Finally read the FAQs

Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. If this show hopes to keep some semblance of being a competition next season, the producers need to come up with another way to determine who goes to the elimination challenge. For a group of people to decide how they were going to vote before a competion even starts and in spite of how the competion goes makes a mockery of the whole thing. Just leaves a very bad taste watching supposed adults conspire to get rid of a person who seems to be a decent guy. That all said, glad how it ended and now in the Jamie camp to win it all. He faced incredible pressure and did what he had to do.
  2. Valdada also has a one piece rail mount sized for a 35 mm tube: Specs are here: IOR Valdada 35mm rail mount. To JJ's point above, the FOV is 89 feet at 100 yards at 1.5.
  3. Heres a table we have on our web site for the NC tube lengths: # of Extra Shells Tube Length Overall Length Installed Recommended Barrel Length +2 6.250 15.375 18.5 +3 8.622 17.747 18.5 +4 10.393 19.518 18.5 / 21 +5 11.929 21.054 18.5 / 21 +6 14.370 23.495 21 / 24 +7 17.598 26.723 24 / 28 +8 20.196 29.321 28 If the formating does not disaply the table right, here is a link to the table's product page: NC extension tube length
  4. Yeah, there was numerous ACR's on display with the product sheets showing the prices above. No explanation on why the price has increased so dramatically. A darn shame, they would have sold without pause at the 1400-1600 price originally mentioned. Now, I imagine they wil sell, but who knows how many? You're really goig to have to want one at that price. Availability timeframe is now predicted to be March.
  5. Looks like they are referring to the BAD Lever from the description in the article and not to the quick change capability of the ACR. If something else holds up the ACR, you have to wonder. But, Cerebus has deep pockets, so this could be a ploy for licensing fees.
  6. I think I've used the slide out kewyboard maybe twice since I got the phone. I'm not a texter. Too bad they don't offer a version without the keyboard since the keyboard is what gives the phone it's boxy shape. All in all, I am pretty happy with it, although we need to see more apps. A matter of time probably.
  7. The clamp will 'work', as will the similiar one made by Tac Star. One piece of advice, when the clamp begins to slide up and down the barrel / tube under recoil, use a piece of black electricians tape or gaffers tape to stop it. Wrap the magazine tube once or twice with the tape and then tighten the clamp back down. It will stop most of the sliding for a while. Repeat as necessary.
  8. Not if you loosen the mag tube 1/4 turn before installing the clamp... jj edit; and yes, you do need a clamp with extended mags...JMHO That is interesting...... lets the lower tube move a smidgen and not put any kind of torque on the barrel? Merlin, as JJ said, always leave the mag tube slightly loose when tightening the clamp down. I learned this the hard way years ago. The barrel would flex slightly towards the clamp and affect the point of aim. On whether a clamp is needed or not, we always ask if the gun is actually going to be used or sit in the closet as a home defense gun. If you are going to use it, there is always the chance that you will bump into something during a stage or a hunt. Why take the chance of snapping off the tube while doing so? Seen it happen several times during expensive matches. A clamp is a cheap investment.
  9. On Christmas Day, some dirt bag snatched a 5 yr old girl from an apartment complex common area in north Phoenix and took off with her in his pickup truck. Happened about 2 pm or so. Apparently witnesses were able to get a decent description of him, the truck, license number, etc for a decent BOLO to be sent out. An amber alert was broadcast, it was all over the news all afternoon. About 10 pm, a police officer on patrol spotted what seemed to be a possible match for the truck and occupants driving about 2 miles from the apartment and tried to pull the guy over. The truck took off and long story short, through using stop sticks, they were able to get the guy after a brief chase. The little girl was in the truck and apparently unharmed although no one is saying what happened to her during the kidnapping. The officers name was broadcast and I believe he is someone who stops in the store to pick up parts from time to time. I can't wait to shake his hand the next time I see him. When we first heard this, immediately everyone feared the worst and it apparently turned out about as well as it could of. The police department here in Phoenix take their share of heat, some deserved, most not, I hope that they get a large dose of praise from the public and the press on this one. They deserve it.
  10. Valdada's version of your basic 1 power red dot scope. These were brought out around the time of the NRA show in May and are becoming quite popular. A heavy duty tactical ring is included in the price, if you want a QD style ring, typically $40 more.
  11. Programs like what you describe have normally been "installed" as a legitimate program and will keep "lurking" in the background and re-downloading and installing until they are uninstalled in the Add and remove programs list, you disable them in the MSCONFIG, and you disable the service that they have installed. Basically, for things like that, if someone clicks on a link that says "Yes I want to download and install this program I know nothing about from a company I know nothing about" and runs it... all bets are off... You can have the best Anti-virus and anti-spyware programs in the world running, but if the human factor ignores common sense and does it anyway...nothing can stop people from being Dumb.... Yeah,I believe that is what happened. She got a popup stating that the PC was 'infected' and needed a scan to run to clean it. IIRC, this was a variant of the Vundo virus, it loaded at least 20 different viruses, etc to the pc almost immediately, turned off Mcafee, shut off Windows Restore, etc. It took me about 2 weeks to get the pc back to where it needed to be. All the crap that was loaded, Mcafee never hiccupped at any of them as they were loaded since it was turned off. As I said, it took a combination of a bunch of different utilities to get rid of all of the traces. BTW, the receptionist no longer works here, this was just one of the things she managed to foul up.
  12. We went through a bad virus / malware issue a few months ago on one of the store pc's ( receptionist playing on the net). Mcafee was installed on the pc and it never even noticed the virus / malware coming in. This was an evil bastard, it would go out and install other viruses so by the time I was told about the problem, the pc had over 20 different viruses . malware on it. We used Malware Antibytes, Spy Bot, Adaware Macfee repeatedly until they all could not find 'things' left on the pc. But, upon re-booting, the virus would start back up, so something was still lurking around. On the advice of a friend, we tried SpyHunter's free version. It found the last few files that somehow managed to not get found by the others. The catch is you have to buy a copy for it to remove what it finds. I did buy it and it managed to work. So, it would not hurt to download a copy of Spy Hunter by Enigma Software and give that a try. No one virus scanner seems to find everything, when we get hit, I try everything I can think of until the virus is gone. Some tools seem to find different things, so it does not hurt to run as many different tools as you can.
  13. Arrivng on Monday, leaving on Thursday. Not nice of them to hold all 4 days during the business week. On the plus side, got a great deal at the Palazzo.
  14. No, it does not include the radius of the scope tube. How we define the different products in the Valdada ring line is by the amount of height provided on the different ring sets. Probably easier just to use a pic than try to describe it. In the picture below that I grabbed from another product line ( not Valdada), the distance referenced earlier is tge distance labeled 3/8 inch in the pic. regards
  15. There is no 'ideal', one size fits all ring height. It depends upon your body characteristics and where your ideal check weld is. The medium rings give you 1/2 inch of lift, the high gives you 3/4 inch. You want to line the scope up with your eye when your postion is comfortable. How high that needs to be is dependent upon how long your neck is, where your cheek weld is, etc. Different for everyone, that is why different options are needed: ring hwights, riser blocks, etc. So, best way to figure this out is to determine how much height your current setup uses: top of receiver to center line of scope ( where you are comfortable when looking thru the scope, dont see black along the edges, etc). Once you have the height figure, we can work backwards from that and determine the correct V Tac items that would approximate what you have now. We can continue in the private message thread that you started or you can contact Valentin and talk to him, either will work, but you do need to know the height lift of what you have now and like. regards
