Looking for race holster recommendations for the 9mm gold team. I have been running a DAA X and have not had stellar results. Though constructed well, I seem to get alot of binding no matter how I have adjusted it. Hoping others can share their experiences and suggestions. I may go a different holster direction if things don't work out. Thanks AP

I have a 38 super Witness Gold Team - I'm looking for a 9mm hybrid barrel to make it a 9mm open gun. It does not appear that EAA carries these... does anyone know a source for a 9mm open barrel (even just the comp is fine... the hybrid seems a bit 'over' compensated) for the Witness Gold Team? Thanks!

I need a little help. I want to try the open division but I am torn. I have 4 Tanfoglios for limited and IDPA but I want to play in open. I would like to stay with Tanfoglio but I have been reading that making 9mm major is hit or miss. Seeing that I might buy a Trubor or the new STI DVC but I would like to stay with what I know. Has anyone been able to make 9 major safely and if so, how has the Gold Team been holding up. Also, what is the mag situation for the Gold Team; does anyone sell big sticks. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

ok guys got a question I'm hoping someone can answer. How on earth do you keep the checking clean on the front and backstrap of your hard chrome, competition framed tanfoglio? I had this problem with my stock II. it was in a safe for a while (put away after being shot) and came out with bronzey/blackey looking rust stuff in parts of the checkering and little spots of pitting up under the beavertail. My new eric custom also has a small amount in the checkering and just below the backstrap checkering is the pitting marks again. Looking at others tanfoglios and they all have it except one guy. All those guys say it can't be cleaned. The one guy who's is clean tells me he chucks it in a ultrasonic cleaner every 6 months after stripping to a bare frame. I'd like to avoid that route. Someone suggested using a tooth brush and degreaser... didn't really work. I also tried brake cleaner and toothbrush.. didn't really work. I don't want to scratch off the chrome but it seems like something more drastic may be the only option. Another guy suggested regular white toothpaste and toothbrush (haven't tried that yet). So who has had this crap appear on your tanfoglio and then successfully fought it back? how did you do it?
