  1. No offense man (your gun looks great) but theres no way I’m cerakoting the entire slide of anything but maybe a Glock no one cares about. I’m interested to see what yours looks like after a year or so with 5-10,000 draws from a holster. I also don’t understand how you think cerakoting the slide is the only way to make it match perfectly… it matched perfectly from the factory. SBGW did my milling, didn’t cerakote anything, turn around was 3 weeks, I didn’t have to send them my SRO and it also stayed in place while held upside down with no screws. It was also only $135 bucks.
  2. Hah i agree! I think it’s a pretty affordable option compared to the 2011’s and so many people shooting shadow 2’s it’s a pretty easy transition to make.
  3. The 10moa FTP was amazing to me, it wont fit my slide cut though. My goal is to have a dot that’s easy to pick up when dim enough to easily stay target focused. I have 3 5 moa SRO’s now that all work fine. The green 507 comp is definitely interesting to me…
  4. Just heard back and they are not currently working on any aftermarket safety options for the DWX
  5. It’s all relative! I shoot a couple thousand rounds a month on average also. After competitive mountain bike racing guns are cheap! The DWX is the most expensive gun I have ever owned though.
  6. The only reason i could see changing the guide rod is to have access to standard 1911 recoil springs. There’s nothing wrong withe the stock gun but it depends on your use. If you want it for competition it could be better. The 4lb stock trigger could be lighter, and it “needs” a magwell to take advantage of Limited Optics. Grips- my hands sweat a ton so it’s either lots of liquid chalk or something more aggressive. I also don’t believe $2100 plus a few hundred in changes is “a lot” when you have Atlas charging $6,000.
  7. I’m at 3500ish with a 9lb spring and thin buffer. No issues yet with an SRO.
  8. That’s a bummer. I’m guessing the odds of anyone making an aftermarket option to be slim to nil.
  9. Looks like a standard 1911/2011 safety to me. I’m out of town for a couple weeks but I have a buddy who is going to test fit a large shielded Atlas safety for me.
  10. Long’s Shadow Huron with Henning T-1000 hanger came today. Very impressed!
  11. First time drawing the DWX from a holster and ran into a grip issue coming from my Shadow 2 to the DWX. I hold the gun so high and the safety is so small on the DWX when the slide cycles it rides the top of my firing hand thumb. I’m thinking about trying a larger safety or do I have to modify my firing hand thumb to be more on top of my support hand? I’d rather not change my grip if a bigger safety will work. I have pretty big hands. No experience with 1911’s…. It seems like a larger 1911 safety would work on the dwx?
  12. Old thread! I found another pin match that allows optics. Pins are set in the middle of a 30” table. My uspsa 9mm (132ish PF) ammo works great. Only issues ive had is when i had some 96pf steel challenge ammo and it would knock them over but not off the table.
  13. Nuke L10, production to 15 round, and LO minor only. Let .40 die.
  14. Sounds good definitely let us know!
  15. The Hydra +p works well enough for the DWX but not so well that I would want to use it full time. It's a little sticky at the trigger guard... I'm sure you could modify it if you were inclined. I just ordered an RHT and then cancelled after reading some reviews here. I ended up placing an order for a Long's Shadow Huron with the T-1000 Henning hanger. He said it would ship by the end of the week. Edit: Just saw you said "race"... Disregard.
  16. Yes by original i meant the non-magwell +4/5 extensions he is currently selling. I don’t have any magazines with stock base pads to check. The Floyds is really nice though. Don’t take my word for it though, call Henning Group and ask them, that’s where I got my info from
  17. Post your times! A little over 90 minutes yesterday for my initial certification and my head still hurts. Ended up with a 93%. Taking that test again in a year might be too soon…. Who’s got the speed record?!
  18. On a shadow 2, once you know how it goes in it's less than 5 minutes. Remove the slide, slide the sear spring out of the notch in the safety, push safety out, reinstall new one (left side only for right handed shooters). Put the slide back on...
  19. Shot my DWX against a stock Staccato P today and it made me like the DWX that much better. Flat trigger, trigger (EGW kit) was way lighter, and the reset was shorter. The staccato still felt a little top heavy to me also. Both guns were pretty new. My DWX has about 400 and the P had less than 1000.
  20. Full size short, i assume the compact is different or it wouldnt be labeled as such?
  21. Patriot defense aggressive grips trimmed for a Floyd Custom (TS) magwell. Alignment is perfect. Works great with both Henning extensions and +2 factory extensions. With MBX springs/followers I easily get 24 reloadable with Henning and 23 reloadable with the factory +2’s. Does not work with factory DWX base pads. Also had the barrel reamed for my reloads- RMR 124 MW’s at 1.10. EGW ignition kit with 19lb spring and lightened hammer for a 2lb trigger pull. 11lb glock recoil spring. Waiting on a short trigger from DW to experiment with. Slide was milled by Stonebridge gunworks. My plan is to start shooting LO with it this fall after I hopefully make Master in CO. Anyone have an opinion on competition holsters? I was looking at GX but the wait is crazy… Anything better than RHT?
