt Edna, you put yourself in jeopardy. Make sure you don't have any NRA or shooting stickers on your vehicle either, as it just makes you a target for closer scrutiny in anti-gun states.
  12. Don't forget a *thumb rest [generic]* if so inclined. If you add the blank comp with a sight, you get to weld the old slide dovetail and then re-surface. If you go with a bull barrel, you can cut flutes in it unless you want all that weight. Edit: I just noticed the forum automatically replaces Ga$-Pedal with *thumb rest [generic]*... interesting.
  13. C-runs calls them carriers for all the brands. Since he welds them all, I'll call them what he calls them.
  14. I think he is making a distinction between actual muzzle rise and apparent rise in the sights. Because the sight remains at the end of the barrel it will go up more than the sight attached to the slide. As the barrel rises on the non-ST, the sight is moving back with the slide. With an equally weighted slide and equal weight distribution, the non-ST and the ST should have the same muzzle rise. It's just a question of where the sight is throughout the the follow through.
  15. Oh, sorry, missed it. Thanks! Looks great! How long for you to get comfortable at it? Do you feel like its reliable enough to do in competition?
  16. Anyone got video at speed from the FSL? I'm still pinching pennies save up, but I think I will go with the FSL 12.
  17. Glad you had some resolution after a rough few hours. Maybe they'll get the message. Either way your butt's covered on the record and they get a penalty next time.
  18. I'm a fan of the Boonie or large rimmed straw golf hats. They aren't tactical fashion statements, but they keep the sun off. I'm all about preserving the pastiness that has taken years of sun avoidance to cultivate.
  19. You're a nice guy then. Only thing that would be holding me back is that it's not the dog's fault, and you can't leave out antifreeze for the owners to drink. Ear plugs help. A sound machine or similar app for your phone works great if you're just trying to sleep.
  20. Friends with the local sheriff's deputy?
  21. A 1lb of raw hamburger and peanut butter doesn't hurt the situation either.
  22. Sounds like they are being pre-emptive to deal with all the scoundrels that strip houses of their copper pipe and wiring or other nefarious activities.
  23. The ones that only come here to pimp their brass. I've never minded so long as I get a good deal. If they're not contributing elsewhere its their loss, since this forum is pretty much the best thing going for shooting on the internet. I do like the idea of having a sub forum for brass to keep the rest uncluttered. Have we considered separate subforums for hand guns, rifles, shotguns, reloading equipment? Just an idea to organize the classifieds and make it easier to find what you want. Even sub forums by brand for the CZ, Glock, and S_I fans?
  24. I shot 50 shells on trap with good results, 9 slugs and 9 buck. It's hard to say with the POI on slugs, should have shot from a rest, but it seems to shoot 4-6" high on slugs at 25 yards. Not a single glitch or hiccup, but I'd already cleaned the grease out before running it the first time. So far I'm super pleased and love it. I'll likely get the lifter welded as the only major modification I do.
