With CO going 140mm mags, what parts { tube , follower, spring and base pad } get you the highest capacity reliable mag? And second what would be the components for a MecGar 17 round AFC tube? These would be for a SP01 Shadow.

Probably because you can get in it for under a grand.  And use a dot for people with less than great vision.

For what it's worth, I can get 21 in my SP-01 mag with TTI extension and +10% spring.  I *think* I could get 22 in with the stock spring, but opted for a stronger spring.  I have the factory follower, so the Grams kit might add another round.

Is that with the factory 18/19 round tube?

If so do you have any experience with MecGar's 17 AFC?

CZC makes two 140mm base pads, a long one for standard length mags like your MecGars and a short one for the 18 round long tubes.

CZ 18 rnd ( SP01) magazine #11152 with short pad #10187

CZ P09 19rnd magazine #11620 with extended pad #1001097

with spring and follower kit #10522

so the short one on the stock 18rnd sp01 mag will leave a gap between the base pad and the grip right? since the stock plastic 18rnd base pad extends upward on the mag.

yes..16rnd with long will stop on bottom of frame.

Pistol with optic ( this is heavy, since not milled and rear sight still in gun.) with long pad. is 43.5 ounces

and with short pad 43 ounces

long pad

short pad and you can see how the SP01 18rnd mag extends out the frame.

I got a Springer extension for the 17rnd nickel plated mecgar mag. Some numbers:

stock sp01 18rnd mag 3.0 oz /86 grams

mecgar mag weight: 3.2 oz/ 92grams

mag with regular Springer base pad: 4.1oz/ 117 grams.

mag with extension: 4.5 oz/ 127 grams

mecgar capacity and regular base pad: 17

extension pad, +10% spring, stock blue follower: 20 on my first attempt

I gained +4 rounds on a 17rnd mecgar mag. Shot it all afternoon and worked great. Reloaded, empty start, slide lock, etc. With the stock follower.

The CZC goes on the 18rnd mag, so you're ahead one there. Add the follower and I'm not surprised they could get +5 for a total of 23.

So if I plus one at the start, I'm starting with 22. Just like in my TacSport. Same mag I tested for CO works great in my Prod AccuShadow, so I might goof off and shoot Lim minor here and there too.

We'll see if the ability to have 23/4 at the start really makes a difference over 21/22.......
