Help design the ultimate practical 2-gun sport
iamspartacus replied to Maxamundo's topic in USPSA/IPSC Shooting
I like where you are headed with this. I would shoot the factory division for sure. I’m for the option of 15 round pistols and 30 round rifles with a 1x optic. If you made it flash hiders only I wouldn’t shoot this division. -

If you’re going to limit the long range to 200 yards you’ll also want indicate a minimum target size or someone will set up 1inch steel targets at 200 yards. -
3-Gun Recession?
iamspartacus replied to Blockader's topic in Multi-gun Rules / Stage Design / Match Administration
We have 4 bays and a rifle area that goes out to 220 yards. In the bays most of the stages are similar to USPSA stages in their set up. I usually have 3 of the stages use 2 guns and one of them require all 3. The long range stage usually involves rifle and shotgun. I try to set up the stages so they all have a winning time around 30 seconds. Making sure reset doesn’t take too long is also key to good flow. Not having more than 12 people per squad also helps. -
3-Gun Recession?
iamspartacus replied to Blockader's topic in Multi-gun Rules / Stage Design / Match Administration
I’ve been the match director for a monthly 3 gun match for 5 years, I’ve done 5 stages at every match and we’ve never taken more than 5 hours to shoot the match. If the matches are taking longer than that it’s a failure on the part of the MD to design the match to flow. -
Mine arrived yesterday.

red dot on shotgun??
iamspartacus replied to usmc1974's topic in Multi-gun Rules / Stage Design / Match Administration
Whoever wrote your stealth rules didn't pay attention to the original rules very well. Rifle is supposed to be basically an open rifle and if you have a bipod it stays on the gun. Shotgun is allowed to have a dot and tube length is restricted. For pistol 140mm mags with iron sights and standard mags for a slide ride dot. -
Does anyone know who the MD is this year?

Tennessee will be home to a 15 match series of multigun matches going from March to September, culminating in a points champion, prize table, and shoot off. The matches will be held at Middle TN Shooters Club, Oak Ridge Sportsman's Association, Dead Zero Shooting Center, Tac 2 in Greenville, and Southern Action shooters in Cleveland. More info can be found at http://www.tennesseemultigun.com I can also answer questions here.

The problem of too many divisions could be handled with a little consolidation of divisions. Do away with 2x4 tac as it wasn't really a smart decision to add that any way. Combine 2x4 open and open into one division, just call it open. Do away with limited and make 2 gun a 1x optic division. Then you are left with tac optics, heavy, open, pcc, and 2 gun. Im even ok with doing away with pcc in UML and only having it in UPL matches.

Mag fed pumps in tac ops

I'd be ok with it if they were limited to 5 round mags. Good luck carrying enough shells for a fifty round all shotgun stage. -
Middle Tennessee Shooters Club in Manchester will be hosting a United Multigun League match on Sunday September 2nd. The UML ruleset can be found here http://unitedmultigunleague.com/uml-rules/ The following divisions will be recognized, tac optics, tac irons, heavy tac, open, 2x4 tactical, 2x4 open, pcc, 2gun (rifle/pistol) plus our traditional Heavy Metal division. With all the options available to the shooters it is difficult to give an exact round count but if you're shooting one of the 3 gun divisions 100 for each gun should be enough. For 2 gun bring 150 for each and pcc should bring 250 to 300. We will be shooting 5 stages, longest shot will be around 200 yards. No slings necessary. There will be a link posted for early sign up on practiscore or sign up at the match. Registration will be from 1100 to noon and we'll get started promptly thereafter. Match fee is $25 for non members of the range and $20 for members. If this will be your first time shooting a match please arrive early for a new shooters orientation. I can be reached here or at sumocrp@aol.com with any questions.

Silly. When you have some more free time there is this really cool thing called the wheel that you can try to reinvent.
