I handed my daughter an ambidextrous bow for Christmas to see what she would do. She started right handed and left eyed. She could tell that didn't work so she switched to left handed on her own and has been shooting it that way ever since. So far she shoots a pistol right handed but when I had her open both eyes she switches her eye dominance back and forth every now and then but doesn't miss a target, I know, weird. Rifle and bow are both lefty but a little awkward for her. I think she may just be amidextrous. I like the idea of just making her close an eye (saves me a ton on lefty gear) but I've ALWAYS heard that if you're left eyed then you have to shoot left handed unless it's a pistol. So I don't know. I'm kinda just letting her try some different things to see what works for her.

I need help for my six year old daughter. She's right handed but everytime I do the eye dominance test she tests as left eye dominant. So I've been having her shoot a rifle left handed since I've heard you should shoot to your dominant eye. And she's done very well with it. I had her shooting a red dot on a pistol today for the first time and told her to open both eyes and focus on the target. She would start with her left eye but then switch to her right and still be hitting targets. So I'm really torn on what to do. Could she not have a dominant eye? Shold I keep her shooting left handed or go to right? It's pretty bizzare how she can switch back and forth. I would really appreciate any advice or pointers to help get a girl into the sport with me. :-) Thanks! John

First a couple of caveats. I heard about this on a radio show and have no affiliation with this company or product. Second, I don't need glasses yet so I haven't tried this personally. But I get a lot of questions on this and have seen the topic come up here before so I thought others would find this interesting if not beneficial. The concept is you put a small reading lens on the TOP of your shooting glasses, not the bottom. So when you lower your head you can see the front sight. Here's a picture of the lens on the bottom but it attaches with a drop of water so you can put it wherever you want and apply it to any glasses. And a link for those interested. I like the Ghost since I can switch back and forth between lim and open seamlessly and I don't have to look at it to holster which is nice for dry fire. It's secure when it's locked though you do have to get used to it and remember to lock it or you run the risk of dropping a gun. I had a CR speed but didn't like having to move the cup thing at the bottom and never got comfortable with putting it in the holster.

I would see if you can have a day or two layover in the connecting cities on the way there. Hong Kong or Tokoyo would be cool to see while you're moving through. Shanghai is amazing but you need a Chinese visa which isn't trivial. As far as Taipei goes, Taipei 101 is just awesome. The national museum was cool and don't miss the night market. The jade market is also neat but I didn't buy any for fear of getting a knock off.

So I'm walking through the garage and look down to find this Trijicon sticker on my 5 year old daughter's bike. I have no idea when she put it on there. I thought ya'll would enjoy this as much as I did.

Awesome picture! What do you run on splits? Those two pieces of brass look like they're about to touch each other!

I don't think they've established a date yet and only settled on the location last weekend.

I went through the same debate and settled on having two different guns. I was worried about having my night stand gun having the relatively light trigger that I want for IPSC. What if the thing accidentially went off with the adrenaline going? To me that seemed like plenty reason enough to get an M&P for the night stand. Just my .02

I too suffered this and Dillon gratiously sent me a new one. The problem was I couldn't wait for the mailman so I took it apart and ground off a little bit of the length of the punch. This worked great and is still working now as I've been too lazy to put in the new one.

Very cool. I really admire you for doing it. What amazes me is how much hair it takes to get 12". It looks like so much more than that when you're wearing it.

I really did buy this rifle for my daughter though it's sure a lot of fun for me too! :-) I have really been impressed with this as a great gun for kids. The stock shortens so she can shoulder it correctly and with the red-dot co-witnessed she gets the positive feedback of hitting targets now and I can teach her the concept of iron sights as well. The only bummer is she is not strong enough and has to use two fingers to pull the trigger. What a fun day! And she was amazingly accurate with it.

Something else to consider is the wealth of information here is just incredible. From shooting stance to hot tubs it's all been covered so it can also be tough to get involved. Yes the common questions can get old but I'm a lurker here because I do the search and it's almost always covered. It's rare that I get to participate in interest of saving bandwidth. That said I find it ironic that someone can post "+1" and that's considered a value add post. So we tolerate a seemingly insignificant post and yet turn away new poeple that are trying to grow our sport.

I have two slipped disks in my neck and so the hot tub became a critical part of my life. We literally went and tested at least a dozen over a month and decided on a Sundance Optima and it was far and away the best for me. I was in it every night and can't recommend it enough. When we moved I begrudging left my precious spa since the new house had a built in one but the build in is like a warm bath and the Sundance was like getting a full body massage every night. And the main reason that one was so good is it fit me and was the only one that would get powerful jets on my neck so I suggest you go try them but that's a good place to start! Good luck! John

I didn't get a card this year but thought this was much better. I'm not sure why I liked it so much but I figured ya'll would understand if anyone would. I'm not complaining but I don't get to shoot very much due to spending time with my family and there are times my shooting habit causes some family friction. This acknowledgement and support meant a lot to me.

I think it's great, thanks for starting this! My four year old shot a .22 rifle for the first time the other day and loved it so I'm hopeful my girls will shoot with me someday. We kept it positive and controlled but we both had a lot of fun. The 1 year old didn't care for the headphones too much though. :-)

Not my rant but to me the annoying part is when nonthing is filled out ahead of time when most of it could have been.
