  1. Just to close the loop on this the CGW reduced power trigger reset spring was too weak, replaced it from one off ben stoeger's store and it now functions perfectly.
  2. Looking for instructor recommendations in the Denver/Golden area. Focus on USPSA competition.
  3. New here, and new to competition shooting. I've been doing a lot of range work lately as well as dry firing. Figured the mantis system would be a good way to see actual improvement. I've been using it dry firing the last two days and finally went to the range with it this afternoon. I was able to discern a noticeable difference between an 11lb and 10lb recoil spring in my shadow 2. With the 11lb spring my muzzle rise hovered right around 10 degrees. When I swapped to the 10 I averaged 7 with the lowest being 5.74. This is shooting 125pf 9mm. The problem is I don't know what's "good" and the app doesn't really tell you. I figured a place here to compare notes in different parameters would be beneficial to all, maybe a mod could even sticky it? That is if there's a decent user base of the Mantis system here. Post up your stats if you have it. I'll start. This is the recoilmeter function, and my lowest muzzle rise. Ignore the recoil angle as it was the last shot in a string.
  4. Still having the same issue. It's at the gunsmith now.
  5. I had not touched it previously. I checked the trigger bar spring as recommended in the tutorial on CGW's website and when pulled out from underneath the trigger bar it rested just a hair above the trigger bar. CGW recommended it resting at the top of the trigger bar. I bent both sides up slightly. I'll know in about an hour if that fixed the issue. I guess I don't understand why it operates correctly 100% of the time when dry firing but not when using live ammunition. It leads me to think something is expanding while heating up and causing an issue. I'm contemplating just going back to the stock trigger if it still doesn't work, although I REALLY like the feel of the flat trigger. I'm now reconsidering if I should even install the race hammer and disconnect. I really don't want to deal with the hassle of sending it to CGW.
  6. Thanks, that makes total sense and what it seemed like. I thought I installed the screws backwards initially with the longer one at the top. For now it's removed and they recommended checking the trigger bar spring and tweaking it up a little if necessary. If that doesn't work I'm taking it to the gun smith for the disconnect and hammer anyways.

    TS2 Orange

I don't disagree but I spoke with the acquisitions people at both shops. I think it was more a lack of someone willing to do their job. I ended up ordering another shadow 2 orange instead
  8. CGW told me you cannot use the top screw without their disconnect
  9. Heads up on this. I might have missed it but you are not to use the top set screw in the trigger if you aren't using the disconnect. Also the trigger bar spring can be adjusted

    TS2 Orange

Two crown dealers in my area. Neither are able to order.
  11. Previous list of mods includes: 11.5lb hammer spring 11lb recoil spring reduced power plunger spring/extended firing pin reduced power trigger return spring The above has about 1000 rounds on it without a single issue. I installed the new trigger and initially had a problem setting the top set screw the adjusts the double action reset. I made sure I used the correct (shorter) set screw but felt like the window for "adjusted correctly" was extremely small. Too far in and it would lock the trigger back, too far out and it wouldn't reliably reset. The window feels like 1/8 of a turn on an Allen key. I took everything apart and reinstalled it all and got it to function check reliably. Went to the range today and was still having trigger reset issues. I ended up breaking the red loctite and completely removing that top set screw to see if that fixed the problem. It didn't. After the DA shot the trigger would only reset maybe 60% of the time. If I push the trigger forward it will reset. It almost feels like the trigger is binding on something, there's too much friction somewhere, or the reduced power trigger return spring is too soft. Has anyone had this problem before? Any ideas? I'm taking it in to the gunsmith next week to have them hard fit a CGW hammer and also do the disconnect but I was hoping to have it working reliably before then to save some money.
  12. Thanks that was the exact info I was looking for. I plan on shooting the stock S2O before ordering anything to compare it with my current model
  13. Right now I have a shadow 2 optic ready model that I've installed some CGW mods to. I just ordered a Shadow 2 Orange and I'm debating what to do with it. It will be used for bowling pin matches and maybe steel challenge. In my optic ready model I've installed the extended firing pin and spring, 11.5lb hammer spring, 11lb recoil spring, upgraded trigger pin w/reduced weight trigger spring, and flat DA/SA trigger. I have the short reset disconnector but I'm a little intimidated by the install. I can do the same mods to the orange that I've done now for $120 or do the full pro-kit for more than double that to get the hammer and disco. Is it really worth it?
  14. I've completed the 75 Hard program and I'm now working through the phases. Currently in phase 2. Basically two 45 minute workouts a day, a diet, and a gallon of water with no days off for 30 day cycles. Last time I weighed in I was 6' 184lb and 9% body fat in a Bodpod. I've put a little back on between phase 1 and 2 but I expect to be 180 and under 10% by spring.
  15. Heard back from one of the local dealers who said he spoke to their CZ rep. Supposedly the rep said they are backordered and plan on it being a significant wait. Guess I can try to find one online.

    TS2 Orange

Any update on this? I called today and the guy told me "I have no idea". I called two area dealers and both said they weren't available from the distributor.
  17. I'd say mostly 9mm from what I saw and a few 45's. Everything I read talked about how poorly 9mm does on pins but that didn't seem to be the case. Every pin I hit (9mm) went off the table. I was using a P01 Omega which was fun but not ideal. If I'm going to buy a dedicated gun for it, it seems like .40 might be more ideal? Ammo is $20 more for 1k rounds than I pay for 9mm right now and it would allow me to shoot it in steel challenge as well as limited if I wanted. My bigger concern is not getting used to the DA/SA on the shadow 2 if I also have a TS2. I don't think it makes sense to get a TS2 in 9mm, but maybe a second Shadow 2 would make sense? I have about $1600 to spend and it really isn't costing me anything as I'm selling a few other guns I don't shoot.
  18. They're listed on the CZ-USA website. It's weird they weren't able to help me place an order or tell me which distributor was getting them.
  19. I really wish the DWX was released in .40.... It would make it a much more difficult choice. Otherwise I vote TS2O
  20. I just called CZ and also got, "we have no idea". When asked if they could help me locate one or give me a heads up on when they might be available. He wasn't even aware of how many CZ-USA got. Wonder if it will be a few weeks or a few months kind of wait.
  21. I've called every CZ dealer within 100 miles of Denver, Colorado and I haven't talked to a single one that says that even their distributor has a SKU for them yet.
  22. Thanks. Looking at my schedule it looks like I'll be able to make significantly more bowling pin shoots compared to USPSA matches where my primary focus will be CO. The new TS2 Orange has peaked my interest but finding a dealer willing to order one seems to be another story.
  23. Is your limited gun another Shadow 2 or a TS2? I'm entertaining the idea of a second CZ for limited or production. Most people around here shoot limited or CO so I'm leaning towards the TS2 but a little worried about transitioning between the two guns. Fondled a TS2 today and it felt really nice....
