  1. Yea I don't believe this at all. I've never felt a tuned Stryker fire trigger that even compares to my cajunized shadow 2.
  2. I'd love to hear your reasoning behind this. Grip building is completely different IMO, as is recoil management. Local matches here the only time you see any one handed shooting is in a classifier. The biggest issue I see is people not being able to find the dot. Figure out a system to find the dot 100% of the time- look down the top of the slide, find the front sight post if you have one, align the planes on the optic with each other, etc. I'll generally reconfirm I can do this in dry fire before the match, or if I don't know what the classifier is until I show up I'll confirm I can find the dot while under make ready. The next biggest issue I see is people canting the gun left or right. For example if you cant the gun to the left as a right handed shooter and you transition to the right you're fighting recoil on your transitions so keep the gun vertical.
  3. After playing with a buddies 507 comp in green over the weekend I want one. The 8 MOA ring by itself is much more crisp to my eyes than the 5 MOA dot on my SRO. Now only to find one...
  4. good to hear! I’m hoping to have my slide this week. I’m contemplating returning my SRO for a new 507 comp after seeing one in person. I really liked the Green 8 moa ring with no dot. I have an 11lb recoil spring I’m going to try with mine before buying the tungsten guide rod. I’ll hopefully be shooting 124’s right around 130 if it chronos the same as my shadow.
  5. Whats worked for me is torquing my support hand thumb forward and really pushing the meat of my thumb into the grip. Even though I wear XL gloves I went to thin LOK grips with a 36 grit silicone carbide coating. I can grip significantly harder than with palm swells.
  6. Trimmed the grips down with a Dremel. These are the aggressive Patriot Defense thin's. So far they're the closest thing I've found to 36 grit silicone carbide.
  7. Sounds good! I’m thinking about picking that one up to use 1911 springs too.
  8. i just put a floyds custom magwell on mine and fitment is very good. Once i cut my grips I’ll post a photo. What are your thoughts on the tungsten guide rod?
  9. 3.2 grains of sport pistol and and jacketed 124's cycles fine in my CZ's, shoots a <1" group at 20 yards and makes a 96 power factor. I use it for bowling pins.
  10. I would go direct mount. I have two shadow 2’s- one with a plate system, one direct mill. I greatly prefer the lower mount of the direct mill.
  11. Check 22-04, i shot a 78 on it recently. Open center target/head box, reload and two partial’s.
  12. I’m going to run a little bit of a hodgepodge in spirit of the DWX. Most likely those patriot defense grips that I posted cut down to fit the floyds magwell and henning basepads with 24+1 mbx spring/follower. The backup grip would be thin LOK’s with a silicone carbide treatment.
  13. Thanks. I ordered a couple and will post up when I get them and can test.
  14. Any chance you know if the original Henning extensions work? I know on the Shadow 2 the original hennings work with both the floyds and armory craft magwells but I’m unsure about the DWX/TS
  15. For now... There's a lot of people with limited guns in .40 pissed that there is no major scoring. I could see them adding major/minor scoring to LO next year when it's no longer provisional. Which also makes me not want to spend any amount of real money on a LO gun even though I have a DWX. If LO stays minor I will likely make the switch next year. If they add Major scoring I will stick to CO or at least not use a dedicated LO gun for competing in LO.
  16. You have to set boundaries. I’m new to USPSA and competition shooting sports in general- shot my first match in February of this year. I usually run the pad, and just recently started taking the timer. I’m giving up shooting two matches I normally attend next month to take the RO class. I’m taking it with another guy in his mid 20’s. Around here I feel like we have an equal part mix of “I’m too old to do anything that helps out”, and “I’m too new I don’t know what I’m doing (and I’m also not willing to try)”. We need an influx of new blood. Same thing with setup and tear down. My personal boundaries are I will help out the match in anyway I can- timing, taping, scoring, and I will either help set up or help tear down. I don’t take any discounts. I try to force newer people into scoring because 1) the “new” excuse usually doesn’t work when I’m “more new” than them, and 2) it’s a way to learn everyones name.
  17. Looks like a floyds but i cant tell if its the shadow 2 or TS version
  18. There is, it's only 2 MOA though. I'm hoping they come out with a green 407 Comp with a 6 MOA reticle and I'll consider switching from my SRO's.
