NRA wants to Sanction Multi-gun

Well...first I didn't think you were that old. :D

Second, I'd say you wouldn't have much of a legal leg to stand on, since you don not have a right to compete and that's the basis of your argument. If it's owning a particular rifle that is deemed an assault weapon, then I'd say (purely Devil's Advocate) that you made the decision to move and sell that rifle (that I'm guessing you did the secondary Assault Weapon registration on).

I'm 43! I sold it here in FL and got a brand new Armalite SPR  No paperwork necessary...

I was born and grew up in CA, spent my first 40 years there. I've lived in FL now for 3 years. So what if someday I want to move back there?

Move back! :surprise:

A.T.

Well, my parents own some property there (Northern San Diego County) and are in their mid eighties, so someday I will have to make a decision- and selling family property because the Socialists have taken over where I was born and grew up is not my first choice...

#1 sell land in Kali.

#2 take $ from Kali land sale, go to Texas and but 4 times as much land out of city limits.

#3 shoot what ever you want on your own property.

What happened to Larry Houck???

He's moving to NM.

I'm not sure what that has to do with him leaving NRA's police 3gun competition...

How often was this match? Was it in one location (exclusively)?

Is something else going on?

If you're expecting sympathy from the Caliban because you are a competitor, expect to find it between S--t and Syphlis in the dictonary.

When the CA ban passes and classified an Olympic competitor's target pistol as an "assault weapon", state senator Don Perata remarked "If Olympic shooting is her goal, Perata says, she should find a state more friendly to the sport, much like Olympic skiers go to Utah and Colorado to train."

ps: Senator Don Perata uses his clout as a senator to get an "unavailable to normal people" CCW.

Larry is leaving the NRA Law Enforcement 3 Gun Competition Coordinator job because he accepted a full time position. The new job is in New Mexico.

As of today, his old position was still posted on the 'job openings' section of the NRA website . See Tactical Police Competition Program Administrator .

Also, as long as you're on the page, notice the Tactical Rifle Program Coordinator position that is posted.

Seems the "Fairness Doctrines" everywhere.

That would be "the Fairness Doctrine's everywhere" or "the Fairness Doctrine is everywhere" Just a civics lesson reminder, this is Brian's personal forum and he has every right to control the content of HIS forum. If you want to start your own forum, neither Brian, myself or even Flexmoney will try and stop you. You can rant on on and on about whatever topic you desire. Censorship is when the government, the STATE or the MAN, is squelching your free speech not when a CITIZEN is controlling the content of HIS own forum.

Once again note, I am not saying that the potential return of the AWB is not of great importance or that these political developments don't effect the future of our sport. Please be active but we are not going to be arguing about it HERE.

Thanks Kelly...and reading the forum RULES would be a good idea for some of the newer folks.

OK everyone...I am alive in beautiful New Mexico. Just as an update, I accepted a position with the Department of the Army Police at White Sands Missle Range as the Director of Training for the West Region Police Academy. Yea you got it, I am in charge of a police academy and no it will be nothing like the movie!

Here is my take on the three gun and I will clarify one point as well. The NRA is not looking to take over matches just help with the political arm when it comes to any laws that could affect the black rifle. I know Mike Krei and Brian Zinn were working with the task force to hopefully with everyone's blessing to produce a standard set of rules pertaining to safety and then possible look at a way to help with a set of rules that everyone can live with and does not take away from the very basis that has made all these matches a huge success. Lets face it the reason these matches are successful because they are not rules heavy and people like that...why do you think the USPSA Multi Gun nationals does not fill up...well several reasons, location could be one but IMHO it is that they are extremely rule heavy. I relayed this to Mike Krei.

Now to clarify something...it was my understanding that USPSA was invited to be a part of the task force however choose not to show up at the original meeting. Now, my sources are pretty darn good on this so take that for what you wish. It is then my understanding that MV contacted Mike Krei to request a meeting at SHOT. Not sure at that point where it is!

This was the first chance I had to be on the forum so if you need anything you can certainly email me at azone40@comcast.net

Looking forward to seeing you guys on the range and before I left, we had 6 matches on the web page for the LE Tactical Police Competition, you can find out more as I spent the last two months getting the web page up and running http://www.nrahq.org/law/competitions/tpc take a look at it if you get a chance.
