What's Your Shooting Soundtrack?

When I'm not dryfiring or at the range, I spend most of my time thinking about my shooting, and daydreaming about victories. On the way to work today, I was listeneing to my Ipod and had a cool idea. My question...

You have just won the Nationals in your division! The film of you shooting each stage is amazing, and you now want to put the match on a DVD. What songs are added to your shooting soundtrack to add to your victory?

Mine...

-Navras-Juno Reactor/Don Davis (Think final Smith battle in Matrix Revolutions)

-Breathe-Prodigy

-Blow Me Away-Breaking Benjamins

-Ride The Lightning-Metallica

-Hey Man Nice Shot-Filter

-Thunderkiss 65-White Zombie

For my acceptance speech-Ave Maria-Sirenia

And for the credits-Where Is My Mind-Pixies (think ending song to Fight Club)

If I bombed a stage, either...

-Can't Always Get What You Want-Rolling Stones

-No More Tears-Ozzy

-Every Rose Has It's Thorn-Poison

What's in your soundtrack?

:D

For my 100% stage at the 2007 Nats, my soundtrack would be Ring of Fire performed by Social Distortion or possibly F#$k Authority performed by Pennywise.

If the wheels fall off, play Fire Water Burn performed by the Bloodhound Gang.

My soundtrack is broken into two parts - standards and current material

Standards

  • My Own Summer (Shove It) - Deftones
  • Would? - Alice In Chains
  • Mouth For War - Pantera
  • The Grudge - Tool - if The Scream doesn't get you moving, you don't have a pulse.

Current Material

  • Redneck - Lamb of God
  • Hole in the Earth - Deftones
  • Duality - Slipknot
  • I Hope You Die - Bloodhound Gang

OK children, I looked up some of those songs on the web, and all I can say is I now know why there is more than 1 style of music in this world.

And obviously this is one of those topics where there is no wrong answer, so .......... here goes.

I dont have anything in mind for my 'acceptance speech' because at that very moment, music would be the last thing I'd be worried about. B)

But some of the songs I like to listen to while driving to a match / practice are:

Motley Crue - Kickstart My Heart

Tesla - Hang Tough

Tesla - Edison's Medicine

AC/DC - Are You Ready ? B)

AC/DC - Gone Shootin'

Poison - Ride The Wind

Van Halen - Panama

Van Halen - Unchained

WASP - Shoot From The Hip

Rollins Band - Shine

Rage Against the Machine - Wake Up

Powerman 5000 - Free

Saliva - Pride

Three Doors Down-Kryptonite can get me psyched up for anything...even shooting in the snow!

I watched the world float

To the dark side of the moon

After all I knew it had to be

Something to do with you

I really don’t mind what happens now and then

As long as you’ll be my friend at the end

If I go crazy then will you still

Call me Superman

If I’m alive and well, will you be

There a-holding my hand

I’ll keep you by my side

With my superhuman might

Kryptonite

LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL

MY GAME IS BETTER THAN EVER

WINNERS- THEY COME AND GO

LEGENDS- THEY'RE FOREVER

THAT'S THE GAME WE PLAY

AND I PLAN ON WINNIN'...

Mine would look similar to my "psyche up" list... I've been digging on a selection of Disturbed stuff I downloaded via iTunes a couple of weeks ago. I'm into all kinds of stuff - but shooting calls for a special measure of aggression and testosterone that I just don't get out of Michael Buble

From the latest Disturbed downloads, I'll be adding Liberate, Rise, Guarded, Stricken, Land of Confusion, Voices, Stupify, and Down With the Sickness to my psyche up list (Prayer and Remember are good tunes, too, but just not in the psyche-up list for me....). Others:

Many songs by Pantera, Sevendust, Damageplan, Metallica, Megadeth, Killswitch Engage, System of a Down, the X-Headz, and some older Iron Maiden

and occasional songs by Tool, Black Label Society, AC/DC, Tesla, Soundgarden, Galactic Cowboys, King's X, Nickelback, et al.... ;)

Don't ask me to pick just a few :) I need my whims....

+1 on Kryptonite

others on my psych-up playlist include...

"Unbelievable" (EMF)

"Dance this mess around" (B-52s)

"Takin' care of business" (BTO)

"I will not go quietly" (Don Henley)

"Just a job to do" (Genesis)

"All fired up" (Pat Benatar)

"Smells like teen spirit" (Nirvana)

"Celebrate" (Rare Earth)

"Get the party started" (Pink)

"One thing leads to another" (the Fixx)

"Footloose" (Kenny Loggins)

...and

"Wild Man" (J. Geils Band)

Kind of an eclectic assortment, but they all have a great beat and/or lyrics that help put my mind in a take-no-prisoners kinda place.

Man, I'm really old, I feel that way about songs like "Satisfaction" by the Stones, "Funk 49" by The James Gang, "Frankenstein" by The Edgar Winter Band, "Won't Get Fooled Again" by The Who and so on...

I will also go with Bruce on "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana. As far as Funk goes, "Serpentine Fire" by Earth, Wind & Fire" is the best 70's funk song there is ifn'ya wanna' party like it's 1979 ;-)

Must be showing my age.

I was thinking Hayden Trumpet Concerto, Wagner's Entrance of the Gods into Valhalla,

Grieg's Hall of the Mountain King, Mahler's 5th would be good..... B)

Epic funk like that ALWAYS gets me ready to kick ass! Excellent pick!

For me it's going to be some Lacuna Coil, Faith No More, and Thousand Foot Krutch.

Matt, again, +1 for Lacuna Coil...I saw them in concert with Type O Negative a while back and have been a fan ever since :D

That would rock to see them in concert. I only found out about them a couple of months ago. Need to see them if they're ever around here.
