HI5-O
Just sent some ammunition (100rds) and my gun for a check up halfway around the world (Florida). Had to ship ammo (dangerous goods) via priority overnight and the cost was over $1 per round Next time I'll spend a little more and just hand deliver it instead, at least that way I'll get to travel. barry

AikiDale
Oh, yeah Barry, on balance living on Maui sounds like a real hardship The weather and the views are nice. The cost of living, the socialist government and the 10 round mag limit are not. Now just how someone getting by on a cops salary can afford to spend $100 to ship a box of bullets to Florida is interesting....

Easy, only 1 wife & 2 dogs and no children I should have waited and entered the Florida Open match It's not all paradise here for working folks (dems running the govt and 10rd pistol mag limit)

gino_aki
MPD, being perennially understaffed the way it is, MPD officers can take advantage of lots of overtime, special duty, and all the incentives they offer just for joining. Barry's kinda high up in the hierarchy so his situation is even better. I sure wanna see how a possibly favorable Supreme Court decision on the DC gun ban case will affect our laws out here. Be kinda amusing to see and hear all the apoplectic outrage by local Dems when their laws are declared unconstitutional.
AikiDale
You guys ever get up to Old Kahakuloa villiage? bgary
Is that the place up the old Kahekili highway from Kahului? If so.. that's the best banana bread on the *planet*... and if I recall, there's a pretty good shave-ice stand just up the road, too. b
al503
I'd be happy to reload some ammo (I can do 38 super/supercomp, .40, and 9mm) and ship it for you in the future, Barry.

I got there by going North from Lahaina, but North from Kahului would do it as well.

Now why didn't I think of that Ok, Al I might take you up on that for the upcoming Area 1 No kidding.... I'm in on that as well. All you need do is tell us what you prefer and let us know. Also, I think there is a thread floating around here on a company doing "match ammo" including major and major 9 stuff. You can buy it directly from them and ship it in to the match hotel/club. If I can help in area 5 or 3 let me know I'd be happy to load some stuff up for you... just pay for the supplies and shipping and we're good. I've got dies for 40,45,38sc, 9mm $1 a round shipping is churly. Edited November 23, 2007 by JThompson

shadetree
it always crack me up how they can call that old goat trail a highway At least that way it doesn't get confused with the "interstates" on Oahu I lived on Oahu for a few years. I always got a chuckle out of the interstates. I drove like a sob many times but was unable to get to another state. Just for grins when people in new hampshire used to ask my mother how she got her van with hawaiian plates to nh she would tell them she took the bridge. You would not believe how many people believed her
